“Toshi—no, you have to tighten your core more.”
You were determined to support your boyfriend, so when he asked for advice on strengthening his core and enhancing his balance, you took it as your mission. You were aware of Ushijima’s resolve and aimed to match it.
“Mm,” he grumbled, acknowledging your guidance as he adjusted his arms, moving back into the planking position.
Despite his incredible strength, the strain in his muscles was visible as he struggled to maintain his posture. His wide shoulders trembled slightly, and sweat trickled down his temple.
Circling him, you focused on making sure his workout was effective. “C’mon, just thirty more seconds. Keep your arms straight.”
As his hips began to sag again, you sighed lightly and crouched beside him. Gently, you placed your hands on his waist, feeling the warmth of his skin. “Here, like this,” you said softly, guiding his hips back into position.
His quietness was telling, the occasional nod indicated he was taking in your instructions. You could sense the effort in his muscles.
“I should add this to my workout schedule,” he stated, his voice steady despite the exertion.
“To spend more time with you,” he added sincerely.
Leaning in, you whispered, “I’d like that.” His words pulling on your heartstrings.
Your hands stayed on him a little longer as you looked into his olive-green eyes.
The sound of your phone alarm shattered the moment. Yet, the warm feeling lingered even after you turned it off.
Ushijima gently reclined on the yoga mat, the fabric sticking to his sweaty skin. He lay flat on his back, drawing deep, steady breaths. His powerful arms moved behind his head, veins bulging as he began to cool down.
You brought him a small, white towel and crouched near his head. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, you leaned in closer, pressing a quick, affectionate kiss on his forehead.
“Your reward,” you whispered, smiling at him.
His eyes opened slowly, meeting yours with an intensity that quickened your pulse. His gaze traced your features, saying more than words could.
His chest rose and fell rhythmically, his body glistening under the soft light. The sight was mesmerizing as your peripheral vision caught a glimpse of his waistband, which hung low enough to reveal the two sculpted grooves that trailed even deeper down.
Ushijima reached up, the back of his hand brushing against your cheek. “Thank you,” he murmured.
“Anytime,” you replied softly, your heart racing as you hoped the warmth blossoming on your cheeks matched the heat of his hands.
There was a certain part of you, a hidden, daring side, that wanted to push him even further, just to see more of the sight of him now— sprawled out on the floor taking deep, heavy breaths.
A playful smirk crossed your face.
“What’s with the face, my love?” Ushijima’s deep voice pierced your bubble of thought.
“Oh! Nothing,” you assured him. “Now,” you clasped your hands together, “let’s continue, shall we?” you suggest, blinking innocently.

Ushijima knows he has fans. He might be simple-minded and a little oblivious, but he’s not stupid.
He knows girls stare at him from the balcony during practice. And he can hear their giggling when he passes them in the halls. Tendou often calls him Shiratorizawa’s Golden Boy, which Ushijima wholeheartedly disagrees with, but never voices out loud. Tendou often says strange things. He doesn’t mind.
Ushijima doesn’t understand his popularity. Sure, he is a good player. The best ace in the prefecture. But most of these girls have no understanding of volleyball. So why are they spending hours upon hours in the stands, watching him play?
“They’re not watching the match, Wakatoshi-kun. They are watching you.”
Hm. Strange. His play is very consistent. Watching him do the same thing over and over has to get boring, especially when they aren’t watching for the sake of the game.
But then he sees you for the first time.
You are in his third year English class. In his three years of high school, Ushijima is sure he has never seen you before. Because if he had, there was no way he would forget you.
He is curious. And a little enamored by you.
You are, by all means, a regular girl. You sit on the same chair every day, bring your own bento instead of eating from the cafeteria. It is always wrapped in a pretty multicolored patterned cloth, done up in a knot on top. You have a small stuffed cat chain on the zipper of your backpack. And you wear your hair differently every day. Some days it is tied up, some days it is let down. And some days it is half-up and half-down. You have one pink bunny hairclip that you wear maybe once every two or three days that Ushijima thinks is very cute. Your uniform is always immaculate.
There are so many tiny details about you that Ushijima has learned, and he finally understands why girls would stay hanging over the gym balcony to watch him for hours, because he could watch you for hours too.
You are very smart, he could tell. You always answer correctly when the teacher would call on you, and he has glimpsed at your notes. Simple, but neat and easy to understand, just the way he likes it. There are no crazy colors and highlighters, and your handwriting is neat and beautiful, just like the rest of you.
You are also quiet. You have a select group of friends that you talk to, and while you are nice to anyone who interacts with you, you don't go out of your way to stand out. Again, Ushijima loves that. It seems he loved everything about you. All the minor details that make you a little bit more unique to everyone else.
When you show up at his game, he nearly loses his focus.
It in’t an important game by any means, just a practice match with another local university team. So why are you here? Have your friends dragged you along? Or are you here by your own volition? Ushijima feels how sweaty his palms are when he clenches his fists, and it surprises him.
Is he….. nervous?
Why? Because you are watching? How ridiculous. Ushijima has never once doubted his own strength, or his ability to win. How could your presence alter that? The thought annoys him, and he is determined to prove that you being here would not be a hindrance to his play.
Turns out, he needn't have worried. It seems your presence had sharpened his senses more than ever. Shiratorizawa won in straight sets, and of the 50 points they scored, 39 had been from Ushijima’s hand.
“You were on fire today, Wakatoshi-kun.” Tendou comments as the final whistle rings. Ushijima unintentionally glances at you in the stands, cheering for the team. Cheering for him.
His heart is beating a mile a minute, and he doesn’t think it is because of the game he had just played. He hears Tendou let out a dreamy sigh.
“Ah, the miracles of having a crush.”
He feels his lips tick up in a tiny smile as he throws a towel over his shoulders. Tendou is wrong. Ushijima doesn’t think he has a crush.
He thinks he is in love.
You tell your friend that they, “Look like a bottom.” + “Submissive and breedable.”

Holding back your snicker, you raise your brow, nodding; a serious expression on your face as you stare at the athlete right through his eyes.

He gasps, clearly offended. One brow raised, he jumps (almost spilling the glass of water in his hand) to you like a kid trying to pick a fight,

You rub your ears, telling him that your eardrums are going to rupture with how loud he’s speaking,
“OKAY. Okay. Fine… BUT YOU DESERVE IT THOUGH? HOW- IN WHICH ANGLE AM I A BOTTOM? This is the worst thing you’ve said to me in 7 years, (Y/n). I’m hurt.”
He pouts, but there’s a playful glint in his eyes. He’s confident and he knows himself well. Far too well to understand that what you’d just said was completely false.
He played along anyway. You’ve been friends for seven years, but he wasn’t sure that you would want to know (do you?) about that part of him yet.

"Well, you look submissive and breedable to me,” you joke, winking at Bokuto, which he replies with a raise of his brow,
“Mmhm,” He gulps the remaining water in his glass, “Surely this buff, tall volleyball player looks submissive and breedable,”
He grins, flexing his biceps as he stares down at you, “Suuuuuuurely.”
You squint your eyes, brows furrowed as you lean closer to his face, pretending to examine his features,
“Yeah, still looks like a bottom to me.”
“HEY! waIT- OI, THAT’S UNFAIR!”

Clearly, you don’t know the gravity of the situation…
Smug as hell. Squints his eyes as he stares you with a smirk before doing the tongue-in-cheek thing,
“Oh yeah? You think so?”
His voice literally dropped an octave. Why is the room suddenly so hot?
“Well, maybe i am. Maybe i’m not. You have to see for yourself.”
Your pride is on the line. Of course you’re not going to back out THAT easily. C'mon. It’s Kuroo we’re talking about, how many time do you wanna get bullied by this man?
So you went all out. With whatever is left of your confidence, you walk up to him, returns his smug smirk and tell him he looks submissive-
He didn’t expect that.
“Shit. You’re being bold today. Too bad you’re wrong though.”
“Well, you’re in denial.”
“Well, if you’re so adamant about me being submissive in bed, why not come and test it?”
His gaze meets yours. It’s a staring contest with tension, and you knew that whoever breaks it off first would lose,
But its Kuroo we’re talking about. The captain doesn’t even budge, his hand creeping up to your face. Strong, slightly calloused fingers cup your cheeks as he leans closer to you.
Your nose brushed with his.
And then….
He flicks your forehead. Hard.

“Do you have some business with me?” The duo turned to the direction of the voice.

“Toshi? What’s wrong? Are we there yet?” An adorable voice came from the girl Ushijima was carrying.

“If you have no business with me, then I’ll be on my way.” Ushijima adjusted you to make sure you were comfortable. He turned to look at you as if to ask if you were comfortable, to which you nodded and nuzzled into him more.
“We came from Karasuno, would you allow us do reconnaissance on Shiratorizawa?” The orange-haired male was astounded, weren’t they supposed to do that in secret?
“Karasuno…do whatever you want. No matter how capable you lot may be, you’ll see that we never weaken. I’m returning to school, if you want to watch us then follow me. If you’ll be able to keep up, that is.” Ushijima prepared to continue jogging.
“But…what about the girl you’re carrying?”
“You don’t have to worry about her, just make sure you don’t disturb her, or you won’t be able to get in my school.”
Ushijima let you down after everything that had happened, with the duo challenging him and all.
“Hey! You kids aren’t from here, you’re not supposed to be here!”
“Thank you Ushijima-san for showing us around. We’ll get going now.”
“Bye bye~ Make sure to get back safe~” You waved at them with a closed eye smile making the duo flustered.
“CUTE!!!” The orange-haired male can’t help but utter while the raven-haired male thought it in his head. This made Ushijima frown and tug you closer to his side and glare at the duo. This scared the duo and made them run away.
“Toshi~ You seem excited to meet them again. Let’s head inside now, coach must be waiting for you.” Ushijima nodded and kissed your forehead.
“WE SAW JAPAN!!! HE HAD A GIRL WITH HIM, HE WAS CARRYING HER! SHE WAS SO CUTE! I’M SO JEALOUS!!” The orange-haired male ranted to his teammates with the raven-haired male nodding and agreeing with everything.

Tsukishima has your initials engraved into his sports glasses so that you’re close to him during every game. He has them engraved on every single pair that he owns.
Atsumu won’t stop talking about you during every single one of his interviews. He always finds a way to bring the topic back to you. “What are some important rituals you perform before every game, Miya-san?” “Eat a good meal, do my stretches, and get a kiss from y/n!”
Ushijima makes sure to only accept sponsors from all of your favorite brands so that he can get you free merchandise. Sakusa moved in with you after one week of dating. He literally showed up once, and then never left. He’s there when you wake up, and he’s there when you go to sleep. You haven’t spent one single night apart since making it official. Sakusa tried going on a boys trip once and literally called you to pick him up from the train station just four hours in. Kageyama brings items of your clothing with him to away games. Whichever he can get his hands on — a shirt, shorts, a sweater, whatever. You nearly had a heard attack when you were helping him unpack and you found underwear. It took you a few seconds to realize it was yours.

He wondered if he should kiss you awake or capture this moment. A small smile crept up on his face as he heard you murmer his name in your sleep, and you were dreaming about him.
Deciding to do both, he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead making you shift impossibly closer to his chest with a soft smile on your lips. Careful as to not wake you he reached for his phone off of his nightstand, quickly grabbing it and snapping a picture of you. He's definetly teasing you with this later, but for now he dropped his phone on the bed. Wrapping his arm back around your waist, "cute."

He always wondered how he got so lucky to have such a breathtaking s/o, everything about you was damn near perfect. Especially your smile, fuck he was falling for you all over again. "You keep staring at her like that she's gonna think your being creepy." Kenma commented, eyes focused on his hand held game.
"Love is creepy now kenma?" "The way you express things will always make something weird."

He offers to help you, but you both know he likes seeing you struggle to kiss him. And then when you finally peck his lips, you'll wrap your arms around his neck. Making him chuckle as his hands found their way to his waist, "I did it!" The big giant hearts warmed seeing that cute dorky smile of yours, not being able to stop himself from pressing a soft kiss to your lips. "Yes, yes you did." A slight blush crept up on your face as you felt his lips against yours, "Can I have another love?"
Despite his slight teasing nature, you saw the hint embarassment in his face. "Of course toshi, you can have kisses anytime."
