Augusnippets Day 13: Forced to Watch (alt prompt)
Fandom: Percy Jackson
Summary: Luke tries to spare Annabeth during The Titan's curse. Percy can do nothing but watch from his dreams as this happens.
"The girl is of no use to us." A voice said. Percy still wasn't sure who was talking.
"She can be used as bait for the half-bloods." Luke said. Annabeth lay on the ground.
"The goddess will also serve that purpose. There is no need to keep the young half-blood alive. Kill her."
Luke looked distraught. "No. The half-bloods have a personal attachment to her. They are more likely to come for Annabeth; especially Poseidon's son." He walked over to Annabeth. as if he would protect her.
If Percy didn't know better, he'd say Luke didn't want her dead. However he'd ordered her death half a year ago. That couldn't be the case.
The man didn't seem to want to budge. Percy wanted nothing more than step in and save her like she had done for him. However, he couldn't move. After all, this was simply a dream. All he could do was watch and hope that Luke convinced him to leave her alive.
"Leave the young maiden alone." Artemis argued.
Luke looked over the goddess then back to the Titan. He whispered as he spoke. "Please, do not make me kill her."
The Titan didn't move or speak. He just waited for Luke to get over his idea of saving Annabeth and kill her.
"If you will not show her mercy" Luke kneeled in front of the figure. "Show me mercy. I ask you, do not kill my sister." The demigod's voice shook.
Percy felt his blood go cold. Luke was begging for Annabeth's life and he couldn't do anything about it.
"Kill the girl Castellan. Prove to me you can do it or I'll have to report your failure." The enemy's voice was harsher than it had been.
Luke was faced with a choice; kill Annabeth or betray Kronos. Trying to help, Percy started to yell out to Luke and Annabeth. "Annabeth! Annabeth, get up!"
"Annabeth, could be a strong ally. Let me talk to her, maybe she will align."
"Take the deal!" Percy yelled, knowing his voice couldn't be heard.
"Kill that daughter of Athena!" The voice shook though the cavern.
Tears filled Percy's eyes and he saw that they also filled Luke's. This was never really in either of their hands. Taking a look at his sword, Luke raised it. He turned towards Annabeth. "No!" Percy yelled out.
Then he woke up, unaware of Annabeth's fate. Tears fell down his face as he realized there was only one way to find out if she was alive. He would have to go to her.
Augusnippets Day 6: Ship Wreck
Fandom: Percy Jackson
Summary: The Princess Andromeda crashes on the coast of Oregon. Now Luke must find a way off of the ship before it sinks.
Luke wasn't sure what had happened. Maybe Poseidon had finally gotten ahold of The Princesses Andromeda or maybe it had just been an accident. That didn't matter right now. The ship was sinking.
Running out of his quarters, he looked down the hallway. Water was already starting to trickle in. As a wave hit the ship, Luke slammed into the wall. He felt the jolt of the ship, as if it had hit something.
They had been on the coast of Oregon the last he knew. More then likely they still were. There are places on the west coast that the ocean meets cliffs. Standing, Luke made his way up to the deck of the ship. When he opened the door he found that he was right.
They had crashed into the side of a cliff.
The man knew he needed to make sure others could escape. Losing his whole army would be detrimental, at least that's what he told himself as he ran below deck. Knocking on doors, Luke quickly but calmly, tried to make sure everyone was aware of the situation. He paused before Chris's door before just opening it. That man could sleep through a hurricane.
Shaking him awake, Luke informed him of what was going on. "Shit okay." He said as he pulled his shoes on.
"Get above deck. See if any of the ledges can hold people."
"Okay."
Running back to his room, Luke grabbed his shoes and Backbiter. He shoved the sword into his belt and closed the door when he left. The water had already made its way through most of the hall, the carpet being soaked.
Luke could smell the fire. Most of the time the smell of smoke did not bother him. That night, it attacked his lungs in a way it never had before. It burned. Still there was one more door to check. Letting his shoes get soaked, he forced the last door open. Inside a young half-blood was trying to stand. The water had made the door hard to open.
"Come on." Luke offered her his hand. She took it and they ran out of the hall. The water was up to his knees now. As the ship shook, it took the man's feet out from under him. He fell into the water. "I'll be right there!" He yelled after the girl.
"Okay!" She yelled back.
Steadying himself against the wall, Luke used it to get up. With the water at his knees, it was difficult to run. Still, he pulled himself to the door to go above deck. Slamming it behind him, a wave crashed into the sinking Princess Andromeda. The wave sent him to the ground once more. This time the ship started to shift. The deck was no longer even.
Looking around, Like tired to find a way out. Most of the rock ledges looked to smooth. All but one.
All he had to do was make it to the ledge. Using a wall to stand, the demigod tried to climb his way to the cliff. It felt impossible. The weight of the ship was pulling the vessel into the water faster and faster.
"Come on!" Luke heard a voice yell. It was Chris. "Luke come on!"
"I'm trying!" He yelled back, frustrated with the way things were going. Looking around again, he found a rope that have been tied to the side of the ship. He could use that to climb his way to the side and jump to the ledge.
The problem is getting to the rope. As the ship sank, the deck became more and more steep. It felt like rock climbing and Luke wasn't even on the ledge yet.
Still, he found his way to the rope. Wrapping it around his right arm, he started to pull himself towards the side railing. As another wave hit the ship, Luke slipped some. He yelped as the rope cut into his arm. The light yellow color that the rope normally was started to be covered in red.
Despite his injury, the demigod continued to climb the rope. He found himself at the side railing ready to jump within a minute or so.
The jump was a lot further than Luke had anticipated. From further away, the distance looked shorter. However, it was his only way out. Sighing, the man moved as far back as he possibly could. He readied himself for the jump. Looking to make sure the next big wave was as far away as it could be, Luke decided he had to jump now.
As his feet left the ship, the ship started to sink faster. Missing the ledge with his feet, Luke caught the rocks. His hands felt like they were on fire. Blood dripped from the rocks as he pulled himself onto the ledge.
Sitting down, Luke rested his back against the wet rocks. They felt cool against this body. Looking at his hands and arm, he realized just how much they hurt.
After a moment Luke Castellan and looked around. Everyone he cared about was on a ledge against the coast of Oregon. A brief wave of relief washed over him. Now they just had to figure out how to get off of the rocks and back on solid ground.
Augusnippets Day 7: Waterboarding
Fandom: Spy x Family
Summary: Loid is waterboarded
Loid didn't know what had given him away. All he did know was now he was in enemy territory. He had been on a mission to infiltrate a popular gang in this area. One of the members must have found out he was not there to truly join them.
Despite his abilities, Loid had not expected the gang members to attack him. All it took was one lead pipe to the back of his head and he was lucky to be alive. When Loid woke up, he was in some room. His hands were tied together and he heard what sounded like a sink running.
"Who sent you?" A gang member asked. Loid stayed silent.
"We don't have time for your fucking games man. Who sent you?" Still, Loid didn't answer.
"Alright, you asked for it." One of the gang members grabbed a bucket while another grabbed a cloth. They soaked the cloth and brought it to Loid's face.
Dropping the rag over the spy's face, the gang member poured more water in it. Loid struggled under their grasp, trying to escape. It felt like he was drowning, even if he wasn't. The water coming into his lungs, was painful and had the potential to be deadly. However, at the time he should be okay.
After a moment, Loid tried to calm himself enough to think about how to get out of the situation. Escape was all about the timing. If the man could plan it out to where he used his strength against the others when they didn't have water on him.
So he waited for a moment. Once they ran out of water, Loid took his chance. He attacked them, freeing himself. Shaking the cloth off of his face, Loid headed for the door. Forcing the door to open, he ran down the hall. Now Twilight just had to figure out how to escape the building.
Codywan Week Day 1: Lightsaber
Summary: After the last time Obi-wan lost his lightsaber, Cody decides to add a place for it with him by altering his armor.
Jedi were funny about their lightsabers, or at least Cody's was. "This weapon is your life" he would say to Anakin Skywalker. Then he would lose his in the first five minutes of a battle. Somehow Cody always ended up with it. Something about the situation made Cody laugh. Obi-wan was somewhat of a hypocrite.
With as often as Cody had the saber, he started to try to find a way to hold on to it easier. He wanted to keep it safe. The man knew he needed a lightsaber clip of some kind. That way he could attach it to his armor.
Walking around the Jedi temple always felt so inviting. Looking around, Cody looked for any Jedi he might know. When he didn't see anyone he recognized, he walk up to a random Jedi and asked where he could find lightsaber clip.
"Obi-wan break his again?" The Jedi asked, chuckling.
"Yes sir."
"Go down the hall and take a left. There's a supply closet. It should be the first room on the left."
"Thank you sir." Cody smiled and walked away. The Jedi Temple was a beautiful place. It was easy to get lost in, but with all of the stories he had been told, the place never felt like much of a maze to him.
Finding the supply closet, Cody opened the door and walked inside. He looked around until he found some clips. The box had a verity of different colors. Mostly they were neutral colors but a few were colorful. There was a few orange ones. Cody held one in his hand and decided that since orange was on brand, he would choose that one.
Walking out of the closet, he headed back to his room. Sitting the room, Cody started his modifications to his armor and belt. With the clip attached to his belt, he carved out a small divite in his armor that went around his hip. That way the saber would fit nicer.
The clip looked nice with his armor. The shade of orange was nearly the same. If the shade difference started to brother him, he'd paint it later.
It didn't take Obi-wan long to realize the change in his commander's armor. They were outside by The Great Tree. The weather was nice so the man had gone to meditate by the tree. Cody had gone to find him to let him know that Anakin was looking for him.
"Cody? What do you need dear?" Obi-wan opened his eyes.
"General Skywalker is looking for you."
Sighing, Obi-wan stood. "Where is he?"
"By your room."
Smiling at him, Obi-wan thanked Cody. Something seemed different. It looked like Cody was waiting for something so the Jedi scanned him for answers. That when he saw the orange lightsaber clip attached to his belt.
"Did you attach a lightsaber clip to your belt?"
"I did. I end up with it enough." Cody smiled.
Embarrassed, Obi-wan chuckled. Looking around, he grabbed his lightsaber. Then he stepped closer to the clone and placed the saber on his hip. "It fits perfectly." With a small kiss on his commander's cheek, the Jedi stepped away from him.
"This weapon is your life. I can't let you lose it." The two looked into each other's eyes.
Clone armor is the most personal thing a clone can have. They use it to express themselves. The patterns and design are as important to them as how it functions. It meant the universe to Obi-wan that Cody would change it to accommodate his lightsaber.
"Thank you dear." Looking around again, Obi-wan checked for anyone. When he saw there was no one he stepped closer to Cody once again. Gently, he placed his hands on Cody's face. Slightly pulling them together, Obi-wan kissed him. "I love you."
"I love you too."
August snippets Day 1: Stalked (Alt Promt)
Fandom: Percy Jackson
Summary: Percy starts to realize something or someone is watching him when he's out with his mom getting ice cream.
Percy knew he was being watched. He had gotten used to the uncomfortable feeling of eyes on him. However most of the time the feeling of being watched went away when he was outside of school or camp.
Instead Percy was getting ice cream with his mom. The two had decided to go out after Percy had passed his first quarter at school. Blue ice cream sat in front of them.
"Is everything okay, Percy?" Sally said. "You haven't had much of your ice cream."
"Yeah. I'm okay." Percy lied. After everything he had gone through, some ice cream and time with him mom sounded perfect. As the two sat at their table, the teen settled in. While the feeling he was being watched stayed with him, the boy started to ignore it.
It wasn't until Sally and Percy had finished their blue raspberry ice cream when the feeling started to bother him again. Sally seemed to realize something was wrong. She looked concerned as she watched their surroundings on the way home.
"You feel it too, don't you?" Percy asked him mother.
Sally nodded and stood a little closer to Percy. "Maybe it's a monster?"
"I don't think so." Percy looked around and sighed. "Let's just go to the park."
"Okay. I could call Chiron."
"We'll be fine."
The two walked to the park, never being able to rely. Once there, they talked about what was next. "Maybe it is a monster? I think I should look around."
"Percy" Sally started, "We look together."
"I can't put you in danger. Whoever or whatever is watching us, wants me."
"We go together. I'll be okay. I faced the minotaur, remember?"
"And almost got killed, remember?"
"Percy."
"Okay."
The park was a beautiful place. Sally used to take Percy all the time. He had always shown an interest in the decorative water fountain in the middle as well as any drinking fountains that had been around.
Walking around the park, Sally and Percy tried to find the source of their discomfort. For it being mid-day, there was no one around. The wind blew the swings gently. "Not creepy at all." Percy said, looking at his mother.
There was a quiet noise in the trees. Percy grabbed his pen and took a step closer to them. Standing right behind her son, Sally prepaid herself for whatever foe may be hidden in the pines and oak trees.
Pulling the leaves back, Percy looked to see what was there. A squirrel ran out from the tree and went up another that wasn't too far from it. "You know, maybe we are just being paranoid."
As the two turned to leave, they realized they weren't alone. Their feelings and been right.
"Hello Percy." Luke Castellan said. "You must be Sally Jackson." The man said as he motioned to Sally with his sword. "It's nice to meet you."
Taking a step back Percy pulled his mother with him. "Luke? How long have you been following me?" Uncapping Riptide, the half-blood placed it between his mother and Luke.
"A few days."
"A few days?!" Percy yelled surprised.
"Leave my son alone!" Ms. Jackson yelled sternly at Luke, putting a hand on Percy's shoulder.
"I'm sorry, I can't. You see, I need your son dead. So-"
"You'll have to get through me."
"Mom. Let me handle it."
Luke looked interested. "Sally Jackson fought a minotaur, I'm sure I'd be no challenge." He joked. Taking a step forward Percy pulled him back with the threat of his blade.
Both demigods knew it was time to fight. They readied their weapons. Percy stood in front of his mother, knowing he couldn't let Luke get close to his mom. Sally was one of the people who Percy loved most. She was his to protect.
As they fought the question of how Luke found him lingered in Percy's mind. "Let me get this straight, you've been following me for days now? Just like that? I never noticed you?"
"Yep. I thought you would be more observant. With everything that's happened, how could you not be?" Luke said as he swung his sword.
It only took one look at his mom for Percy to know why he hadn't realized Luke had been looming; his mother would keep him safe. "You want to know why?"
Luke was an all year camper. Percy never learned what happened to his mother but he knew that it was complicated. As much as he didn't want to, using his mother and his own might help get them out of the situation. After all, his mother was there. Percy couldn't let her get hurt.
"Why?"
"Because I trust my mom."
Luke paused. The words surprised him more the Percy thought they would. Using his hesitation, Percy slashed Luke's arm with his sword.
Jumping back, Luke almost dropped his sword. He looked at his arm, blood pouring from his wound. His eyes landed on Sally who had found a stick to hold, ready to fight if she had to. The man's breath was shaky. With his left arm, the demigod pulled his sword up. "Good for you." Attacking again, Luke swung his sword at Percy, aiming for his chest.
Moving, Percy drug his sword across Luke's side. With Luke behind Percy, Sally had the opportunity to slam her stick over his head, knocking him to the ground. After a moment, Luke sat up and looked around. Percy had a sword at his throat and Sally had her stick hovering menacingly near him.
Swinging Backbiter at the Jackson's feet, Luke stumbled to his feet. He knew he had to escape. Looking around, the man decided the trees would be the easiest place to disappear. Quickly placing his sword in it's sheath, Luke ran into the woods.
When Sally went to follow him, Percy stopped her. "We don't have to follow him. He'll get away anyway. I don't want you to be in anymore danger."
Sally nodded. "So, that was Luke?"
"Yeah." Percy sat down, breathing heavily.
"He seems a lot less though then how you described him."
"He was an all year camper. When I said I had you, it must have messed with him. Trust me, he's not fun to fight."
"Come on, let's go home. Do you want to stop by the candy store and pick up some blue jelly beans and watch a movie when we get home?" Sally helped her some off the ground. She smoothed out his hair and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Hell yeah."
