saying “you are a burden on society” is just such a weird framing of priorities It’s like saying “wow, think how much better gas mileage your car would get if you weren’t sitting in it” or “think how dry that umbrella would be if you weren’t holding it in between you and the rainstorm”. the things we create? they’re for us. they are meant to carry us. they are meant to protect us. we are meant to hold them up to keep us dry.

If you’re European, in a couple of weeks you will be denied any and all access to fandom contents on Tumblr and everywhere else on the internet. Here’s why.
On June, 20th the JURI of European Parliament approved of the articles 11 and 13 of the new Copyright Law. These articles are also known as the “Link Tax” and the “Censorship Machines” articles.
Articles 13 in particular forces every internet platform to filter all the contents we upload online, ending once and for all the fandom culture. Which means you won’t be able to upload any type of fandom works like fan arts, fan fictions, gif sets from your favourite films and series, edits, because it’s all copyrighted material. And you won’t also be able to share, enjoy or download other’s contents, because the use of links will be completely restricted.
But not everything’s lost yet. There’s another round of voting scheduled for the early days of July.

What you can do now to save our internet, is to share these informations with all of your family members and friends, and to ask to your MEP (the members of the European Parliament from your country) to vote NO at the next round, to vote against articles 11 and 13.
Here you can find more news and all the details to contact your MEP:

Also, sign and share this petition:

We have just a couple of weeks to stop this complete madness, don’t let them dictating the way we enjoy our internet.
#SaveYourInternet now!

A man is driving down the road and breaks down near a monastery. He goes to the monastery, knocks on the door, and says, “My car broke down. Do you think I could stay the night?” The monks graciously accept him, feed him dinner, even fix his car. As the man tries to fall asleep, he hears a strange sound. The next morning, he asks the monks what the sound was, but they say, “We can’t tell you. You’re not a monk.” The man is disappointed but thanks them anyway and goes about his merry way. Some years later, the same man breaks down in front of the same monastery. The monks accept him, feed him, even fix his car. That night, he hears the same strange noise that he had heard years earlier. The next morning, he asks what it is, but the monks reply, “We can’t tell you. You’re not a monk.” The man says, “All right, all right. I’m *dying* to know. If the only way I can find out what that sound was is to become a monk, how do I become a monk?” The monks reply, “You must travel the earth and tell us how many blades of grass there are and the exact number of sand pebbles. When you find these numbers, you will become a monk.” The man sets about his task. Forty-five years later, he returns and knocks on the door of the monastery. He says, “I have traveled the earth and have found what you have asked for. There are 145,236,284,232 blades of grass and 231,281,219,999,129,382 sand pebbles on the earth.” The monks reply, “Congratulations. You are now a monk. We shall now show you the way to the sound.” The monks lead the man to a wooden door, where the head monk says, “The sound is right behind that door.” The man reaches for the knob, but the door is locked. He says, “Real funny. May I have the key?” The monks give him the key, and he opens the door. Behind the wooden door is another door made of stone. The man demands the key to the stone door. The monks give him the key, and he opens it, only to find a door made of ruby. He demands another key from the monks, who provide it. Behind that door is another door, this one made of sapphire. So it went until the man had gone through doors of emerald, silver, topaz, and amethyst. Finally, the monks say, “This is the last key to the last door.” The man is relieved to no end. He unlocks the door, turns the knob, and behind that door he is amazed to find the source of that strange sound. But I can’t tell you what it is because you’re not a monk
THE PROTÉGÉ — BETA CALL!!
GENERAL INFORMATION
With Camp Nano drawing to a close, and me being so close to finishing The Protégé (my WIP), I thought I would start the call for beta readers sooner rather than later!! So here it is: my beta call!!
I honestly never thought I’d get here. It doesn’t feel real to be talking about betas and a complete first draft when I didn’t even think I’d come close to completing my first draft this year, never mind this month. But hey! I’m closing up the last few chapters, getting my 60k out of the way for Camp Nano, and The Protégé is ready to be beta-d!
I made a form for this, found HERE, and I will be picking a good few people to beta The Protégé. It’ll be fun, it’ll be chill, it won’t be at all stressful!
THE PROTÉGÉ: SUMMARY
It’s been four decades since Riko was saved from a fate worse than death by the resident golden boy of the city, Alexander Young, also known as the superhero Eden, and he is still working tirelessly to repay him. Under Alex’s tutelage and guidance, Riko is very slowly but surely learning to control his powers, and yearns to aid his mentor in his ongoing fight against his arch nemesis and worst enemy, the Viper.
However, it is only upon joining this fight that Riko begins to notice the masks everyone around him hold up beginning to shatter, and discover that the forces of good and evil aren’t as black and white as they originally seem. With the perpetual fight between Alex and the Viper, and the disturbing new truths Riko starts to learn almost every day about his life, time is very quickly running out for him to make a decision on which side he is on and why — and potentially shift the balance of power in the world forever.
More info under the cut!!

WIP INFORMATION
Information on my WIP The Protégé can be found HERE, HERE (though it’s not all entirely accurate anymore) and a chapter HERE.
It features an openly trans and bi Latino protagonist, a closeted bi hero, a gay poc villain, and a female villainous sidekick, as well as many other fun and diverse characters!
There are roughly around 21 chapters long, and each chapter is about 4000 words at average.
Focuses more on platonic relationships than it does romantic, though relatable romance crises are there!
If that all sounds like something you’d be interested in reading, check out my form! I go more into specifics there, and even though the form is a bit long, it’s all just formalities really 😁
ACCEPTANCE AND SUCH
This beta call was posted on 28 July 2019 and will close on 16 August 2019. Shortly after, probably between the 18th and 20th August, I will pick a good few beta readers, not just one or two!!
Should you be accepted, you’ll receive the manuscript around the very end of August! There will be some things I will want to edit or sort out myself, so I will take the time to do that before sending the draft.
If you are not accepted, please don’t take it personally!! I am still willing to talk to you and be your friend if that’s what you’d like but depending on how many responses this gets, I might not be able to pick everyone, as much as I would love to :(
MORE GENERALITIES
I really hope some people apply, and don’t worry about English maybe not being your first language or if you’ve never been a beta before! Those things don’t matter. As long as you like magic, superheroes/villains and some good old found family tropes, I think you’ll be good!
Thank you all so much in advance, I’m so genuinely excited for this!! I WILL reblog this like,, once a day, maybe twice a day too, depending on how I feel because I’m SO excited ahhh!!!! Block the tag “the protégé beta call” if you don’t want to see this lol ;))
This perhaps may be a bit of a stupid question, and one I could be incredibly incorrect on as I haven't been to church in years, but why is Gabriel treated as Aziraphale's boss when Aziraphale ranks higher in the third sphere? Principalities rank higher than Archangels in Angel Hierarchy, and while Archangels are there to ensure fulfilment of roles (such as Armageddon) Gabriel would still rank lower than Aziraphale, so his treatment towards Aziraphale is a tad confusing for me.
Terry and I were of the opinion that, in the world of Good Omens, archangels and Archangels were different things.
As Wikipedia explains, there are those who “make a distinction between archangel (with a lower-case a) and Archangel (with an uppercase A). The former can denote the second-lowest choir (arch-angels in the sense of being just above the lowest Choir of angels that is called only “angels”) but the latter may denote the highest of all the angels (i.e., Arch-angels in the sense of being above all angels, of any Choir. The seven highest Seraphim, Michael, being the highest of all).”
