Gia's Face Lit With Surprised Pleasure As She Laughed At His Pun. That Certainly Wasn't The Reaction
Gia's face lit with surprised pleasure as she laughed at his pun. That certainly wasn't the reaction she'd expected, but she was glad of it. If there was anything Gia detested, it was stiffness of spirit - something her father had always been. It relieved her to find that the Sheriff was not. "I'm quite sure of it," she responded through a grin. "If there's one thing I know about fangs, it's that they weren't meant for boredom." She wasn't especially bored in her wolf form, either; she wasn't supposed to be. She was free. Vaguely, she wondered if that's how it might feel to be a vampire in his element. "A wolf in sheep's clothing, no less," concurred Gia, tilting her head to one side, eyes twinkling. "Vera and I have struck up something of an unlikely friendship, I'll admit, but I've never had a problem with vampires. When you get down to it, we're not much different, are we?" She might have been referring to something perfectly human - Gia wasn't concerned what she was saying was about to unmask the werewolf conundrum to any human stragglers, but the other virtue of their situation was that the only ones who could hear them up there, over all the chaos, were other vampires and werewolves. "Oooh," Gia sat forward eagerly to make her order. "Just a Jack and coke, please," she said quickly. "Thanks!" Gia watched with curiosity as a young vampire trickled up and Kol interacted surrepticiously with him, soon grinning. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she also wasn't sure she should ask. She didn't want to overstep and she was quite sure there were things she wouldn't want a vamp asking her about the way wolves did things so she watched with interest, choosing to take life - as always - as it came. Still, she couldn't say she was displeased with the way Kol was now looking at her - in fact, she preferred it. Gia liked to know what she was dealing with, she liked an open countenance. "The one and only," she responded lightly. "Gia Desstrin, cast off rich girl, former human disaster, always she-wolf, and alcoholic extraordinaire," she added, happy to poke fun at herself. "And you are Kol Svansson, vampire, Viking, and Vera's Maker," she said, pleased with herself for having found three 'v's to fit into that list. Gia she shrugged, inviting him to share or not as he pleased.

Screaming, Gia hugged the younger brunette with delight. "Holly!" she cried. "Loving that dress!" While Gia tended to deck herself out looking more like a biker chick, that didn't stop her from appreciating the easy style that came naturally to Holly. "Oooh, yes!" she agreed when Holly said they had to get Gia on her level. Being the most sober person in the room was not Gia's favorite look. As Holly told the barkeep that Gia needed something, too, Gia slammed her hand down on the bar, shouting, "Hell, yeah!" Laughter was never far from Gia and it broke out now, her eyes dancing. "Tequila, something with tequila." She gestured vaguely, "I really don't care what. I'm here to dance!" Her eyes glinted with excitement. It was hardly a secret that Gia's favorite thing to do was to kick back, drink till everyone looked good, and dance till she couldn't feel her legs. That was her idea of a good night...when she was in human form, anyway. Having a long, relieving pull on her drink, Gia arched her brows at Holly. "You know me better than that, Holly," she joked. "I'm always great!" Gia would like to think that was true, anyway. But it was better to laugh about it than end up being morose. That was the trick of it, she'd learned, and she didn't mean to let it bog her down. Granted, this week had been particular stressful, but that was why she was there, wasn't it? To kick back. But she wasn't going to say that. Gia believed in being positive. "Actually, it's funny, last night I think I drunkenly hit on Kelly," she joked before shaking her head. "I tried to force her into wearing some of my outfits and kept running through the library screaming about how sexy she was. Needless to say, I'm probably banned from the premises and I think your cousin might be rightfully scared of me, now. So, all in all, definitely one of my better nights," she joked, grinning brightly. "Now, tell me about you, beautiful!"
Hey, Bartender! || Gia & Holly (closed)
Holly - despite her now darker tendencies - was still the kind of girl who could light up a whole room. In fact, if you couldn’t see where the actual lights were coming from, you’d think it was the sole light coming off of her that was twinkling against the disco ball above her. Her hand held onto a lemon drop mojito, her drink of choice, and she sipped on it every now and then as she danced to the up beat country music that was playing at Oxford Barr tonight. The dusty rose colored dress she wore was just long enough to not look too promiscuous, and the skirt of it twirled back and forth at she spun around. The thick heel of her Ariat cowboy boots clunked against the wood floor as she danced, but then the sound stopped as Holly’s eyes spotted someone.
“Gia!" Holly hailed at the top of her lungs, bouncing off the dance floor and over to her friend. She threw an arm around her fellow brunette and then leaned her head against Gia’s, "I’m so glad you’re here!" Holly gave a drunken laugh before sipping off her nearly empty drink. "Come on, let’s get you on my level!"
She turned and practically dragged Gia over to the bar and raised her hand up, “Hey, bartender! Me and this sexy woman need a drink.” She leaned up over the bar as she wiggled her empty glass and asked for a refill. And once Gia had ordered something, Holly turned to face her, “How’ve you been?!”
Gia raised her brows, as she waited out the silent conversation between Maker and Progeny. Vaguely, she wondered what it must be like to have so deep a connection with another person, little less one that stretched from century and century with no end in sight. There was a time when such a thought might have made Gia feel impossibly lonely, but not anymore. Rather, she thought of her Pack - her mass of brothers - and smiled softly. Cocking a brow at Vera, Gia smirked. "What did he say? Or, you know," she chuckled softly. "Not say? Just saying, he better be cool with it," she joked, lightly. It really was a joke in all sense, though: as if one little wolf could mess with a 1,000+ year old vampire. Most of her brothers might have warned her that no part of this could be safe, but Gia didn't think of it that way. She wasn't afraid of getting hurt. "To tearing up the town!" Rubbing her hands together excitedly, Gia grasped up the shot, making eye contact with the mesmerizing vampiress and tilted her head all the way back. Bringing the glass down to hit the counter with a satisfying clink, she grinned. "Perfect! I'm ready to start my night. You?"

Tears for Fears | Gia & Brett
Gia couldn't say exactly what she feared, but still her hand stopped at the doorknob, closing around it. Perhaps Gia's best quality was her compassion. When she loved, she loved absolutely and this quality in turn made her distinctly protective. Someone as empathetic as Gia couldn't bear to watch a friend suffer. Gia knew good and well that something was wrong. Brett was generally an upbeat and active person, and yet even someone as socially active as Gia hadn't seen her in days. It was this that had first inspired Gia's anxiety. Unhooking her fingers from around the doorknob, Gia knocked. Her heart was in her throat. Brett's very humanity made her vulnerable to any of a number of threats of which Brett might not even be aware and Gia couldn't help but wonder if something had befallen her. "Brett, are you there?"
