Just Thinking About How Mauls Last Words Before He Died Were He Will Avenge Us.
Just thinking about how Maul’s last words before he died were “He will avenge us.”

On his deathbed, Maul finally gives up on trying to defeat Obiwan long enough to realize how similar they are and how wronged they were.
Now, whether the Chosen One is Luke or Anakin is debatable because of the context, but either way, they did both avenge Maul and Obiwan.
Luke was able to convince his father to help save him from Palpatine’s force lightning, throw Palpatine to what should have been his death, and damage his breathing system which is probably what caused his death.
If Palpatine had truly died, the prophecy would have been fulfilled. Maul, Obiwan, and countless others would have been avenged.
Palpatine was responsible for forcing Maul to be his apprentice, training him ruthlessly, sending him to the fight where he was cut in half, letting him rot in insanity, killing his brother and apprentice, literal torture, and probably more terrible things I don’t even know about.
Palpatine was responsible for sending Maul to kill Qui-gon (and Maul’s incessant obsession with hurting Obiwan afterwards including Satine’s death and all the Jedi he killed to get Obiwan’s attention), creating and playing both sides of the Clone War (resulting in the deaths of countless clones created only for this purpose and innocent civilians), grooming Anakin to be the next Sith Lord after Dooku and seducing him to the dark side, ordering Order 66 which almost killed Obiwan (and Maul), and forcing Obiwan to live in hiding under the cruelty of the Empire.
Palpatine used both of them and put them against one another. He was the one that ruined both of their lives, directly or otherwise.
When Anakin threw him down the reactor shaft in ROTJ, that should have been it. After Anakin died, there would be no Sith Lords left and the Sith Rule of Two would be forever ended, restoring peace to the galaxy.
This is one of the reasons why I dislike the sequel trilogy in general (for storyline purposes). By bringing Palpatine back in TROS, they broke the canon Sith Rule of Two, invalidated Dave Filoni’s meaningful end to the Obiwan vs Maul rivalry, disrespected George Lucas’ vision of his franchise, implied that Rey could not have been a powerful Jedi without being related to a strong force user, and made the story even more confusing and pitiful.
And J.J. Abrams had the nerve to admit there was no plan for the trilogy, like, yeah, it was obvious😐

So in the Rebels finale, Dave Filoni made it canon that Rex fought in the Battle of Endor and was in Return of the Jedi in the epilogue when Sabine said that “Hera fought in the Battle of Endor, as did Commander Rex.”
With this in mind, I just wanna walk through the “last” time we saw Rex in the timeline.
Han baits this scout trooper and corners him

Rex is around the corner in his rebel gear

Rex puts the scout trooper’s armor on (probably to be undercover if needed)

The imperials have the rebels surrounded and the rebels surrender (Rex is still wearing the scout trooper armor)

Then the Ewoks ambush the imperials and kill them

HOW DID THE EWOKS KNOW NOT TO HURT REX?? HE WAS WEARING THEIR ARMOR. SABINE SAID HE FOUGHT IN THE BATTLE OF ENDOR BUT SHE DIDNT SAY HE SURVIVED
WAS REX KILLED BY THE EWOK’S FRIENDLY FIRE?? I NEED ANSWERS DAVE/JON!!
No because this is very accurate and almost nobody in the fandom wants to talk about this...
Amazing work OP <3
you… really have to hand it to Maul’s nearly suicidal hubris.
first just the tunnel vision and arrogance of thinking he could entice Obi-Wan to come at all? like, the entire Clone Wars are coming to a head. Satine is already dead so he has no personal leverage anymore. Mandalore as a neutral planet is completely strategically irrelevant and the Republic military couldn’t legally land there (EVEN IF THEY WANTED TO AND THEY DON’T). Grievous is still out there. Dooku is still out there. they’re in the middle of the Outer Rim Sieges. what about the man is busy is he not getting??
Maul is like the MOST MINOR bad thing on the mile-long list of bad things Obi-Wan is dealing with.
AND THEN
thinking that Obi-Wan coming would be ANY KIND OF A WIN FOR HIM
Maul lost to Obi-Wan as a padawan, and since then Obi-Wan has spent ten years training and fighting every single day while Maul has spent ten years going insane and eating garbage. he and Savage TOGETHER couldn’t even take Obi-Wan ON HIS OWN. TWO ON ONE and Maul still couldn’t trap and kill Obi-Wan. it took him in collusion with an entire planet PLUS the whole galactic underworld to get Obi-Wan trapped on Mandalore the first time, and Obi-Wan STILL got away.
Ahsoka, a seventeen-year-old, punted him through a window and, unarmed, took his own lightsaber out of his hands. and he originally wanted Obi-Wan to come to Mandalore, BRING HIS ARMY, AND BRING HIS APPRENTICE, who Maul knows is so powerful that Sidious has spent TEN YEARS meticulously grooming him as the final endgame Sith minion.
i genuinely cannot imagine how exactly Maul expected this to go down. it’s got to be a product of his clearly deteriorating sanity. he couldn’t have had any concept of what he was asking for. like what’s the thought process?
sure, i’ll fight Obi-Wan Kenobi (who i have never once defeated one-on-one) and his unstable six foot Sith-influenced murder machine best friend in a two-vs-one death match. no problem! its not like i’ve ever won a duel in my life or anything!!
i hope somebody writes this AU because i desperately want to see it now.
A small gentle reminder that you never ever have to apologize for the size of your body. You’re lovely.
I WANT SCREAM ABOUT ECHO
BECAUSE OF THAT SCENE AT THE SHOP.
I know everyone's laughing at "I am worth more than that!" but seriously, that hurt. That's gotta hurt him, being mistaken for a droid like that. Hunter barely stopping before calling him a military prototype, and actually selling him. Even if he knew Echo could get out, the way that he was sold like he was a droid. If you watch the scene, take a close look at Echo's body language. While he's being led away, even if we can't see his face, looking at how he moves, turns to face Hunter and has to be pulled forwards. It's screaming "I don't want to do this, don't make me go, don't leave me here." Even the restraining bolt, a casual label to say that he owned him. And would the bolt have done anything to Echo? Do you think Echo laid awake at night wondering what would've happened if it had been activated? Or maybe he was just stuck staring at the ceiling with the words "military prototype" playing in his head. Does he think that's how the rest of the bad batch thinks of him? A droid? They certainly don't treat him as well as the others. He didn't even have a bunk before Crosshair left! I'm screaming. I'm gonna scream into the void about Echo and hope maybe the void screams back.
