The League of Assassins hideout with the Lazarus Pit has been attacked, with many members suddenly going silent. Of course, this fact makes its way back to Batman.

When the Justice League arrives to figure out what is going on, they find a group of 'metas' throwing a party, all of them with cups filled with Lazarus Water.

As it turns out, the Lazarus Water is actually high quality ghost booze, and a group of specters has decided to set up the current Ghost King's wedding reception around the best source of it.

I found your Isabela Madrigal headcanon and I wanted to say: headcanon accepted, but Bruno knows too and just feels like letting Camilo flounder if it ever comes up again. Consider it a pinch of payback for "feasts on your screams". (Also I bet Isabela totally insulted the quality of Bruno's sand when she was little once and told him not to plant anything in his room)

Bruno only knows because he caught Isabela eating the sand in his room. She prefers sand as the occasional seasoning, kinda like how someone wouldn't want to eat an entire container of basil or whatever, but would put some in their meals for flavoring.

Once he's back after the movie, Bruno and Isabela decide to gaslighting Camilo on whether or not Isabela actually eats dirt. Placing different versions of the dirt and non-dirt food everywhere, switching them out when he isn't looking. At one point, Isabela comes back from gardening with dirt in odd places that really sells the idea to Camilo she might have been eating dirt along the way.

Okay, so I just read a fanfic that had an interesting idea if this is King!Danny.

As ruler of the dead, Danny has control over the dead. Including those who have been touched by death, even if it was something like their heart temporarily stopping. Those he controls (at least the living) are still very aware of what their bodies are doing, and no amount of willpower or mental strength can overcome this power.

So, in his grief and anger, Danny uses this power to control every member of the Justice League who has been touched by death, and it's a lot of them. He forces them to destroy, just as his home was destroyed by their negligence, all the while those controlled are forced to watch as they destroy what they sought to protect. Any contingency plans made by Batman are useless when a different controlled hero gets in the way of an attack they are immune to. They can't even attack Danny, who has walls of supers that he isn't afraid of using as meat shields.

What's worse, no one knows Danny is the Ghost King, and no one knows why he's only able to control certain members. Everyone who isn't controlled is basically going in blind until one of them has a near death experience and is suddenly under Phantom's control.

After being ignored by the Justice League for years and thought of as a scam Phantom finally faces an opponent he didn't win against and his city is destroyed, killing everyone. The monster is heavily wounded by Phantom however as it was a brutal fight for both of them

Danny is heartbroken and in shock while the Justice League face off against this threat and also lose. Eventually they get thier second wind and rematch it and kill the thing, but just barely.

Later a small memorial was held for Amity Park and Phantom was enraged at how small it was. 70,000 people died and this was it? Most of the people hear weren't even mourners. They were press and fake ghost enthusiasts trying to catch internet points for thier viewer count. He hears some redhead say that the people of Amity were scammers and this whole ghost thing was fake. With tears in his eyes he screams, not as Fenton but as Phantom, "I'm fake?!" He grabbed the man by his throat and flew a few feet into the air, "You think I'm fake?! Here! Let's see how fake I am!" His words were dripping venom as he possessed the man and laughed as he used him as a puppet, attacking the people around him with ectoblasts and sending them running away screaming.

Bruce Wayne watched on as some unknown Elderich entity possessed Wally West and began attacking people. So Amity Parks pleas for help as well as the pleas from thier supposedly fake superhero were not just part of an elaborate tourist trap.

Green lantern had some explaining to do. Hopefully it wasn't too late to salvage the situation and save this child.

It was.

So, I've seen people saying Constantine should be the one who knew about it prior, and that's all well and good. But consider: Superman.

After someone learns about Superman's whole 'World of Cardboard' mindset, they decide that he needs a chance to be in a world of stone. Or ectoplasm in this case.

So Superman gets dragged off to War Day. At first, he's a bit hesitant, but then he sees someone get smashed to bits and reform with a wild grin on their face and decides to just go for it. Maybe he even meets some Kryptonians who's spirits became ghosts who encourage him to let loose.

By the end of the day, Superman has never felt more alive, and has a dozen new friends as well. Plus some people who can tell him more about his home planet before it was destroyed.

When the League ends up in the Infinite Realms on War Day, they end up coming across Superman (who had taken the day off) in a headlock with some large ghost. Superman breaks out of the hold by breaking the dude's arms off. The ghost compliments the how clean the break is as he reattaches his arms before going in for another round.

War Day

After Danny was crowned he decided that the truce party had to have a counterpart, after all ghosts became friends mostly through battles, and he assumed that one day letting them fight wouldn't be a bad thing, it might even help stir up some grudges.

This was how High King Phantom, ruler of the infinite realms inaugurated the long-awaited "Day of War" or just "War Day", a moment when the Infinite Realms naturally became chaotic; alliances were allowed but it was not advisable to trust on them.

And of course, you were free not to participate, you just had to put a blue or green band on your arm, or a little green clock in the backyard of your haunt so the ghosts would leave you, your haunt or your territory in general alone.

Danny thought of it as some kind of giant paintball day, only with no paintballs and full of aggressive ghosts with various powers, it was especially exciting since everyone knew there would be no hard feelings after it and they would end up in the king's palace eating sweets as little children.

They usually celebrated it on a day close to any celebration related to death in human world, when their powers were especially powerful and therefore everyone could have more fun.

The problem was that since Danny had human friends (liminals?) who came to play, they didn't really consider it weird when some humans fell into the realms by a natural portal, and since they weren't wearing any blue or green arm bands they were definitely in the game.

For their part, the family of bats along with some League allies found themselves literally standing on a field of war where everyone seemed to be going for the kill, Jason was strangely excited about it, as was Damian.

When Dick asked one of the locals for an explanation, a guy on a motorbike threw him into the air laughing and yelled "LET THE HUNGER GAMES BEGIN!"

Clark is completely oblivious to the fact that Danny and the death god the Justice League is looking for are the same person.

After crashing, Danny transforms back into a human, cutting off any trackable energy the JL could follow, thus leaving them confused as several members of the Justice League Dark work to figure out what happened and set up various sensors so they can track down this potential threat.

Clark, meanwhile, eventually makes his way back to the farm to meet the kid his parents have been talking about. Danny's a bit nervous about meeting someone new, but lets a few small things slip to Clark, namely that he has powers and he wasn't in the best of homes prior to being picked up by the Kent's.

Clark, more than a bit concerned for this child, keeps coming around to see him. He brings over the rest of his family so Danny can talk to people closer to his age.

Over time, Danny opens up more and more, explaining how he gained his powers from a lab accident, how he had to hide the fact he had them from his parents due to their beliefs and practices, how he was left to defend his city, maybe even his entire world, from various rogues to the point he was running on little sleep some nights and failing his classes. He talks about how many of the people he protected saw him as an enemy, and the government even put out laws to give themselves the right to experiment on him. He talks about fighting the Ghost King and taking his place after he pulled his entire town into another dimension. He talks about Dan and his fear of becoming him, that one small mistake could lead to him turning out for the worse. He talks about how he misses his family, but at the same time is relieved he doesn't have to sit through another presentation about how his parents plan to rip him apart molecule by molecule.

Clark talks too, eventually letting Danny know he's Superman. Explaining how he's had to learn to control his powers from a young age to make sure he never hurt anyone. Explaining how he became a paragon, and the standards everyone has held him to. How he's made mistakes, some with worse impacts than others. How he's let his enemies get the better of him. How he's hurt someone for being born. How he's seen his own dark future, where he lets 'the right thing' become something much more twisted. And how he's still doing his best to make up for all his faults, working with a team to make things better.

Eventually, Danny trusts Clark. And after keeping it hidden for so long, he shows him his ghost half. The two share a nice moment, taking a flight around the countryside, enjoying the stars, Danny sharing how he's always wanted to be an astronaut as Clark describes the other planets he's been to.

Of course, Danny turning into a ghost just so happened to trigger every alarm and scanner the Justice League and Justice League Dark set up. And they just so happen to track him down to the farm town of Smallville. Surely Superman can help them stop what must be an intergalactic threat hiding out in his hometown.

In a fight, skulker accidentally throws Danny through a natural portal, and now Danny is stuck at Pluto, what the hell you bony bastard?! So now he has to fly all the way back to earth and hope the satellites don’t pick him up, but it’s actually Hal Jordan who sees him, and when later telling the justice league about a glowing boy in space who doesn’t need to breath and definitely wasn’t a lantern, zatanna cuts him off to mention the urgent need of addressing the insane amounts of dead following what feels like an insanely powerful god of death that definitely wasn’t in this dimension the day before. Bats is obviously the first one to notice they’re talking about the same person.

Back with Danny, he can’t seem to find his way around the states with how tired that flight made him, so he crashed down onto a farm on accident, while two sweet parents see this glowing boy fall from the sky and decided yeah. Might as well have another.

Clark, meanwhile, has no clue that the god of death sending the league into chaos is the same kid his parents have been wanting him to meet back at the farm.
