My ex friend came to school in a wheelchair (she is abled body) and I’m feeling guilty for not saying or asking anything but I also don’t think I should.
Like, the girl did nothing when our other “friends” started excluding me and didn’t say anything when I was having a pretty bad meltdown.
Deep down I still care about her, but being close to her hurts. I gave her a lot of support when she was having mental health problems and backed her when people started excluding her, but now that I’m going through the same situation she does nothing, not even ask if I’m ok.
Stop using disabled people to justify AI.
Don’t imply that disabled people can’t make art, a lot of us can, even if it’s not perfect. Frida Kahlo, one of the greatest surrealist artists out there, had multiple disabilities, some congenital and others acquired.
Even if some disabled people use AI as an aid, it does not erase its exploitative nature towards artists.
Being anti ai is not ableist, stop using disabled people to defend mega corporations when you literally don’t give two fucks about us.
The majority of AI bros does not advocate for disabled people in any way, they just want to use us when it’s convenient.
I’m watching Cobra Kai with my sister(she loves karate kid) and I kinda hate how the Eli might be autistic thing is never mentioned again. It’s wasted potential, really.
Eli starts as the trope of the nerdy, shy, smart autistic who gets bullied and then gets an entire corruption arc, becoming a bully while masking a lot. After that he starts a redemption arc but as for now still can’t fully accept himself.
It’s an interesting subversion, you don’t see a lot of autistic bullies on tv, if the writers were better and explored this idea a little further it could have been one of the best portrayals of autism in current media.
What a lot of G3 fans don’t seem to understand when talking about how G3 was doing so well, they had no reason to cancel it, is that the international distribution of this series was shit.
G1 had full episodes that were released on YouTube, a free and accessible platform, in various languages, whereas G3 doesn’t even have full episodes on YouTube.
In my country, Brazil, for the firsts years of G3, the only way of accessing the series was through Paramount Plus, a streaming platform that isn’t that popular. Only now it became a tad bit more accessible when it was included on Netflix.
How are kids, their primary consumers, who come from other countries supposed be drawn by the series? What kinda of shit market strategy is that?
The people responsible for this clearly knew what they were doing. G3 was set up for failure by the executives.
Came back to dungeon meshi fandom and then saw some weird posts about people complaining about Laios being headcanoned as autistic (I highlighted the parts i thought were the wildest):

Boohoo, autism scary. Stop pretending you care about disabled people when the only thing you want to do is dunk on people you find cringe online.
It’s so hypocritical to pretend you care when you use ableist language, calling others “demented” and keep insulting “terminally online people”.
What these people fail to realize is that a lot of terminally online people are autistic or neurodivergent in some way. For a lot of us fandom spaces are one of the only ways we can socialize.
Most people aren’t “fandomizing autism” by headcanoning Laios as autistic, they are relating to him. In a world where most of the few confirmed autistic characters read as stereotypical and not relatable, Laios being embraced by the community is a very positive thing. Even if he isn’t confirmed autistic.
It makes so many autistics feel happy and validated. I almost cried during the Toshiro fight because of how relatable it felt.
Let’s not forget how many of these people seem to only see autistic people as dependent and highly intellectually disabled, when the autistic spectrum is so broad, with so many different experiences.
Laios can absolutely be autistic, being able to read and live independently isn’t proof that someone isn’t autistic. I was diagnosed with autism and can, not only read but also speak 3 languages.
Also how many fans really assumed Laios in on the far end of the spectrum? Not saying that it’s the correct assumption, but in fandom spaces, if a character can speak without impediments he is generally headcanoned at maximum as level 2 support needs.
The only thing I agree is that diagnosing people you don’t know is wrong, but if this end up turning into an argument about self diagnosis (which happens a lot), I’m out of here.
