Well, My Dashboards Looking A Lot Cheerier Since Posting The Last Installment Of Mrs Hudsons Adventures!

Well, my dashboard’s looking a lot cheerier since posting the last installment of Mrs Hudson’s adventures! I’m not sure where you’ve all popped up from, but it’s terribly nice to have you around.
I went back to work yesterday, but was sent home for still being gross and icky… So, it’s back under the duvet and back on with the Granada Holmes boxset.
Herein lies part three of Mrs Hudson’s adventures, in which Holmes doesn’t want to tidy his room.

More Posts from Aristofranes

Still ill, but feeling well enough today to at least use a ruler to draw boxes, so that’s an improvement.
The upside to being ill is another day in bed with the Granada Holmes boxset and another instalment in the thrilling adventures of Mrs Hudson.

Legs, Bums and Tums
I am going to a life drawing class on Friday, my first ever. Boobs and bums, yay!

There's not much new in my sketchbook this week, mostly because I have taken on another hair-brained scheme.
A good friend asked the Chap and I to sing Bring Me Sunshine as their first dance at their wedding. Now, I've not performed in quite a few years now so, in an attempt to alleviate my near-crippling stage fright, my uncle suggested putting the lyrics on A3 cards so that all the guests could join in (hopefully drowning me out). Great idea, thinks me - but what would be even better would be if I illustrated the lyrics, yeah, let's do that! And now I've committed myself, apropos of almost nothing, to illustrate the whole song. Each card will be shown for about, oh, five seconds at most. Yay!
This is what I've got so far ... there's still a whole other verse about rainbows and sunbeams to go. Phew.
Bring me sunshine
Sorry for the lack of updates over the last couple of weeks. I was finalising those lyric cards for my pal’s wedding (and was so rushed that I completely forgot to take pictures of the last few!), among other real-life bits and pieces.
The first dance went really well, though I’m not sure that it was strictly traditional… we had a couple of friends hold up the cards (of which there were 28 in the end) while we sang and, somehow, managed to get all 120 guests to join in with the singalong aspect of the thing. Given that we ahd thought that we’d be doing well if we could get 10 people to join in, I think you could call it a run away success… The upshot was that the couple were the only ones dancing, amidst much giggling and general silliness.
And now my pal’s planning to frame the cards up around their house, which is lovely indeed.

And here's the finished piece! Emily and Woolly go exploring...
I'm mostly pleased with how it turned out - really pleased with how Emily looks (particularly the whole rodeo-baby thing she's got going on), not so pleased with Woolly's trunk. But on the whole ... it's not bad.
