Another exciting instalment of the Adventures of Mrs Hudson lands this evening!

Definitely not a game-changing still life. Just an excuse to try out the watercolour pencils I bought this week. I've never used them before, hence blotchy shadow-ness.

I think I might need to be a bit more liberal with the colouring before I add the water, too ... it all just looks a bit faint and, well, pencilly as it is. But not too shabby a first go, I guess.

(Plus, unlike at life drawing today, I got to eat my subject once I got bored.)

I'm mostly pleased with how it turned out - really pleased with how Emily looks (particularly the whole rodeo-baby thing she's got going on), not so pleased with Woolly's trunk. But on the whole ... it's not bad.

Legs, Bums and Tums

I am going to a life drawing class on Friday, my first ever. Boobs and bums, yay!

He liked it so he put a ring on it.

So today I went to my first life drawing class and it was a lot of fun once I got over some rather, uh, unexpected piercings. I was going to post some pictures of the sketches but I won't because a) they're rubbish and b) I'm pretty sure they're NSFW. But yes, a good time had by all and I shall be going back. Honestly, you haven't lived until you've chatted with a stark naked stranger on a rainy Friday afternoon in London.

So, the good news is, I’ve been made full-time. The bad news is, I’ve been made full-time. Time for drawing has been severely cut. But I’m not very well today and confined to my sick bed, so I’ve actually had a chance to do some doodling. 

I’ve been watching a LOT of Sherlock Holmes recently (Jeremy Brett, obviously) and this is the result of that. That, and all the cold medication I’m currently taking…
