Poem: It Rained

Poem: It Rained

We weren’t something out of a movie scene

With a shared umbrella on an evening stroll –

We were mutual pity in the bone-chilling rain

Of a dark, unforgiving winter. We were soaked

Through with the sky’s tears and kept on ignoring

Each other’s because the storm wasn’t going

To stop for us until we found dry land and we

Didn’t have time to communicate when we were

Too busy fending for ourselves together, too busy

Together to focus on the other, too busy, too dark,

Too busy, too cold, too busy for cinematic beauty.

Poem: Curtains

From a balcony in the pale blue glow,

we stood, two small figures against

the vastness of the rest of the world,

taking in the soft colors of the sky

that continued to remind us of those

curtains we hung up together

that cast our worlds in heavenly hues,

highlighting the outlines of you and I

when they let in the afternoon sunlight,

as if fabric so thin could ever contain

or replicate the strength of feeling

in our hearts stained blue with sun-streaks,

painted a shade of navy blue as deep

and bold as my heart that overflows for you.

Poem: Coffee Date

For once, I’d like to love you

in a typical way, weekends

with planned coffee dates

in picture-perfect cafes,

where the pink walls match

the rosy tint of my view

of you, leaning forward

from your pillowed rattan chair,

beige as the pastries we share

to indulge in the sweetness

of pastry scents filling the air

between us, the mood pink

and soft and pure like you

with those three packets

of sugar you always stir

into your lattes, welcomingly

warm like your laughter,

carried by the breeze as it floats

through the open windows,

gently welcomed by our lungs.

Thanks for 1k!

Hello, hello!

This blog recently reached 1000 followers, so I wanted to extend my thanks to everyone who has taken the time to read my writing! ^^ :

Thank you for your continued feedback and support! I really appreciate it and will continue to do my best in the future. Also, my asks are open if anyone wants to send in prompts for this week! ^^ :

(As a side note, I hope that the situation with bots improves soon because I blocked nearly 100 bots today ^^")

Thanks again,

Poem: Watch Me

Watch me wither without you

No more.  I have found a peace

Within myself that shows itself

As fire in my eyes.  Watch me

Win my own battles without you

And without wondering if you

Will wait for me at the finish line.
