01. The Original Screenplay For "Snowpiercer" Gives Little Description Of The Train Aside From The Engine

01. The original screenplay for "Snowpiercer" gives little description of the train aside from the engine car’s “silver, sleek rounded, bullet-shape nose”. The spare description gave the film’s art team a great deal of latitude to dream up a number of different designs for the titular vehicle that houses humanity’s last survivors. One of the initial designs accentuates the train’s sleek curves, suggesting its ability to move at high velocities with little wind resistance. 02. The Greenhouse Section’s surface is comprised almost entirely of windows to allow maximum light to enter and sustain the plants inside. 03. Exterior design of the Lounge + Salon Section. 04. Exterior design of the Swimming Pool Section. Similar to the Greenhouse, the Swimming Pool Section has plenty of windows to allow passengers to sunbathe during the daytime. 05. The cars that compose the Tail Section for the lower classes seem to riff off the look of contemporary livestock cars. Note the slat-style windows along the top, allowing air circulation but no real visibility. 06. Close-up detail of the Snowpiercer's wheels at the nose of the train. 07. In the original screenplay, the engine car’s nose transforms into a “sharp arrow-headed lance” to break through ice and snow. Although the final train does not feature this shape-shifting device, early designs show that the filmmakers did consider a piston-driven lance and a Giger-esque biomechanical aesthetic. 08. In the end, the final version that appears in the film bears a slightly more biomechanical aspect with a face-like design at its front.

"This is Mason's inner life. Mason never dies, you know. Mason just goes to the Club Section..." — Tilda Swinton explaining her surprise secondary role in 'Snowpiercer' as one of the partygoers in the Nightclub Section (see video here). +++ Now I just have this crazy headcanon of Minister Mason just transforming from her dowdy and ugly-looking prime minister persona to that of a fierce, flawless, and glamorous party bitch whenever she graces her presence in the Snowpiercer's Nightclub Section. Just imagining her looking so surprisingly stunning and just stylishly dominating above all the other Front Sectioners in the Nightclub Section; her intimidating and glacial features starkly highlighted by the blue strobe lights of the train's party wagon while draped in custom couture clothes with the bangin' fur trims, exclusively provided for her by her superior Wilford, the Divine Keeper of the Sacred Engine.

Color Study : Chris Evans bathed in sexy fuchsia nightclub lights in "Snowpiercer".
Apparently it's been touted as the 'official website' for Snowpiercer in the US because it's been featured on the US Snowpiercer Facebook page and I have to say it's really unimpressive as far as marketing the film is concerned.
I've been to the Korean and Japanese sites of Snowpiercer last year, and they looked WAY better than the Tumblr blog that TWC made to market the movie. Granted, they do reblog content from the fans but it's just not enough. The American distributors could have AT LEAST made the effort of building an actual promotional site for the movie from scratch but I guess because TWC didn't get what they want (dumbing down the film for American audiences), they're passive-aggressively striking back with this shitty-ass marketing strategy
I just posted a list of screening dates that I found on http://snowpiercer-film.com/ and I don’t know what to think about this site.
Is that a super high-quality fansite, or an official website that reblogs content from fansites, edits from fans, and shows wayyyy too much about the Front section?
