“Is it really so obvious how infatuated I am?” Ace’s eyes are dark as he studies you, madness and love mixing all together into one.

“I mean, I know you’re not oblivious, but still… you weren’t supposed to find out so soon.” He sighs, humming a little tune under his breath as he steps closer to you, blood still coating his hands as he grabs your waist and forces you closer with a smile entirely too gentle for the scene. “Oh well. It was going to have to happen eventually, wasn’t it?”

Your lips are almost touching by the time you come to your senses, eyes wide as you stagger backwards, trying to look anywhere besides the scene behind the ginger.

“Aw, what? Are you squeamish, darlin’?”

Ace chuckles, his grin twisting with something akin to malice - sadistic pleasure, maybe, and he cages you against the wall.

“You don’t have to worry about them, you know. They were just… getting in the way." He hums, leaning into your space and letting out a blissful little breath.

"So I fixed it. For you. For us.”

His words are only emphasized by the crazed laugh that rips its way from his throat, and before you know it he's tilting your chin upward with a bruising grip. Your eyes meet, and it's like he doesn't even recognize the pain in your expression as that soft smile appears back on his face.

Ace leans down, pressing a kiss to the edge of your lips, letting out a lovestruck sigh when he backs off, seemingly satisfied by that bit of contact. It's really as if the scene of gore behind him never happened.

“You’re just… so lovely, don’t you know?”

"Are you really so oblivious?"

It's with a scoff and a glower that Leona regards you, rolling his eyes when he sees no change in your doe-eyed expression.

"Seriously? Stupid herbivore..." He sighs, even as he softens slightly, roughly pushing your head down as he ruffles your hair. "You've got no business looking to anyone else when you have me."

"Huh?" You question, oblivious to what the lion was talking about. "What do you mean, looking to anyone else?"

"I mean, quit gettin' other guys to help you out. Just ask me."

If you didn't know any better, you'd think Leona to be blushing, and you smile a little. Of course he would be the kind to get jealous - you don't know how you didn't guess it.

It wasn't like you had done much - just asked Ruggie to help you out with an assignment dealing with linguistics as you knew it was his forte. You hadn't thought anything of it, but apparently Leona saw it as a statement of some kind.

"Awe, is the kitty getting jealous?"

"Tch." You don't expect him to huff and pull you in close, clinging onto you with a scowl. "And what about it? You're my herbivore. Ain't no reason for you to put your attention on anybody else."

You can feel him smirk against you when you don't say anything else, and you know that he thinks this means he won this little argument.

Malleus.

Really, that was all you had to say. Malleus.

An interesting character, truly. One that you would never see in this position, begging for your time and attention in all that he did. Even if it wasn't obvious to others, once you saw those mannerisms, there was no way to ignore them.

"My love, won't you please just stay with me?"

It's with a sigh that you fix your companion a straight look, absolutely done with him. "Malleus... I just need to go switch the laundry. It'll be five minutes at most. Can you not just wait?"

He seems to pout at that, his eyes gaining a glossy sheen as if he would cry if you left.

"Dear child of man, don't you know that even one moment away from your presence turns into thousands for me? My soul can not bare being parted from you, lest I fall into sickness with the only cure being your company. You complete me, my darling treasure, if only you could see that..."

You roll your eyes before you can stop yourself, scoffing and turning away from him without a second thought.

"Stop being dramatic before I tell Sebek you're here." You start to walk away, not even pausing when you hear Malleus start to overdramatically sniffle, trying to get you to come back.

His constant pleading for your attention was cute at one point but now it was just annoying - thankfully, you were able to tune it out easily with time.

Especially when you would be back with him in mere moments - his flowery language turning from sweet to ridiculous by now.

“How did you even get sick?” Azul sighs, watching the panther in front of him act an absolute fool as he mumbles something about chasing after his cub in the rain. Grim causing more trouble, surely. “You look distasteful. Come here.”

It’s with a heavy knit in his brow that the octo-mer wraps Yuujirou in a blanket, huffing and puffing the whole way, nothing but worried scoldings leaving his mouth.

It’s funny, the panther thinks, how Azul tries so hard to cover up his care with nagging. It's not effective in the least, so it's really just entertaining to watch him splutter over himself and become increasingly less composed.

“Now, go lay right there,” He references the couch in his office, trying futilely to will his cheeks not to go red as Yuujirou starts purring.

“And I’ll keep taking care of you. You’re lucky you have the Tweels wrapped around your finger, truly… Otherwise I wouldn't even consider this, you know. So troublesome...”

“Mmph.” That was a lie, but Yuuji sounds his agreement anyways.

He collapses onto the couch without a care in the world, blearily looking back at the octopus, smiling softly when he saw how red he was. “Thanks, ‘Zul… 's sweet.”

That’s all it takes for Azul to practically combust, sentences starting and stopping all at once before he ultimately decides to hurriedly wave the hybrid off with a sound reminiscent to a dying whale as he ran off to go find the Tweels and get their assistance with taking care of Yuujirou.

It seemed he was even more forthcoming when sick, unfortunately for Azul. Hopefully the eels would take over caring for him until Azul was functioning again.
