"Yeah, okay," Bruce said, looking down at her hand in his. "I love you."
Four months. That was how long it had been since she'd last seen Bruce and it was driving her crazy. Two months prior she had gone to see Hank, thinking she had caught the stomach flu that had been going around. It turned out that that wasn't the case. She was pregnant. She honestly hadn't known what to do, Bruce had already left for a calmer place and she didn't have a reliable way to reach him. Finally, two months later, she was able to get a text through. [text] I need to talk to you asap.
Bruce frowned down at his phone. The woman talking frantically next to him quieted, and he stood. He assured the woman, in Bengali, that all was okay, and he would be right back. He left the woman and his patient and ducked outside, tapping out a reply.
[text] Okay, what’s up? Unless you’d prefer I called?
Take as long as you need to reply.

TAKE AS LONG AS YOU NEED TO REPLY.
DON’T FEEL BAD ABOUT IT.
Bruce reached out and rolled Andie's sleeve down for her, pressing a kiss to the inside of her wrist before he let her take her hand back.
"And you're sure, there's nothing in her blood work?" Bruce asked again, for clarification. He paused, thinking quickly in his worry. "Can I take a look at the blood tests you've done?"

"Let him go all mushy," Bruce joked. "There aren't a lot of babies around here." Bruce opened his mouth to say something to Hank, but Hank spoke before him, pointing to the screen.
"There it is," Hank informed them, tracing around the shape of their baby. Bruce squeezed Andie's hand and leaned forward to get a better look.
