I grew up on fighting games but I've always been much better at some of them over others. I adore the aesthetic and lore of the Blazblue universe but sadly I kinda suck at the actual games.
But I love her ๐

Dragon Age: Origins (2009) dev. Bioware

I'm British but memorised all 50 states, and their capitals, for some random reason as a teenager and have just somehow never really forgotten them.
Channelling my inner Ryan Butcher apparently! Have never tried to do either alphabetically or geographically though, I just do my best to remember in whatever random order I can.
Don't think I would do anywhere near as well on European countries. And I would be very very close to zero for British counties ๐
The states have much better names and just the one 'shire'.
inspired by the quiz i saw for the countries!
take this quiz to see how many USA states you can name in 10 minutes, because i was curious to see if i still remembered. i got all but blanked on wyoming, maryland, and oklahoma. (and i only got nebraska, missouri, and mississippi in the last 10 seconds. when i blank out i BLANK out.)

I saw I Saw The TV Glow last night, a while after being intrigued by a review of it by one of my fave youtubers. I went in knowing the message it was intending to convey but I don't want to spoil it here so I'll just say that I really enjoyed it and both the message it wants to share and many points beyond that were so coherent and vivid to me. It's a slow, intriguing, bleak, hopeful, frustrating, sweet, funny mix wrapped in a neon pink glow. I found myself smiling at little moments so much despite expecting it to be much more the opposite.
One of the things I knew I'd love though is the heavy 90s nostalgia and the focus on two things in particular that I adore so much from my past, and which had such a defining impact on me: Buffy and Smashing Pumpkins ๐ฅฐ I was literally Captain America-ing all over the place with so many cute nods, homages, tiny cameos, and clever depictions of how an awkward but immeasurable bond can grow from the magic of fandom. Perhaps not a film for everyone, it's very unique in style, but such a gorgeous nostalgia-fest for two great loves of my life and such an important message for everyone wrestling with their own sense of self.
