my first toh theory
As Luz says in the beginning of “Yesterday's lie”: "So, according to Philip's instructions, the hardest part to making a portal was finding someone who knew how to build it." So that means that Philip didn't build it himself, which makes sense since designing something and building it is two different jobs, and it's realistic that one man couldn't do it all and needed an assistant. This brings me to wonder who did he find to make the portal? Once I saw people pointing out the eye on a wagon of a (supposedly) King's dad that looks identical to the one on the portal, I immediately thought that there's a connection between him and Philip. So my first toh theory is that that unnamed demon helped Philip build the portal.
