At a loss for words, he could part his lips and refuse Enkidu, tell them that a man who had been built off of calamity and tragedy could not have existed as a gift. It would have been such a cruel thing to say however, to himself, and to Enkidu who loved him dearly. Eyes fluttered shut, a laugh gently pushing past his lips, hardly louder than a breath. Arms slid around Enkidu’s waist, pulling them closer as he contented himself to their shared embrace. He felt at ease, whatever doubt he held within his mind subsiding within that moment. Enkidu thought him to be something positive, and truly, was that not enough? To be loved so truly, Merlin was still acclimating himself to the feeling of it. It was akin to relearning a tongue he had long forgotten yet still absolved himself to comprehend.
❝ I’m not so sure about that, ❞ he began softly, ❝ but it sounds nice. so I’ll keep it close to me. ❞ To be loved was something new for Merlin. No, he had been loved before, yet Enkidu’s continued acceptance of every facet of his was odd (Merlin half-expected them to draw back at any moment, but they never did). ❝ I think you’re the greater gift. I mean, you preserve the world in ways I could have never imagined. You’re literally of the earth, Enkidu. ❞ A laugh, louder this time, playful and at ease.

One could never question the sheer power of the generosity of Ozymandias, King of Kings, when he went so above and beyond!
