I like to think the boys retained their interests in science and the mechanics of the world/univers in different ways.

I think Dust would be triggered by anything too morbid, but he'd really like chemistry. He can prattle off about theoretical/quantum physics as well as the next sans, but thinking about that is all too much like thinking about their dreams to reach the surface... It's a shame they're all dust now. They don't get to dream anymore. Because of him.

And he got to see the surface anyway. Because of an opportunity someone as horrible as him doesn't deserve. That's how it is from Dust's perspective, at least. Chemistry keeps the math, and the curiosity, and the excitement, but it's less... Ambitious. It has concrete answers, less theories. (Less dreaming.) I think he'd like that.

I love the idea of Killer developing an interest in the stars and the weather. Because hell, quantum physics has long gone to the wind, he's seen all the theories he needs to see... Besides, that all feels like someone he isn't, now.

But I think seeing the surface, he'd be enamored. He wants to know how the sky works, what stars are made of, how are there so many? Why does it rain? Why does the snow on the surface melt? Why do some clouds look different than others?

He has so many questions, he's so silly.

Nightmare realizes he can't even answer half of Killer's questions because he really hadn't invested much time in learning about the physical aspects of a surface world. He likes to learn more about people. And what makes them miserable.

I think Horror still retains the majority of his knowledge about theoretical physics and such, it's just... Harder to talk about now. I think he really falls in love with gardening and cooking and the science involved in those things... (I think he and dust should bond over the chemistry side of those things.) He likes talking about theoretical physics when given the opportunity, but most of the boys aren't very enthusiastic about discussing something that was such a big part of their past. Their good lives. The ones they "ruined."

He definitely gets to talk about it with Nightmare though. Nightmare likes hearing the theories he favors. Being a strange Eldridge god only really of their worlds in form rather than matter, he finds the ideas fun. He's curious on where these mortals think a being like him could hail from... Not that he really knows either.

I also think Cross is significantly less of a nerd than the rest of them because he's swap based, but he really likes to read. Not necessarily fiction, but I think he really likes romances. Because he's a silly lil homo. I do think he'd like studying anatomy and art history books too though.

THEY’RE FINALLY HERE‼️ Meet Inkblot (Blot for short), the dad of all time, the saddest not-sad guy there is, and depending on how you feel about their unrelenting support of the Beings Who Watch, the most infuriating person alive !!

I resisted the urge to make 1632 more pj designs instead to show y’all the other most important character to the story, the very plot hinges on their actions (or lackthereof)

- Blot is a bit (A LOT) of a workaholic, needing to be busy and having something to do at all times, and considering the fact that he kinda isolated himself from everyone, his job was the only thing he’s had to stay active for a while (until he found PJ that is)

- He is 1 singular inch taller than canon Ink, just because

- Neither of his eyelights are able to turn blue 💙 (he also cannot cry, not normally at least)

- Currently, he isn’t actually called Blot in-universe by anyone, it was a nickname suggested by my friend (hi Shay!!!) in a discord server that has so many Ink variants we needed to differentiate. It does very well have a place in the lore tho, and for that reason I wouldn’t actually recommend calling him Blot to his face ;D

- Even with his years-long halt in socializing, Blot is as energized as ever with all characters he does end up interacting with, his behavior dips into unsettling territory sometimes tho. He’s just a really positive guy nothing to worry about
