004 Snowpiercer Character Headcanon Biography : The Franco Brothers +++ Before they served as the loyal and unquestioning minions of Minister Mason and acting as her muscle aboard the Snowpiercer, the Franco Brothers once served a lengthy tenure within the Russian Armed Forces before having themselves honorably discharged and subsequently working as private mercenaries for hire for a secret private military company based in Berlin. With their origins in a village near the Ural Mountains of Siberia, the brothers grew up having a natural tolerance for sub-zero temperatures and trained themselves by doing outdoor chores during the winter wearing only minimal layers of fur. Despite the ten-year age gap between the elder and the younger Franco, the two brothers are extremely close and are never seen apart from each other. Rumours swirled around the settlers of their hometown that their relationship was beyond fraternal, but they could not speak it out loud because not only were the two brothers physically intimidating, their father was a former high-ranking officer of the Gulag and thus, the villagers dared not risk speaking such blasphemies lest they valued their lives. When the Francos were old enough to move out of their hometown, they did not hesitate in enlisting to the Russian Armed Forces. Passing the physical and mental requirements with ease, the two siblings trained hard and served Mother Russia well for many years. Between them, the brothers have racked up an impressive amount of enemy kills that earned huge respect from their testosterone-fueled peers. But even after years of active combat duty and incapcitating hundreds of men without remorse, the Franco Brothers craved a new challenge and thus requested to their commanding officers that they be honorably discharged from service. Upon their departure from the army, they immediately heard word from their underground connnections in the Russian mafia that there was a private military company with their headquarters in Berlin looking to hire mercenaries. Grabbing this opportunity, the brothers flew to Germany and jointly applied for the position and were immediately hired on the spot based on their impressive military background and amiable ties to key organized crime members in Russia. But just three months in to their newfound career path, they were soon called for a priority job by a VIP client. It was at this period that the Franco Brothers were hired as the official bodyguards to Ms. Mason of Wilford Industries. The brothers were very familiar with the company given that the transportation empire was responsible for significantly improving the Trans-Siberian Railway. Keen to serve their rather imperious mistress under the lure of a very high salary and other great opportunities, the brothers adjusted to their new job quickly and in turn, received preferential treatment from Mason as evidenced by her insistence that the two must always be impeccably dressed in bespoke suits and their rather rugged countenances expertly groomed to perfection. And when the catastrophe that was CW-7 began to destroy the planet, the brothers were granted a place with their power-hungry mistress in the Front Section of the Snowpiercer. Despite the end of the world, the brothers did not lose their jaded personalities and did not see their life on board the train as any different as their previous life on Earth. Ruthless and diabolical, they effortlessly exacted the cruel punishments towards the train's transgressors under the orders of Minister Mason. In their spare time, the elder and the younger Franco prefer to lounge in the Swimming Pool and Sauna Sections, make regular visits to the Custom Clothing Section to have the tailor outfit them with new sets of suits and accessories, or grace their presence in the Nightclub Section where they would have their pick of the nubile young women (and sometimes men) willing to give them pleasure in the privacy of their Executive Class guestroom. +++ Many thanks to the guys over at twogoodarms, and also to fyeahsnowpiercer for regularly liking and reblogging my Snowpiercer posts.
