My Friend Just Pointed Out That Wylan Doesnt Even Play The Piano (see: The Flute Exchange In Six Of Crows),
my friend just pointed out that Wylan doesn’t even play the piano (see: the Flute Exchange in Six of Crows), which makes the Kuwei-Piano-Kiss scene 16x funnier to me. It’s not Kuwei’s fault. Jesper’s just stupid. This is why Wylan was so mad.
“he’s not even that good at science!”
“okay listen Wylan he was sitting next to the piano and-“
“FLUTE, JESPER! FLUTE! I DON’T EVEN PLAY PIANO-“

Heart Of A Villain: Chapter 2
Mal
A certain purplette walked in front of her friends, and just the sight of them made people scatter in terror. Of course, that was part of the advantages that came with being the children of the four worst villains in history. Mal grabbed a lollipop from the baby of a passing mother, moments before the screams of terrified people filled the air. Only one person could make villains more terrified than the purplette and her friends. Her mother, Maleficent. As terrified as they might be around the quartet, or Jafar, Evil Queen and Cruella, it was nothing compared to their terror at seeing Maleficent.
“Hi, Mom.” The young girl turned around stepping in front of her friends, ready to protect them from anything her mother might do.
“I’m so disappointed in you, Mal. Stealing candy from a baby is just being spiteful, not evil. You should know by now that there’s a difference between the two.”
“I know, Mother, and I will try to do better.”
“When I was your age, young lady, I was cursing entire kingdoms. A very fond memory of mine. And it’s about time you make your own memories too.”
“My own memories? Mother, what exactly are you trying to insinuate?” Confusion filled her voice, a confusion she knew was mirrored on the faces of her friends.
“Nothing, dearie. But there’s news. All four of you have been chosen to go to a different school...in Auradon.”
“The joke isn't funny, Mother.”
“Dearie, it isn’t a joke, it’s news.”
“No, no way are any of us going to Auradon. It’s filled to the brim with brainless prissy pink princesses and princes with hero complexes.” Mal protested angrily.
“But Mal, the princes are so handsome.”, her bluenette friend interrupted. The bluenette happened to be Genevieve Evelyn Grimhilde, daughter of the Evil Queen. An expert poisoner and seducer, but the girl had her lame moments.
“They aren’t, and the Auradonians are goody two shoes. I’m definitely not going.” Jay added. He was the chocolate haired and chocolate-eyed boy, the heir of Jafar.
“And they have dogs.” Her friend who had black roots in contrast to his white hair finished, wrinkling his nose in distaste to hide his fear. Carlos was the son of Cruella De Vil, intimidating despite his size.
“Dearies, look at the bigger picture. World domination. Revenge. Suffering.”
“We’re still not going, Mother.”
“Come along, children, back to Bargain Castle. The plan will be explained to you there.” Maleficent snapped her fingers before walking off. The quartet barely glanced at each other before leaving, each worried about what their parents had in mind.
“You will go, you will find Fairy Godmother’s wand and bring it back to us.” Mal’s mother dictated.
“Why should we? There’s nothing in it for us.” The sixteen year old commented, her face schooled to indifference. But inside, her heart beat faster due to the mingling fear and excitement she felt. She didn’t want to go to Auradon, but the opportunities it would present were not ones that she wanted to pass up.
“Don’t you want to rule the world? Don’t you want to have your revenge on the people who took everything from us, the people who imprisoned us? Don’t you want to watch innocent people suffer?”
“We do, but we aren’t going to-”
“Going to Auradon will give you all of it. If you really want it, you will go and bring me the wand. And once I have it, I’ll be able to bend both good and evil to my will with the combined power of my sceptre and the wand.”
“Don’t you mean our will?” Evil Queen interrupted. The woman, she was still a beauty, not a soft one, but one of fallen regality. Age had barely left its mark on any of them, they were immortal in a cruel but regal way. Mal remembered something that her father had told her when she was younger. He had said, “People die with their stories. They will be immortal as long as their story lives on in others.” Maybe it was true.
“Yes, yes, our will.” Her mother’s voice brought her back to reality.
After an exchange of silent glances between the quartet, Mal voiced their joint decision. “Fine, we’ll go.”
With a cynical smile, Maleficent handed her a book. But it wasn’t just any book, it was the faerie’s legendary spellbook. And Mal wasn’t the only one receiving a family heirloom. Evil Queen had handed Evie the only remaining part of her magic mirror, inducing a gasp from the bluenette. The heirloom Jafar presented to Jay was his onyx ring, which would transform into his infamous snake staff when willed to. And as for Carlos, the boy surprisingly received a set of keys. The keys of Cruella’s car, she realised. Her brain had already gone into overdrive, factoring their heirlooms into her scheme.
“Evie, my little evilette, find yourself a prince with a big castle and a mother-in-law wing.”
“I will, Mom.” Her daughter smiled.
“And who’s the fairest of them all?”
“Me. Kidding, it’s you.” The mother-daughter duo laughed in synchrony.
“What’s our mantra?”, Jafar asked his son.
“There’s no team in ‘I’”. Jay recited before grabbing his bag and leaving.
Mal grabbed her already packed bag from her room upstairs. She would miss this place, even though she hated it. Standing on her balcony overlooking her city, she felt a hand on her shoulder. Maleficent breathed down her neck, sending chills down the purplette’s spine.
“The future of the free world rests on your shoulders. Don’t blow it.”
I love you beat up books I love you old book smell I love you yellow pages I love you cracked spines I love you secondhand bookshops I love you library books I love you I love you I love you
Imagine if you will:
Years post Crooked Kingdom, Kaz and Inej are married. One day, Inej brings up the possibility of children. Instead of immediately shutting her down like she expected, Kaz agrees. But instead of having kids biologically, he has another plan.
That night they walk the streets of Ketterdam, and they find the children that have lost parents, that are sleeping in the streets, that spend their days searching for work so they can survive.
They offer the children a hot meal, somewhere safe to sleep. Inej can take them away on her ship if they want, back to their home country, or wherever else they want to go. Or, if they don't have anywhere, they can stay.
Kaz teaches those who stay how to pick locks, and how to find good paying (if less than honest) work. Inej teaches them how to climb and where to walk in the city to stay safe from slavers. Together they teach the children to fight.
They spend weeks on The Wraith all together, freeing the enslaved and travelling the world. There are mass sleepovers at the Van Eck mansion, where Uncle Jesper tells stories of the time their parents broke into the ice court, when they took down the biggest Barrel boss (before the biggest boss was Dad, of course) and Uncle Wylan teaches them how to play music.
They travel to Ravka, where they meet the King, who they can't quite believe once struck a deal with their father. They train with Aunt Nina, who tells them about the fjerdan soldier who gave his life to save her, and shows them her unique power.
Then one day, when their oldest children come to Kaz and ask why they were adopted. He'll tell the story of Uncle Jordie, and how Kaz knew he couldn't watch from the sidelines as the same thing happened to other children, now that he had the power to help.
smh it’s always “I’ll love you until my last breath.” and never “Then I will love her from my grave.”
Wasted Potential in disney descendants part 1;
Okay, so I think we can all agree that despite the fact that we love descendants, it had tons of wasted potential. Mainly because of the writing and limited time they had to show us everything but also because of the bad/incorrect representation it gave some characters. The fact that they decided to state that the sequels, shows, and books to the og disney movies (as well as the ones in the franchise) weren't canon really didn't help. We will be talking about some of that today. Thank @eahravinqueen for giving me the idea in her ask. Okay, let's start with the core four first.
🐉Let's start with Mal 🐉; her entire character is full of wasted potential. And there is one simple reason: they gave her way too much screen time and made everything about her. Which ruined her character in more ways than one. They made her into a spoiled, entitled brat who showed absolutely no remorse for her actions at all. They completely threw away the fun artsy vandal who we loved and sympathized for, and turned her into a woman who was willingly gonna lock the isle kids forever simply because Beast, Belle, and Fairy Godmother wanted her to. They could have taken her character in so many different directions other than making her into what they did. They could have made her into an artsy vandal queen who was struggling to learn how to control her demigod and fae powers. One who wanted to make up for her past actions by apologizing and doing whatever was necessary to prove she was. They could have had her further her relationships with her boyfriend, her friends, and her friends' partners. But they didn't. They could have made her into an awesome Fae-demigod queen who was a perfect role model for little girls. But they didn't. They absolutely wasted her powers and talents and did not push her motivations further, making them and her less likable and one dimensional. Which is a damn shame. They didn't even show her relationship with her cousin and brother. How were we expected to like her when they kept giving us reasons to hate her? Oh and what the hell happened with her outfits? They use to be so cool and now they're kinda bland. They really watered down her character and made her into one who couldn't have a simple fricking conversation with anyone that would fix the majority of her problems. I mean come on, but moving on...
Jay got very little screen time and they hardly developed him past 'Thief', 'tough guy', 'jock', 'flirt', and 'protector' and I feel like they just could have done more in general. They didn't give him more hobbies and they didn't give him enough screen time to ,ya know, further his relationships with his friends and cousin Jade and possible love interest, Lonnie. And that's just a damn shame. They could have done so much more with his character. Like giving him genie powers and allowing him time to explore them. They could have shown where his infatuation with his bike came from and shown him exploring much earlier on than in d3. But they didn't. They didn't show any of that and made him play 2nd fiddle to Mal and that's just sad.
They wasted alot of good opportunities with Evie. They could have delved into her love for fashion more than they did, showed us more of her business, and some of her other interests. They could have done more with her love for chemistry and gave her, her mother's powers. They could have given her more power than she had. Delved into her relationship with Doug and others more. Done more than turn her into a side character who couldn't tell her friend was struggling. Hell, they could have even delved into who her father was and who Jay's mother was, but they didn't. They focused on Mal and wasted a perfectly good character. We didn't even see her role in helping Ben's isle initiative because they focused on Mal too much. They could have done more with her. So much more. She didn't have to play second fiddle to Mal but the writers' forced her to. And it's a travesty.
They wasted Carlos the most out of the core four. He was a techie and an animal lover and a fashionable guy who knows how to sword fight. He has a half fairy girlfriend and a big family, including 3 cousins he would get along splendidly with yet we never see his relationship with anyone outside of his mother. They don't develop his relationship with Jane that much nor do they do that with his friends or dude all that much. They could have used him for so much more. They wasted his brilliant brain so many times and didn't do alot with him. And it's quite the shame. He was just reduced to Mal's friend and not much more and it is very sad. Our brain boy could have changed the world and they killed him off, and reduced him to nothing but a secondary character. And I do not like that. Not one bit. Especially since he is wonderful with children and others, and especially since he is the smartest out of his friends and family. And I wish it wasn't that way. He could have had his own tech company or something. He and Jane could have become veterinarians together or something. He could have had a happy ending. But nope. They couldn't even give him that reason.
