gray i so did not get sappy as hell over this and totally don't think i need to cry over him for next several days now

it’s only the beginning of the cold nights at the dawn winery. though still at the start of the autumn season, winds from dragonspine bring in an early cold; somewhere between not quite being able to get away without a jacket when headed outside and freezing beads of dew on the wilting grapevines. if it weren’t for the warmth coming from inside, the windows may have been kissed at the edges with frost.

the warmth of the large kitchen is reminiscent of happier times diluc can’t dwell on but is all together something new for him.

his brother isn’t leaning on the counter opposite him, picking at treats adelinde had made and tried to hide from them till the next day. their father isn’t ushering both boys into the kitchen to ensure they learn how to cook and help prepare a meal properly, lest they become too spoiled, but yet, he’s not alone. 

the heavy doors leading into the parlor, the floor under his feet, and the hanging glass on the ceiling are as they were before diluc was even born and though the smell of vanilla and sugar has lingered in the air here many times, it’s never been as sweet as it is now.

then again, whenever you are around everything seems different to diluc. more than he would have dared to dream of not long ago and couldn’t possibly let go of now. not when you had taken his heart and held every broken, burning, piece with gentle care, like it was your honor to do so; when you had gifted him your heart in return despite his bloodied and scarred hands; how unworthy he believes himself to be.

but it’s impossible for those thoughts to linger for long when staring at you and having you within arms reach. so impossible when your love has given hope, desire, acceptance, to each dark corner and scorch mark of the manor and to the uncrowned king who resides there. 

he can feel your warmth and joy even though your focus is entirely on whisking ingredients you’ve prepared together. there’s a hint of your shampoo lingering with the sugary air that fills his lungs in an intoxicating mixture. it would be so easy to reach out to hold you like only he is able to, like he has longed to do since falling for you and that has only become a constant burning need since professing his love.

as if your heart knew the sound by memory, and your quite certain it had, it skips a beat at the familiar tap of dilucs boot as he takes a step closer together to you but you swear it stops completely when the next moment you feel one of his gloveless hand enveloping yours, halting your whisking before you let go of it all together. his other arm wrapping around your middle and pulling you away from the edge of the counter top and against his chest instead.

he’s so warm and almost too gentle in his grip, as though he might break you if he were to use another ounce of his strength but desperately wants you as close to him as possible. marred fingers caress the shape of your jaw with the same delicate and adoring touch until they settle under your chin.

you melt into his touch, press into his chest to feel more of him.

diluc says your name, soft and tender in a way you’ve never heard him use with anyone but you; full of overwhelming devotion and a lilt of vulnerability that bares his very soul to you.

before you can move or speak, diluc lifts your chin and squeezes your hip in his other hand. still so careful in his movements, needing not to coax you closer. he’s thoughtful in the angle this puts your neck in, leaning down to meet you until you’re sharing breath, can see the dust of pink on his cheeks and feel the tickle of soft locks that paint your world in crimson whos only rival is the deep ruby luster to his eyes that linger on yours for a moment, dropping to your lips and back again.

Another add on. So sorry that I'm posting this the day before Natlan!! I'm kinda taking a break from genshin and focusing a bit more on my personal life. I hope you enjoy!

Charlotte: Before when Charlotte was a journalist, she aspired to be a baker in her much younger youth, but as she got older, she realized the slight difficulties, and her love for baking was quickly swept away by her curiosity in journaling.

Chevreuse: Chevreuse secretly looks up to Clorinde a lot, especially during her early days of being a part of the security. But of course, she'll deny any accusations of her admiring the duelist.

Chiori: Despite Chiori secretly having a soft spot and able to go easy on customers who are harmed. Kids are a different story... the designer has always noticed a twinge of fear in children's faces. She's been lectured to smile more when complaining about her problem.

Clorinde: When Clorinde was growing up, she secretly really liked scrapbooking and writing about her day. She would spend countless hours in different shops picking out pretty stamps or patterned paper before designing the pages, feeling the satisfaction as she could finally write and dwindle on what stickers to choose. Those days are long gone, but she still keeps all her journals with them

Emilie: Surprisingly, Emilie wasn't born with the hair fading into pink! It was due to a rebellious faze with her parents, but she inevitably got attached to the pink hair, that and it was hard for her to it get out.

Freminet: Found it hard gathering hobbies other than diving. Music making, journaling, archery. It was all so tiring to him! But one thing he did found interesting was baking! Specifically baking bread. Though the only people who know are Lyney and Lynette with their peeping eyes.

Furina: Secretly really likes big flamboyant makeup, almost like drag or even juggalo, but got a bit anxious about wearing it, especially since she was a celebrity to her people, but now, as she has a simpler life as an actress. She's begun to lean more into that crazy style!

Lynette: As Lynette got older and her shows with her brother got bigger, as well as their style in fighting and tricks, one of the main problems they found was props. Of course, they were all over the globe! But as a secret child of The House of Hearth, props weren't the main problem... thankfully! Lynette soon learned how to draw and created her and Lyney's customized magic cards!

Lyney: When Lyney was younger and felt a bit more rebellious or just bored in The House of Hearth, he would buy any fake temporary tattoos that looked neat to him. He would always show Freminet and say that he could create new ones whenever they faded. The blond always believed him while his dearest sister just shook her head.

Navia: One of the main reasons Navia spends her long hours in the bathroom isn't for her hair or makeup, but for her concerts! She loves to sing and bathe in comforting bubbles, either reminiscing on memories or just having a laugh to herself.

Neuvillette: As Neuvillette became the Ludex, he found himself bored and envying some of the Fountaine folks who talked about their new hobbies or interests. Inevitably, Neuvillette found himself researching and taught himself how to create jewelry. Before just as a gift for Furina and her flamboyant self, now turning into a personal comfort and charm for different accessories.

Sigewinne: When Wriothesley was growing up in the fortress, Sigewinne couldn't help but notice his scratched up clothes, especially with how big he was growing! As a result, Sigewinne learned how to sew and made him some new clothes, as well as just learning in general with clothing for herself or for younger kids.

Wriothesley: When Wrio was younger and an orphan, he had no clue how to write, let alone read. So when he was brought into his new family, he was ecstatic to learn from his siblings and read any sort of fairytail. But after his murder and trial, he found it hard to get back into writing or reading due to his memories of his family, but Sigewinne taught him how to learn and love again every slow step of the way.

Well Heizou has a strong sense of intuition- you're not telling me that in his training days with his clan he did not exploit this and take no damage in battles?? i’ve had an obsession with xiao recently

i would imagine that asking him out is difficult, yeh? he’s got a whole lot of that “karmic debt,” so I would imagine that there’s a lot holding him back (and maybe even more).

this kinda turned out to be and short sad fic with a fluffy ending ( ˊᵕˋ )

When Xiao first met you he brushed you off and treated you like every other mortal that he’s encountered. It wasn’t until you kept coming back to talk to him, sometimes with almond tofu, that he noticed you were different from others

At first he kept trying to ignore you, hoping you would just go away like all the other mortals did. But that proved to be useless after your 12th visit. He eventually started to respond to your silly little rambles and stories, and over time he looked forward to your almost daily visits to the Wangshu inn

It wasn’t until you confessed that you grew feelings for him that he started to overthink about his feelings for you and how they would affect your safety.

He can’t have feelings for you! He’s a dangerous Yaksha and you’re a delicate mortal that could perish at any moment! What if his karmic debt rubbed off on you? What if he was putting you in danger by simply being around you! He couldn’t stand the thought of losing you… After a long night of thinking, he decided it was best for the both of you that he stopped all communication with you.

It started off with him cutting your almost daily visits into weekly visits by avoiding you, which eventually turned into monthly visits until he was avoiding you all together.

When you realized that he was avoiding you on purpose you were heart broken. Was it because you confessed? Did he not feel the same? Thoughts started to fill your head

“Of course he didn’t feel the same! Why would he love someone like you?”

It had been 1 week since completely he stopped talking to you Xiao was reminiscing on past memories of you. How you would smile when he shared his almond tofu with you, or how you would tilt your head a little to the side when you didn’t understand his sarcastic remarks, and how you would get a sparkle in your eyes when he invited you to clear out hilichurl camps with him.

He felt an ache in his heart when he would think of you. He knew he missed you but he couldn’t risk putting you in danger. It wasn’t until he couldn’t control the sadness in his heart that he decided to check up on you.

So he teleported outside your house “It’s just one visit.” Xiao said to himself. He walked up to your front door with his heart racing and eager to see you again

Just as xiao was about to knock on your door, you opened it A look of surprise was on your face as you looked at Xiao. You didn’t expect him to be standing outside your house.

Xiao also had a surprised look on his face, but not for the same reason. Xiao felt a wave of guilt hit him as he saw your tired puffy red eyes, and cheeks wet with tears. It was clear that him avoiding you had done more bad than good. He felt horrible

"Xiao? What are you doing-”

before you could finish your sentence Xiao (much to your surprise) pulled you into a hug.

“I-I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to make you cry, i just wanted you to be safe, away from me”

You pulled away from the hug.

“Xiao..is that why you were avoiding me?”

He nodded

“I just…I know how delicate mortals are and i didn’t want my karmic debt affect you”

you grab his hands and hold them tight

"Xiao..I don’t care about your karmic debt, I love you, I’m willing to endure your karmic debt if it means i can be with you”

Xiao blushed, he’s never felt so loved and cared for before, he was head over heels in love with you. He pulled you into another hug before he kissed your forehead.

Maybe it’s time for him to admit defeat and let you stay by his side.

It was a cold night in Mondstadt, not cold enough for snow but cold enough to keep most people off the cobblestone streets, and into bars or their homes. You were in your kitchen putting the apple pie you so lovingly made for Diluc into a white box with a bright red bow on the lid.

You hoped tonight would be the night that he would notice all your advances and hints about your feelings towards him, it was tedious to keep waiting for him to notice. Too many times you have gone to bed feeling annoyed at his obliviousness to your signals.

You snapped yourself out of your thoughts and grabbed the now neatly wrapped box and the Gray valley sunset drink that you made for him and exited your house being careful not to drop the pie or drink.

You began to think about Diluc again, he’s been your best friend since you two were teens and over the years you’ve grown a crush on him. He was always so nice and caring towards you, which comes as a surprise to most considering most know him for being cold and emotionless. But he’s never been like that towards you. Once again you were snapped out of your thoughts as you can hear Donna talking about Diluc

Although you don’t have anything against Donna liking Diluc, you find it annoying to constantly hear her talk about him. But you try not to dwell on those thoughts as you try to hurry before Diluc closes the bar.

You carefully make it up the steps before speed-walking to the entrance of Angle’s share. You make your way inside and notice no one inside, which means Diluc was about to close. Diluc was about to tell whoever just entered to leave before he turned around and saw you.

“Hello, y/n, what brings you here?”

“Hi, Diluc! I’m here to drop off a pie I made for you, and I brought you a drink too”

You handed the pie and drink to Diluc with a warm smile while he had a small look of surprise on his face

“Thank you y/n, how thoughtful of you.”

He said as he took the pie and drink setting it on the counter and then going back to getting ready to close the bar.

You frowned, his reaction wasn’t what you expected. You sigh,

“I guess I’ll have to tell him myself..”

“Hey, Diluc…Can we talk for a second?”

He stopped what he was doing before looking up at you.

“Yes? What’s wrong?”

“Diluc…”

“I really like you. And I just want to know if you feel the same”

“…”

You did it. You told him. It wasn’t as romantic as you wanted it to sound but at this point, you were done waiting for him. But now you were nervous, you could hear your own heartbeat and you could feel your face heating up from the pressure.

“I’m…Sorry y/n but I don’t feel the same... you are my friend and I don't see you in any other way."

"Oh.."

“T-that’s alright! I just needed to get that off my chest.” You said glancing to the ground, too upset to see his face.

“I’ll be leaving now..have a good night” You said quickly as you turned around to leave.

“Wait y/n”

You stop and look over your shoulder

“…I’m sorry”

You turned back to face the door before you let yourself out.

Once outside you feel the cold air hit your face, cooling your cheeks and the tears you didn’t know you were shedding.

You sigh as you walk back home with blurry eyes filled with tears.

Neuvillette is the type of partner where if you were to play with his long precious locks he'd just DIE. (not literally obviously). He loves your touch and if you were to put little bows in his hair like the melusines he wouldn't change it. He would love it if you didd his hair for him every morning. If you wanted to braid it, he'd totally be at your will. Overall just play with this mans hair he loves it, (pls he's secretly begging).

Lyney Headcannons

Lyney would always have his mind filled with you. Whenever he's not coming up with tricks for his shows, he's coming up with ways to get you blushing. He also always takes you out on the most romantic dates ever to exist. Also somehow would always have a rose for you, you definitely get roses daily. He would also buy you a front row seat for every show (you better go). Also he will preform new tricks just for you and ask for your honest opinion on them. He's very romantic and comes up with new pick up lines everyday. BUT if you say some back he just stops functioning.
