Obviously I love the tragedy and devotion involved with Tommy not killing Dream, but you know who doesn't get enough credit in that scene too? Tubbo. Tubbo who had been willing to die to end things and had just celebrated that things were going to finally be over. Tubbo who listened to Dream promise Tommy a resurrected brother and the possibility of protecting Tubbo from even death itself knowing, deep down, it was just a carrot on a stick. Tubbo who didn't question why Tommy hesitated, who knew more than any of the adults who surrounded them what Dream was, and didn't question why Tommy was giving up peace for even a chance at getting something like what things were back.

A Tubbo who you know wouldn't want Tommy to trade peace for a potential safety net for Tubbo. A Tubbo who isn't as close to Wilbur as Tommy but doesn't need to be to understand how that death was an open wound for his friend.

Tubbo, who had been threatened and treated as a pawn and used against his best friend, would have been completely justified in telling his friend to just end the threat. He was so ready for things to end, clinging to that it would end one way or another, and he traded that sure thing away just as much as Tommy.

Because he knew Tommy, after losing his home and a part of his family and a little of himself, needed some hope.

a post on the r/DreamWasTaken2 subreddit made by a user. The title reads "About dream and queerbaiting" the rest of the post reads "Now I don’t think dream is homophobic or necessary gay baiting for profit. But there is a lot of examples of what can only be described as “gay baiting” which go beyond just “homie” jokes. We all know of the constant “dnf” jokes that they keep pushing. There are several arguments against this and I’ll go over them now. “Real people can’t queerbait” If we ignore the fact that the same people arguing this are the same people who claim the word Stan has changed and that words change over time, it doesn’t matter if you use queerbait or gay bait. The point is it is possible to pretend to be gay or allude to it when your not. “Dream is unlabeled” I don’t understand this argument. Is this supposed to say that since he’s ambitious, that he could be gay? But regardless, I don’t know where he said this. Because he’s said himself that he isn’t gay https://www.reddit.com/r/DreamWasTaken2/comments/o0s25s/dreamhangout/ And I believe that George himself has also said that he isn’t gay. And don’t try to say that dream is “uncomfortable” in his sexuality. He said himself he’s is comfortable in a Twitter thread. “There’s no reason to and hes not profiting off it” Yes I don’t see how he profits or what he has to gain besides maybe trying to garner certain types of fans. But just because he doesn’t have a clear motive doesn’t mean he’s not doing it.

a reply by reddit user u/dreamistaken. it reads "honestly I've never really talked in depth about my feelings on stuff like this so I thought I would here because why not I love just discussing things in general. I'm not gay I've said that plenty of times I know that because I like girls, I've dated girls, I am attracted to girls etc etc. however outside of that I've never said anything about my sexuality really and it's simply just because I don't really know. I'm comfortable with who I am and I want everyone to be comfortable with who they are regardless of their gender or sexuality or anything else. I feel like if I was to say anything about my sexuality I'd be pressuring myself into making a "decision" especially when to the general public there's only really a few terms that can be used to "describe your sexuality". When in reality I believe that it's more of a spectrum. I have a really hard time putting myself into one category or even really towards one category more than another, and so I don't want to feel any pressure. I'm comfortable in my sexuality but that doesn't mean that I'm necessarily confident in exactly what that is. I think sometimes it takes time and life experience to actually know exactly where you sit. Though I think that I should be able to make the jokes and stuff that I make regardless of sexuality, whether I was gay or straight or bi or somewhere in between, so I don't really care to elaborate. That being said though, I also think it's important that people don't force others into revealing their sexuality, even if a situation comes up where them doing so could give clarity. My sexuality is ambiguous because it's also sort of ambiguous to me, and I think that's okay."
