All these nations and factions falling apart but I swear if anything happens to The Badlands I will summon all the gods of minecraft to burn the whole Dream SMP to fucking smithereens.

having bad be seen as the de facto leader of the badlands is an unintentionally genius move when it comes to improv rp. 

so far, in the three circumstances we’ve seen the badlands negotiate (second pet war, el rapids, badlands’ recognition by king george) we mainly see bad take the spotlight when it comes to negotiation. and he does a pretty good job because cc!bad is equal parts stubborn and eloquent, which usually leads to him winning or a stalemate. and in all three times, dream, sapnap/punz, and quackity talked to him as if he were the leader, despite the badlands’ power being split equally between the three. 

so if all the big players are keeping an eye on bad as the figurehead of the badlands, then no one takes into account antfrost and sam’s diehard loyalty to the faction. foolish allowed sam to be a third party consultant in l’sandburg negotiations, despite l’sandburg being technically badlands territory. hardly anyone has picked up on the fact that the prison and bank is ran by the badlands, giving them a huge amount of power on the SMP. ant’s role in the estate conflict was majorly tied to preserving badlands’ territory. everyone on the SMP has their eye on bad and his little toll gates, and no one notices how sam and ant are there, expanding badlands territory as well and backing bad up whenever they can.
