anyway so —— and i want to preface this by saying that i don't actually mind eddie & ana, and i think a lot of the recent scenes we've gotten of them together have been cute —— but part of the whole issue with regards to eddie moving on + christopher is that, while we know that time has passed, of course, in an abstract way, we, as the audience, aren’t necessarily provided a lot of context to said passing. to us, as viewers, it seems like ana and eddie have been on two dates, despite it likely the case it’s been more than that, if not alot. it’s just that.....there’s nothing narratively to imply said other dates have ever happened, which makes it difficult to take into account when viewing the progress of their relationship. so it does seem awkward at best for ana and christopher to already be introduced, though, to be fair that is a personal preference per adult and all ( and i’m sure expedited on the grounds that this season is already reportedly shortened ) and doubly so because i think the whole introduction was definitely expedited as a way for eddie to deal with christopher’s discomfort. 

the other thing, and frankly, the big thing for me with christopher in relation to eddie’s dating situation is that we know that while eddie is definitely, pointedly making an effort when it comes to showing his emotional vulnerabilities to christopher and being able to talk out situations, he’s not always great at employing those tactics versus pretending things are alright as to not unsettle his child’s perceptions. and i kind of feel like, for all the buck & christopher scene was very sweet, we kind of deserved eddie and christopher having a legitimate conversation about dealing with the grief of both the loss of relationship with shannon and the actual, physical loss of shannon, which is........never addressed. like we get eddie speaking to his therapist, and we get eddie’s conversation with bobby, but outside of that we don’t get a whole lot of closure on that, let alone with christopher specifically. which makes it seem like it was simply........not talked about between the two of them, aka the two people who should have been having that conversation in order to pave the way to ana being introduced as eddie’s new girlfriend.
