Cold Winter Night (SeoKris ver.)

They walked together in the cold winter night, hand in hand. She stared at his flawless face and spoke, “Thanks for bringing me here. This will be our last night together.” She then looked down with an awful frown, her tears ready to roll down her pink tinted cheeks.

He lifted her chin up and looked at her in disagreement. “No, no. I’ll come back. We’ll be happy together. Don’t- Don’t cry… Please…” He tried holding back his tears as he tried to smile to her. He reassured her that he’ll come back. That he’ll come back and be with her.

She took a deep breath and sighed, “No.” She spat and looked away from his gaze. “You’ll forget about me. Or maybe worse, you’ll forget about us.” She chuckled at her own words, knowing that it will surely happen when he leaves.

He looked down in disappointment, “That’s not going to happen… Please, trust me on this one.” He couldn’t hold it in any longer. His tears began pouring down his face. He suppressed his tears because he didn’t like crying in front of her, he knew she’d cry as well.

“Joohyun-ah… I promise to come back. Please, trust me.” He gently cupped her cheeks and kissed her forehead. He looked into her eyes only to see sorrow and sadness in her doe-like eyes.

“I-It’s okay… At least you get to pursue your dreams, right? I know you can do it, Kris. I know you can. Please do it for me.” She smiled at him and thought ‘Just forget about me and follow your dreams.’

“Joohyun…” She struggled out of his grip. “JOOHYUN! PLEASE!” He pulled her into his arms and embraced her tightly. “I won’t go if you don’t want me to… I can stay here if you’d like, Joohyun-ah.” He whispered softly.

“No, Kris. Just go, okay?! I’m not asking you not to. Please, Kris!” She harshly pulled out from his tight embrace. “I-It’s alright with me, okay? You can go to Canada. You should go and study there… I think it’s best for you to do that…” Her eyes turned crescent as she softly smiled at him.

Kris slowly nodded his head, “I’ll miss you…” He quietly sobbed into her neck as he pulled her again into a hug. “Joohyun… I don’t want to leave but I have to.” He explained between his sobs.

“Stop crying, silly. I’m not used to seeing you cry.” She wiped his tears with her thumb. “I thought guys are supposed to do this…” She giggled and kissed his wet cheek. She tiptoed and whispered something against his cheek, “Please don’t forget about me… I love you so much, Wu Fan.” A tear rolled down her cheek as the words escaped her lips.

“I won’t.” Kris cupped her cheeks and kissed her passionately. Joohyun tightly closed her eyes and pulled away gently, “I’ll miss you, Kris.” She looked deeply into his eyes and rested her head into his chest.

“I love you Joohyun.” Kris went in for another passionate kiss. She halted for a second and said, “I love you too, Wu Fan.” She wrapped her arms around his neck as their lips met again for the third time.

After a year

Joohyun looked outside the window, it was winter again. Little kids collected snow and created snow balls. She smiled and sipped her hot coffee.

“Hmmm… Only if he was here… with me.” She stood up and waved to the small little kids. _____________________________
