Keith strains against the coil of scaled muscle that grips his throat and steals his breath. His feet dangle, kicking as blood thunders in his skull. It was a legend, before– the snake demigod, half man and wholly monster. Now Keith has seen the Naga with his own eyes. It isn’t that he expected to live to tell the tale, but he never imagined it’d be over so soon.

Keith knows he’s a goner when he’s sent to the Naga as tribute. Shirogane takes him apart in all the ways he doesn’t expect, and none of the ways he does.

While naga shiro had been resuced from an underground fighting pit, naga keith had been abandoned from a breeding house. He was only a couple of years old, trapped in a wire fenced cage. Cold and starving, when a baseball breaks one of the windows of the house.

He watches with drooping eyes as the dust rose when the back door opened.

"Hello? Sorry about your window!"

The loud voice hurts his ears and makes him curl around himself.

There are footstepa getting closer to his cage and he peeks up.
