The tattoo shop’s neon sign goes out as you lock the front door, your eyes hanging low with exhaustion as you throw yourself onto the metal studded leather couch. A deep sigh leaves your lips as you stare up at the maroon ceiling, why was your life so pointless right now? Everything felt flat, the air in the room feeling suffocating. Your lips sputter as you close your eyes. Some things just couldn’t be helped, sometimes life just finds it’s way to being stagnant. 

“I should go home, shouldn’t I?” You whisper to yourself as you pull down your black face mask. You throw your legs off of the couch before hearing the door unlocking itself. 

“Oh?” You ask confused, your heart starting to beat faster knowing just one other person knows the code. 

The black door opens, the curtains rippling as the wind comes through and suddenly there he was. He was in black ripped jeans, his combat boots halfway up his calf as he steps inside. White tank top hanging low, his nipples peaking out as he takes off his leather jacket. 

“Kook!” You squeal surprised, his face looks down at you as he takes off his face mask with a huge smile. 

“Baby girl.” He whispers before slamming the door shut behind him, a quick jog across the charcoal floor and you were in his arms swinging through the air as he spins around. 

“Oh my God, I missed you.” You giggle happily putting your face into his neck as he clutches you with all of his strength. His leather jacket getting discarded on the couch as he puts you down. It was if the lights in your mind were back on, the feeling of suffocation lifting off of your chest and Jeongguk looks down at you with a huge smile, his eyes creasing cutely as he gives a small childlike giggle. 

“What’d you do? Get more handsome while you were away? Unfair.” You tease, his hand coming up to your head and ruffling your hair. 

“Oh my baby!” Jeongguk cheers pulling you into him and pressing your head against his chest. He smelt expensive as always, the Givenchy scent wafting through your nose as you close your eyes happily. You could hear how fast his heart was beating making you smile. 

“I really missed you so much, five months felt like a millennium.” He had gone on tour and the months away from you felt like a spiraling black hole. No video calls could do this justice. As Jeongguk pulls away he leans down, his perfectly shaped lips caressing yours as his hand snakes around the back of your neck. 

“I almost forgot what you taste like.” He whines before putting his arm around your shoulder. “Let’s go home, baby.”

His fourth year at the world’s largest tattooing competition with a chance to take home the prize for “Best Large Black & White” piece against four hundred incredible artists had Jungkook amped up and ready to go. Some of his inspirations - legends in the game - were mere feet away from him as he browsed the almost endless stations filled with merchandise, displays of new tattoo designs, and occupied benches with models. There was almost nothing he enjoyed more than being around the sound of buzzing guns and filling sheets of half-filled paper with sketches his brain had no issues conjuring up but sometimes struggled to complete. Well, except food. And video games. And you. Not really the point though.

You sat on the couch of your shared apartment, scrolling mindlessly through social media once again. It wasn’t as though you had many other choices of activity. Being university students on break, the quarantine had ripped both yours and Jungkook’s summer job opportunities right from beneath you.

So here you were, month three of minimal contact with the outside world, sitting on the couch you may as well call your home within a home.

You learned very quickly that Facebook was definitely not the app of choice to pass time on, seeing as you only ended up angry at the amount of bad takes visible within the first 5 minutes of browsing. No, you chose to favour Instagram instead, seeing as you could just scroll through food porn, beautiful people, and memes for hours on end.

It definitely was not because your roommate’s thirst traps tended to dominate your feed there. Definitely not. At all.
