can i. ask more about your sidestep and what they're like cos i adore them

This is a little embarrassing because my sidestep is literally just the stronger, cooler version of me.

He's just like me fr. He's got my fear of being noticed, my paranoia, and my self-hatred.(unlike him i'm working on it)

He's emotionally distant like me and he is helplessly in love with Ortega, even tho he really wishes he could just hate him instead. (unlike me, i love ortega too much to ever hate him)

His name is Nikolai and he knows he is going down the wrong path and i guess subconsciously he is trying to stop himself but it feels like the good and evil inside him are constantly fighting for control and he's just along for the ride in this car without brakes until it comes to a crashing halt.

Before he reunited with Ortega he felt nothing but hate towards him. He had believed Ortega had given up on him. That he had simply forgotten the time they spent together because he didn't save him. Afterwards, while he still doubts ortega he can't help the fond memories and emotions that resurfaced when he came back into his life.

He makes kind of a shitty villain honestly. Too afraid to get blood on his hands he's more interested in rallying people to his cause. He’s got a thing against the heroes of the city. He thinks they're weak and he wants to beat them back into shape and turn them against the people that pay them. So far it has yet to yield any results but he's managed to make one hero doubt his leaders so that's a win.

Overall he is just a lil guy. A poor lil meow meow if you will
