Goldsmithing Projects As Of Today. The Two Pieces On The Left Are The Top And Bottom Of The Bangle I'm

goldsmithing projects as of today. the two pieces on the left are the top and bottom of the bangle i'm making. the pieces on the right are the link bracelet i've started weeks ago, but havn't been posting any updates.

here's the process of how silver is made to the specifications needed. the two rectangles began as this nice and neat silver sheet my last school gave me. my new school believes in making your own silver, so i had to cut out 100 grams of that tidy and clean silver, then crumble and bend it to fit in the crucible to be melted into raw ingots. i would take pictures of melting the silver into molten liquid and pouring it, but not enough hands-

after the ingots were rolled down to two millimeters thick each, they were uneven and rounded on all ends. i cut out the pieces to be used, but left some of the borders i cut them from so you can get an idea of the original ingot. those borders will be saved in my stash of silver, to be melted and used again and again. --and awesome, i didnt do this on purpose, but do you see that jar on my desk with something gray in it? that's silver dust. even the dust off pieces i am making is constantly collected and kept to be melted and recycled later, restored back to ingot form.

this was the last pic of the link bracelet i posted, from a few weeks ago-

the base form was finished, then after that, i cut it into 8 segments so that it can be reassembled in a different style. still havn't chosen the design for each of the pieces yet. i'll decide on that once i get there, but my choices are pretty much piercings (like the ring), engraving, gemstone settings, or a combination of them.

Client: “I’ve spoken to my accountant, and he said you were too expensive, that he could find me another designer for half your price, but I want to work with you, can we renegotiate?

Me: “How much are you paying your accountant? I’m sure I can find you a cheaper one."

FUCK yeah.
