Codywan Week Day 1: Lightsaber

Summary: After the last time Obi-wan lost his lightsaber, Cody decides to add a place for it with him by altering his armor.

Jedi were funny about their lightsabers, or at least Cody's was. "This weapon is your life" he would say to Anakin Skywalker. Then he would lose his in the first five minutes of a battle. Somehow Cody always ended up with it. Something about the situation made Cody laugh. Obi-wan was somewhat of a hypocrite.

With as often as Cody had the saber, he started to try to find a way to hold on to it easier. He wanted to keep it safe. The man knew he needed a lightsaber clip of some kind. That way he could attach it to his armor.

Walking around the Jedi temple always felt so inviting. Looking around, Cody looked for any Jedi he might know. When he didn't see anyone he recognized, he walk up to a random Jedi and asked where he could find lightsaber clip.

"Obi-wan break his again?" The Jedi asked, chuckling.

    "Yes sir."

"Go down the hall and take a left. There's a supply closet. It should be the first room on the left."

"Thank you sir." Cody smiled and walked away. The Jedi Temple was a beautiful place. It was easy to get lost in, but with all of the stories he had been told, the place never felt like much of a maze to him.

Finding the supply closet, Cody opened the door and walked inside. He looked around until he found some clips. The box had a verity of different colors. Mostly they were neutral colors but a few were colorful. There was a few orange ones. Cody held one in his hand and decided that since orange was on brand, he would choose that one.

Walking out of the closet, he headed back to his room. Sitting the room, Cody started his modifications to his armor and belt. With the clip attached to his belt, he carved out a small divite in his armor that went around his hip. That way the saber would fit nicer.

The clip looked nice with his armor. The shade of orange was nearly the same. If the shade difference started to brother him, he'd paint it later.

It didn't take Obi-wan long to realize the change in his commander's armor. They were outside by The Great Tree. The weather was nice so the man had gone to meditate by the tree. Cody had gone to find him to let him know that Anakin was looking for him.

"Cody? What do you need dear?" Obi-wan opened his eyes.

"General Skywalker is looking for you."

Sighing, Obi-wan stood. "Where is he?"

"By your room."

Smiling at him, Obi-wan thanked Cody. Something seemed different. It looked like Cody was waiting for something so the Jedi scanned him for answers. That when he saw the orange lightsaber clip attached to his belt.

"Did you attach a lightsaber clip to your belt?"

"I did. I end up with it enough." Cody smiled.

Embarrassed, Obi-wan chuckled.  Looking around, he grabbed his lightsaber. Then he stepped closer to the clone and placed the saber on his hip. "It fits perfectly." With a small kiss on his commander's cheek, the Jedi stepped away from him.

"This weapon is your life. I can't let you lose it." The two looked into each other's eyes.

Clone armor is the most personal thing a clone can have. They use it to express themselves. The patterns and design are as important to them as how it functions. It meant the universe to Obi-wan that Cody would change it to accommodate his lightsaber.

"Thank you dear." Looking around again, Obi-wan checked for anyone. When he saw there was no one he stepped closer to Cody once again. Gently, he placed his hands on Cody's face. Slightly pulling them together, Obi-wan kissed him. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Codywan Week Day 2: The Wise Man's Fear

Summary: Cody is a very gentle man. It takes a while for him to truly get angry. However, when Obi-wan is shot, he finds it hard to control his emotions.

There are three things every wise man fears: the sea in a storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man. Cody was a gentle and kind man. He had a good heart and few fears.

One of those fears was losing those he was close to. In a war, Cody knew it was likely; the death of a loved one. The man had already lost close friends.

Now on the battlefield, the clone faced the thought of losing his general. Cody should have known loving a Jedi was a bad idea. When Obi-Wan got shot, he didn't know what to do.

Taking Obi-wan lightsaber may not have been the best idea. With the droids closing in on them, Cody made the decision to give them a chance they might not have. Switching it on, the clone walked towards the droids.

He swung the saber into the metal droids. It was harder to hold then he expected. Cody was angry, it was time he expressed it. His brothers died around him everyday and now he was being faced with the possible death of the love of his life. He was tired of it.

The saber sliced though the droids with ease, even with the saber being heavy. Cody knew why, the saber wasn't his. Still, he could feel it getting lighter. It was like the crystal was excepting him.

As the droids fell, he could feel his anger grow. Even so, it seemed to be working. With his brothers fighting back, the group of droids grew smaller and smaller. Soon Cody was standing over a pile of scrap metal, breathing heavily.

The clones around him had never seen Cody act like that before. Switching the saber off, he walked back to the main group. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Are you?"

Still trying to calm down, Cody nodded. "Is Obi-" he paused. "Is the general okay?"

"He should be." The medic informed him.

"Good. We'll finish the campaign without him." Cody took a look at the lightsaber in his hand.

"Do you know how to use that?" One of the men asked. "It came some natural to you."

"Only a little." Cody said. He had spent hours watching Obi-wan practice.

The gentle man still felt the anger in his heart. Breathing steadily, Cody calmed himself. "Okay." Putting Obi-wan's lightsaber on his belt, the commander started to walk forward. "Let's move out."

Codywan Week Day 3: Soulmate au

Summary: When you touch your soulmate for the first time you can see color. When Cody and Obi-wan first met, they discovered just how colorful the galaxy can be.

The world was so boring in shades of gray. But that was all Obi-wan knew. That was all most people knew for the earlier parts of their lives. You would wait until you met your soulmate. Then once you touched them, your world would fade into color.

Obi-wan had always wanted to see the color of the universe had to offer. Now he is 34 and waiting. A war had begun and he was a general. He still needed to meet the people under his command.

The first time the Jedi saw his commander, he felt like they would get along. "I'm Obi-wan Kenobi. We'll be working together."

"Commander Cody." He reached his hand out for a handshake. "It's nice to meet you."

As the two shook their hands, the room seemed to light up. The shades of gray they both had lived with their whole lives faded into shades of red, blue, and more. Yet the color that took Obi-wan by surprise was the color of Cody's eyes. They were a simple brown yet stunning. "You have very beautiful eyes."

"Thank you." Cody said. The two stared at each other for a moment. They didn't let go of the other's hand or break eye contact as they stood there. "I like yours."

"Thank you." The two let go of each other but stayed locking eyes. "What color do you think they are?"

Breaking eye contact, Cody walked over to light on some board. "I'm not sure about the name, but I do know that they look something like this."

Smiling, Obi-wan looked around to find something that reminded him of Cody's eyes. He settled on his cloak. "Yours are a darker shade of brown than my cloak."

"How do you know it's brown?"

"Everyone tells me it is. I used to ask my master all the time."

    Cody smiled. "That's sweet."

"Yeah. Well, shall we. We have duties to attend too." Both of them knew this was the beginning of something beautiful. While nervous, maybe they would be okay. The two would figure out more about the universe together.

    Bonus

Cody and Obi-wan stood on the beach. The water was crystal blue. The clone could swear he had seen that color before. As the Jedi sat down to relax, Cody realized where he had seen that color before. In fact, he saw it all the time.

"I know how to describe your eyes now." Cody said as he joined him. Obi-wan had already found sweet ways to describe the man's eyes. He said they looked like coffee or old books.

    "Oh?"

"They remind me of the sea. No wonder I like them so much, they remind me of home. You remind me of home."

"That's sweet. Thank you, love." Obi-wan looked around quickly before kissing Cody. He may not have shown how much those words touched him, but they did. They were one of the sweetest things he had heard in a while. "I love you."

    "I love you too."

Codywan Week Day 4: Kidfic

Summary: After finding a child in the aftermath of order 66, Obi-wan takes her to tatooine with him. Then Cody finds them and they become a family.

The Temple had been so quiet. The gentle cries of a young child had startled Obi-wan. The child was the first and only survivor they found that day. She was a human girl. Her name was Marla and she was four.

With no other choice, Obi-wan took Luke and her to Tatooine with him. Luke couldn't stay with him. It was already a risky move taking two force sensitive children together.

It had been a few years since then. Obi-wan had reunited with his old partner Cody. After the order and inhibitor chip were explained to him, the Jedi started to allow the clone back in his life.

It started off small. The two would spend some time together when Obi-wan or Cody weren't working. Then Cody started to watch Marla when he could.

Soon the two were just in love as they had been. Maybe they never fell out of love. Marla started to realize Cody wasn't just her dad's good friend but his boyfriend. They seemed like they should be married or engaged the way they talked.

"Are you going to marry my dad?" She asked Cody one afternoon.

"I would like to." He confessed with a chuckle.

"You should. I like having you around." Marla was eight years old. She smiled as she walked around the kitchen of the tiny house Obi-wan had found for them.

"Okay." Smiling, Cody told her it was time for bed. Looking at him, Marla tried to escape her bedtime.

That morning Obi-wan came home from his job at the bar. He found his asleep daughter hugging his boyfriend. He smiled as he hunted a blanket for the two of them. It felt so right. After making sure they were comfortable, the man went to his own bed.

When he woke up, he found a glass of water by the bed with a note. 'Marla and I went to the market. We'll be back soon.' -love Cody.

Soon Marla would be calling Cody "Buir." The word meant father in Mando'a. The girl never truly knew how much that meant to Cody.

"Marla" Obi-wan called for her.

"Yeah?" The girl was nine now.

"Your Buir has a surprise for you."

"Oh! What is it!" She squealed excitedly.

"Go find him and figure it out. I believe he is out by the cave." Obi-wan wasn't nervous to send her on her own. The cave wasn't far and he knew Cody would not let anything happen to her. That girl was their life. How she became their daughter was unfortunate. Despite that they loved her with all of their hearts.

When she returned, she had a new stuffed animal and a big smile on her face. She ran to her room to add it to her collection.

"Thank you for getting her those."

"Of course." Holding hands, the two men looked at the lives they built for themselves. They looked at their daughter as she ran back into the room, telling them all about how she had to introduce each of her stuffed animals to the new one. She had already named the bear Neo and so far everyone liked him.

After telling them about the meeting, she grabbed some apple slices off of the counter. Then she ran back to her room to make sure everyone was still getting along.

As she turned the corner, Cody turned to face Obi-wan. "Look at our daughter."

"I know." They smiled at how kind she was, even to stuffed animals. "I love you."

Cody kissed his husband. "I love you too."

Codywan Week Day 5: Only One Bed

Summary: After being sent on a diplomatic mission, Obi-wan and Cody settle into their room. The only problem, there's only bed.

Funny story about this at the end.

Obi-wan and Cody stared at the room before them. It was a nice room. There was a mini fridge, a bathroom, a bedside table that had a lamp on it, and a desk. There was only one problem, there was only one bed.

When the Jedi had sent Obi-wan on a diplomatic mission, they sent his commander with him so that he wasn't alone. After all, he was being sent to a war zone. It was fitting to have Cody there. However the council partially sent him for the company on the long days if travel.

The two spend a lot of time together, but one on one time like this was almost rare. I'm truth, both enjoyed being is such close contact for the few days they had spent travelling. Now they could have more close contact time.

"I can sleep on the floor."

"I can't ask you to do that." Taking off his shoes, Obi-wan sat in the bed. "We'll be fine to share a bed."

There was a nervous feeling that flooded Cody. It wasn't a bad feeling at all. "Okay."

Slowly the two settled into the room. The clone took off his armor and set it down in the corner and the Jedi removed his lightsaber from his belt and placed it on the bedside table. The two changed into comfortable clothing. Then they got into bed.

The blanket was soft. They laid an awkward distance apart, both men wanting to hold the other. It felt like it should come naturally to them. After a moment, Cody decided to shift, trying to see how Obi-wan would react.

As Cody moved, Obi-wan did too. Shifting to be closer to his commander, he grumbled about the room being slightly cold.

"Just come here." Cody smiled, holding his arms out to his Jedi. For a moment, Obi-wan hesitated. He wasn't sure why he did. Then he inched closer to the man.

Wrapping his arms around him, Cody pulled him close. "Is this better?"

"Yeah" Obi-wan said, surprised. Cody always did run warm. It felt nice, their body heat being together. It felt right, being so close. Trying to resist the urge to kiss him, the clone looked around the dark room.

Then Obi-wan got closer to him. His head rested on his chest. Looking up at Cody, his eyes lingered on his lips. The man noticed and waited to see if anything would happen. After what felt like a minute, Obi-wan leaned into his commander, kissing him.

The kiss only lasted a few seconds before the Jedi pulled away. "I'm sorry, I don't know why I-"

Interrupting him Cody pulled him back into a kiss. "It's okay." The two looked at each other for a moment before Obi-wan laid back down.

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

The next day, the two got up. They didn't talk about what had happened the night before until the day was over. "So, what now?" Cody asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Are we going to talk about last night?"

"I've wanted to do that for a while now. I'm sorry if you feel uncomfortable."

"I don't." Sitting on the bed, Cody rested his hand beside him. "I like you, a lot. I'd love to date you, but I can't ask that if you. You're a Jedi."

Obi-wan crawled onto Cody, his legs on both sides of the man. "Don't worry about that. I'd like to be your boyfriend." Then kissed him. The two fell to the bed. Maybe sharing one bed wasn't so bad.

Funny story: I was gonna do hurt/comfort. My only note was "You have til August." I went to write it and figured out I didn't have any ideas previously so I changed the prompt. Next to the "You have til August." I wrote "It's August." I just think it's kinda funny. That's all.

Codywan Week Day 6: Quiet Love

Summary: Obi-wan and Cody love doing small things for each other. Even things they don't talk about or acknowledge. When Obi-wan's favorite pair of robes get damaged, he doesn't have the time to repair them. However, Cody finds a way to fix them.

Obi-wan and Cody's love for each other was shown in quiet declarations. Small things they would do for each other. Sure they spent almost every night together, snuggling close to each other and holding each other. But they also slid their feet together at meeting tables and looked back at each other in crowds to make sure they were okay.

Quiet love was their favorite. Cody remembered times where he would drop something under a table and he would sit up to see Obi-wan's hand on the corner, making sure he didn't hit his head. He remembered short touches when he was nervous.

They would sneak kisses in empty halls and hold hands on walks in the woods. They loved it almost as much as they loved each other.

"Are you ever going to fix those robes?" Cody asked his partner.

"I don't have the time." Obi-wan sighed as he folded the set of robes and put them in a drawer.

"They're your favorite." The site of robes were just about the same color as most of the ones he wore. However the fabric was softer and slightly more worn. It made them more comfortable to wear.

"I know. I'm sure I'll do it soon." With that he closed the drawer. "I'm going to go get something to eat, want anything?"

"Maybe some coffee?" Cody answered.

Obi-wan smiled and left the room. That's when Cody started to look around the room for a needle and thread. He had learned some domestic skills when he was bored on Kamino or in-between missions. Sewing was one of his favorites even if it was still somewhat difficult.

Finding the small repair kit Obi-wan's had tucked away in a drawer, the clone removed the set of robes from the drawer. Then he sat down at the table and found the holes he needed to mend.

After finding the holes, Cody started to stitch them shut. It wasn't perfect but slowly he fixed each and every hole he could. The larger ones were easier to work on. Like every time he tried to sew, he stabbed himself with the needle a few times. However most of the lines were straight so at least it wouldn't look horrible.

When he finished, Cody placed the robes back in the drawer as well as the sewing kit. Then he simply waited for Obi-wan to return. He placed a bandage on one of his fingers since he had poked it with the needle multiple times.

When Obi-wan returned, he gave Cody his coffee as well as an orange flower he had found. "This reminded me of you." He smiled.

"Thank you." Taking the coffee and the flower, Cody sat on the bed. He didn't think about the robes until later. After all, he didn't do it for anything other than making Obi-wan's life easier. In fact, he didn't think he needed to tell him. Later that week, the Jedi would think about it and pull them out like he had done that day. This time, he would see that all the holes had been closed.

The two men enjoyed the rest of their evening together. Cody stayed over that night. He shut the light off and crawled into bed. Obi-wan made sure his feet were covered by the blanket.

Later that week, Obi-wan was alone in his room. He had a pile of paper work that needed to be done. Still, he opened one of his dresser drawers. Pulling out his favorite set of robes, he saw that someone had already mended them. Smiling, Obi-wan knew he needed to thank Cody. He knew he would wear them the next day and he knew that it would make his beloved commander smile. Oh how he loved the little things.

Codywan Week Day 7: Long Hair/hair cutting/trimming

Summary: At the beginning of the Clone War, Obi-wan made the decision to cut his hair. The problem, he doesn't know how. That doesn't stop him from attempting. Now he needs to find someone who can fix his mistake.

Obi-wan liked having long hair when he was younger. That's why when the clone war started, his hair was long enough to be put in a ponytail. However it started to get in his way.

Most padawans grow out their hair once they become knights. It was almost like a rite of passage. After having their hair be so short for so long, it only made sense to want to know what it was like when it was longer.

It was one night a few months into the war when Obi-wan made the decision to cut his hair. He found that it was in his face often enough.

The 212th was on their way to a mission on an outer rim planet that night. Obi-wan had found a pair of scissors and there was no turning back. He looked in the mirror and remembered the other reason he wanted to cut his hair. It had started to look like Qui-gon's.

That wasn't the worst thing, but seeing Qui-gon in his reflection only reminded him of his failure to protect him. So he took the scissors to his hair and started to cut it.

After a moment, the Jedi came to the realization that cutting your own hair with no prior experience is probably a bad idea. Unsure of what to do, Obi-wan raised his arm so that he could talk into his comm. The man had one person in mind when he thought of who to call. Cody.

Cody was his most trusted friend in the 212th. There was something about him that had made him comfortable with the clone from day one. Maybe it was the way he spoke or the way that he showed his kindness. Maybe it was the way that he felt around him. There was something about this man that was different. It was a feeling he had only felt a few times in his life but this time he was more certain.

So Obi-wan called Cody and told him what he did. Putting down his blaster, the commander stated he was on his way. He would just have to wait to clean his blaster. It wasn't a big deal.

As Cody walked in the halls, he thought about the Jedi. Obi-wan was an extraordinary man. He was kind and sassy and could be sarcastic at times. These were all things that Cody found he loved about him. The man thought that he probably should use the word 'love' but it seemed to be true.

Knocking on the door, Cody waited to be let in. When Obi-wan came to the door, he was a bit surprised by his hair.

"Okay." Cody whispered. He didn't want to seem like he was judging him, but he was. The man's hair was chopped up. Some parts were longer than others.

When Cody was a cadet, one of his friends asked him to cut his hair. So he learned how. It was like how some clones learned the art of tattoos. Cody was unsure why some of his brothers chose him to cut their hair. Maybe he had steady hands or was just good at it from the start. It didn't matter. Right now he was just glad he could.

"Can you fix it?" Obi-wan's face was red. He seemed embarrassed to be asking.

"I can." Cody informed him.

"Thank you." Obi-wan let him into the room. He sat down on a chair and told him to find whatever he thought would look best. Cody already knew what he would do. While he was best at the standard clone hairstyle, he knew that he could do something a little more elaborate for his general.

The clone kept his sidepart and cut his hair up to his ears. Obi-wan found he wasn't focusing on his hair. He was focusing on the way that Cody took care of it. The man was quiet as he focused and every now and again his fingers would brush up against Obi-wan's neck. It brought a weird feeling to him. It was a good feeling, yet something he felt he shouldn't feel.

Cody remembered thinking about how soft his hair was. The Jedi must have taken great care of it. He knew he couldn't mess this up. So, he tried his best just to focus on the hairstyle and not who was sitting in front of him. "You have very soft hair." He couldn't resist telling him.

"Oh, thank you." Obi-wan said nervously. But why was he so nervous? Cody figured he was just nervous that he wouldn't look good when he was done.

So the two sat there. It took maybe 20 minutes before Cody said anything. Then he told Obi-wan he was done and told him he should find a mirror.

The Jedi wasn't sure what to expect. However when he saw himself in the mirror he knew he picked the right person to fix his mistake. "It looks great, thank you." He smiled.

"Of course. Maybe don't try to cut your hair on your own next time." Cody joked.

Laughing, Obi-wan agreed he wouldn't. Something about this encounter made them closer. The next time his hair started to grow out, Cody offered to cut it for him. "It's not much trouble." He would say. They both knew that they wanted to spend more time together it wasn't planning a battle or on the battlefield.

This became a routine for them. About every 6 weeks Cody would have Obi-wan sit down so that he could cut his hair. As the two got more comfortable with the situation, they started to talk. They told stories about when they were younger and Cody told him how he knew how to cut hair. Obi-wan thought it was sweet.

When they started dating this routine did not change. It was still something they looked forward to. The two figured they always would. Even as things changed they still had each other. The Clone and the Jedi always hoped they would. Even if it was just something as simple as a haircut that they shared between the two.

Codywan Week Day 8: Anniversary

Summary: Cody and Obi-Wan spend their first anniversary together on Alderaan. Both of them make sure to make it a special night. With both of them having plans for the other, they spend their evening together.

It was Cody and Obi-wan's one year anniversary. Despite never celebrating a romantic anniversary, Cody was determined to make it special. He wasn't quite sure how. There was no one he could ask that wouldn't make it suspicious so he had to figure out what to do on his own.

So he started to plan a week before. They make sure that you both have the day off. They have been invited to Alderaan for a political conference. The two would leave Coruscant three days before their anniversary. Their anniversary date was the day after the conference. Bail Organa had wanted them to stick around for a day after the conference to make sure everything went smoothly. It was perfect.

After making sure they were free, he found out what kind of food he needed to put together. He settled on chicken parmesan with spaghetti as they both liked and it seemed to be something easy enough to make.

Then the clone commander wandered the woods trying to find a good spot for a picnic. It needed to be far enough away from the public that they did not have to worry about anyone stumbling upon them. He found an area that had a flat rock but was still surrounded by trees. They were mostly pine trees and oak trees. Being surrounded by the trees made the area smell amazing so he didn't have to worry about any candles. After all those could start forest fires.

Then he needed something to wear. While most of the time his armor is what he wore, he figured that some basic civilian clothes would be best for this outing. So he went to talk to Rex to see if he knew of anything he could borrow. Soon his brother brought him a pair of black pants and a white shirt. Cody thanked him and made sure he packed them when planning the trip.

Obi-wan seemed excited. Cody wasn't sure if it was just getting away from the war or if he felt that he had something planned for their anniversary. Either way the clone loved to see him so excited.

Once on Alderaan, Cody went to find all the ingredients he would need for their dinner. He borrowed a picnic basket from one of Senator Organa's friends after he had been talking to himself about needing one.

While in the woods the day before, Cody searched for some flowers that he could give his partner the next day.

The day of their anniversary came and Cody told Obi-wan he had a surprise for him. Obi-wan told him he had one as well. The two laughed, both slightly hoping they didn't plan the same thing.

Cody had Obi-wan follow him into the woods. He took his hand and led to the spot he had carefully picked out. There the picnic had already been set up as well as a bottle of wine sitting in the middle of the blanket. Bail had given it to them to celebrate a successful conference.

"Oh Cody. This is perfect." The two sat down on the blanket and talked for hours. The shared kisses and held hands under the protection of the hidden woods. This situation was ideal for them.

After their dinner, Obi-wan took them further into the woods. They walked hand in hand up a steep hill that led to the edge of a cliff. There the Jedi had set up flowers and some small candles. There was also a small record player off to the side. "I wanted to dance with you." Obi-wan explained.

Cody smiled as he took Obi-wan's other hand in his. "Then we dance."

So Obi-wan turned on the music and started helping Cody figure out how to dance. It wasn't something he had ever been taught but it was something he knew he wanted to do as long as Obi-wan did.

Cody would do anything Obi-wan wanted him to do. So they danced as the sun went down. The sunset was filled with brilliant reds and oranges.

"The sunset reminds me of you." Obi-wan said.

Smiling, Cody kissed him. "Thank you Cyare." As the night progressed, they stopped dancing and sat down on the cliff. The rocks were smooth which made the ground flat enough to dance in the first place.

They continue to talk. Soon talking turned into cuddling and cuddling turned into kissing. Both men's hands traveled the other's bodies. They knew each other's sensitive spots and where they liked to be held and kissed.

As they kissed, Cody broke their connection and started to kiss Obi-wan's neck. The Jedi caught his breath before suggesting that they return back to their room for the night. They could return in the morning and pick up everything they had set up that night, as long as they put the candles out before they left.

Cody agreed and they blew out the candles. They didn't make it far before stopping at their picnic spot to make sure there was nothing they needed to bring in that night. Before they left, they started kissing again. The commander pushed his general into a tree and pushed his body into his lovers. He grabbed his waist and pulled him close.

"Not here" Obi-wan whispered. "Be patient love."

Kissing him again, Cody moved. Then the two made their way back to their room where they would spend the night together, tangled up with each other. It was the perfect day for the two of them. That morning they knew they would return to their normal lives, fighting in a war and remaining secretive about their relationship.

Their second anniversary they spent on a battlefield. That night came a few months before the end of the war. It was a quiet but stressful night. With no ring, Cody asked Obi-wan to marry him. He swore he would give him one once they were safe and he could find one.

"Of course I will." Obi-wan had told him. "I love you."

"I love you too." With no one around the two shared a quick kiss before continuing to plan how they were to win this battle. Of course they would and once they returned the Jedi Temple Cody would find a simple ring that he could give his lover. The Jedi kept it on the necklace so that it would be easier to hide.

Once they had matching rings, Obi-wan added his to the necklace with his engagement ring. Cody found a chain and made sure that he kept his necklace under his shirt.

Even as the years passed, the memories of their first two anniversaries stayed with the two even after they were forced to split up by the end of the war. Neither removed their necklaces for a long time. Cody moved his ring to his finger once he escaped the empire.

Their first anniversary however, was their night and no one would take that night from them. Not the empire, not the Jedi, and not the sith. That night belonged to them forever and always. No one could take their love from them, even after everything that had happened. After all sometimes it was all they had left. Love.
