In the early stages, I pictured Chilchuck as having a fair amount of grey hair. I drew him like that several times, but I gave up on it around Chapter 3

There’s many reasons for Chilchuck being my current Tumblr sexyman, but most are the fact that I’m an ageing weeb and he’s one of the rare characters who’s vibing at the wavelength of my age group in spirit, if not in physical years.

Show me that divorced dad professional with a drinking problem who knows the power of a solid employment contract and I’ll show you another dozen people I know IRL.

In other words I am heartbroken the grey hairs didn’t stay.

He calls Cuphead “Cuppy” just not as often as he gets called Mugsy. It comes out more when he’s scared or upset

Springs at every given opportunity to infodump about planes. Will take advantage of them all being trapped in the car together and forced to listen (this is about me). Elder kettle could give you so many random plane facts he picked up from him

I mentioned this before but nonverbal for a few years as a little kid but also hyperlexic and reading everything he could find on Kettles bookshelf

Knows they both process trauma very differently but as they get older he can’t help but feel like Cup doesn’t care as much/isn’t as affected as he is over the events of DDWTD due to his escapism and tendency to bottle things up whereas mugsy feels everything very openly. It frustrates him and causes a lot of hard feelings (cup doesnt hold this against him but it’s hard for him to open up about how much it’s affected him when he doesn’t wanna give mugs anything else to worry about when he’s already caused all this and auughhshskj the teenage angst)

He stays up late to read after everyone goes to bed because the daytime antics with cuphead are great but you just have to have that special autism time to yourself when the rest of the world shuts down (he would love to sleep in too if cuphead didn’t drag him up)

Stays up with cuphead frequently when he’s kept up with nightmares to calm him down and keep him company. He might be dead tired but he won’t go back to bed until he knows Cup is okay

Cup does just the same for him when he gets frustrated/overstimulated (I feel like when they were little before he could self regulate elder kettle did not know how to handle this but cup was able to help him through it just by being a comforting presence)

They both have separation anxiety and physical touch is a major comfort, like the reassurance that the other is there with them (thinking about the Devils Revenge when they would not let go of each other). Moreso for cuphead with his fear of losing them

Cuphead is his dumbass reckless brother who always gets them into trouble but he’s also brave and fearless and spontaneous and everything mugsy wishes he could be. Yes he’s frustrating and he wishes he would think before jumping into things but at the end of the day that’s his Big Brother who he feels lost without and looks up to more than cuphead will ever realize and would give anything to be able to impress

Frustrated with cupheads “I ain’t too worried about it” attitude because he is envious of it. He spends too much time stressing over things but more importantly has a harder time trusting others (seen initially with Chalice). While cuphead is welcoming and quick to forgive when he is wronged it takes longer for mugs to build trust and will hold a lasting grudge. He hates himself for being like this

It’s just an ingrained instinct to trust cuphead even though he never worries about anything and will say everything’s ok even if it’s not. If cuphead tells him it’s gonna be ok then he just has to trust that everything’s gonna be ok. That’s his big brother

Gets emotionally attached to inanimate objects (kept his pacifier longer than cuphead) and personifies them. Knows his teddy bear has feelings and if it falls on the floor in the middle of the night he will profusely apologize to it (I hope everyone would do this but just as an example. He’s like that with everything)

Along with getting emotionally attached I feel like that makes him easier to keep and collect random junk too. Like he’d find a pretty leaf and maybe even name it (and cuphead definitely keeps sticks and rocks he thinks are cool)

Ok I have to throw tallulah stuff in here I feel like he’s always expressed interest in feminine things like dressing up and maybe it caused some confusion over his identity and in Special Delivery getting to play the role of Tallulah gave him the awakening he needed. Genderfluid he/she queen

Likewise I feel like Tallulah is sort of like a role he adopted. Being tallulah gives him more confidence bc when he’s tallulah he is not anxiety riddled mugman and this helps with the stage fright thing too especially if he grows up to be any sort of drag performer (cough cough theater kid)

*looks at pfp* As Tallulah (adult) he develops a reputation and earns the nickname Tequila Piccolo
