2 tired to argue with them but yeah. block transgenderer. if you DONT know whats wrong with this post, "#landback" is about giving indigenous people autonomy over their lands and lives. as activist jesse wente says, "Land Back is really about the decision-making power. It’s about self-determination for our Peoples here that should include some access to the territories and resources in a more equitable fashion, and for us to have control over how that actually looks." (x) it is NOT about ethnonationalism or "doing a reverse colonialism", and saying that is buying into white fear of retribution rhetoric that, upon the instatement of equal rights, minorities will take revenge and try to oppress white people back. this is, first of all, not a good reason to continue a legacy of oppression and deny people autonomy, especially considering it has no basis in the reality of what activists are fighting for, and second of all it is LITERAL white supremacist/white nationalist rhetoric so this person has absolutely no business calling other people ethnonationalists.

literally this is inexcusable esp since 90% of landback resources begin with 50 paragraphs trying to assuage this very reaction so clearly this person is either trying to contribute to a conversation they are COMPLETELY uninformed about and have done no research on based on a kneejerk reaction to the slogan, OR they HAVE done research and their anti indigenous bias is so strong that literally every landback advocate telling them what the movement was actually about flew right over their head. it doesnt really matter to me honestly

How a female-only line of salamanders 'steals' genes from unsuspecting males

So I just discovered that there's a kind of salamander that takes entire genomes from males of different species and mixes them up however it pleases. I can't even say it's a "species" because a single individual can have the entire genomes from four different species knocking around in it, so scientists just refer to the "unisexual" members of the genus (because they're all female).

We don't even know what salamander they're originally descended from, because at some point they threw that genome out. Only the mitochondrial DNA are the same in this fucking ship of Theseus of an amphibian. Please keep in mind that it's commonly accepted that the whole purpose of an organism is to propagate its DNA. This salamander said NOPE.

This doesn't make sense. This isn't how species is supposed to work for any organism, let alone an animal. What even is this salamander????

Okay, but imagine a medieval adventure fantasy where asexuals sell their services to parties who have to travel past sirens/incubi/succubi in order to fulfill their quests.

Imagine young witches and warlocks going through a final wizardry test where they have to square off against every magical creature they’ve ever learned about, and everyone is really confused as to how that one team just strolled past the sirens/incubi/succubi, and also as to why afterwards they high-fived, said “Aced it!” and then laughed for ten minutes straight.

Imagine a villain dousing a hero with a love potion and then unshackling her, expecting mindless devotion, only to have her then stab him and say “I’m aromantic, actually.”

Imagine an incubus carefully choosing a target and ending up on her couch with a tub of ice cream as she assures him that he is really good at his job and he can’t help it that he happened to pick an ace target.

Imagine an ace sailor who has to tie up his companions in the hold and sail the ship by himself whenever they encounter mermaids, and since it’s just him it’s really slow going, and he spends the entire time griping about allosexuals to the mermaids, who in turn gripe about how sick they are of having to target sailors before the sailors target them.

Imagine a love god trying to set up a pair of aro ace soulmates and putting them in increasingly romantic and/or risque situations, only to pull his hair out in frustration as they ignore or fix every situation and just become better and better friends.
