how you can use social media in a healthy way
set your intention:
what use do you want to make of social media?
which apps do you want to keep using and which not (or reduce their consumption)?
how much time are you spending on it? how much do you want to spend on it?
establishes limits of use:
you can activate or deactivate certain applications when you are no longer using them so that they do not distract you or add a time limit depending on how much time or how many days a week you want to use the app.
how to set the time of use?:
ios:
settings > usage time > limit app usage > add limit
you can also limit apps only in focus, work, do not disturb or whatever mode you have set.
settings > focus > the category in which you want to activate it > focus filters
android:
settings > well-being and parental controls > set time for your apps
pros and cons:
make a list of where social media is good for you and where it is bad for you. anything that is hurting you stop watching or following.
value your real time:
not having social media or having control over it brings you more in your life and personal growth. for example, how many of us have woken up and the first thing we have done was to look at instagram or another social network and that has made us lose time of our morning? instead you can do a short meditation or breathing to start the day off right, it also reduces stress and anxiety.
just think about how much you spend a week being stuck in social media and imagine what activities you could develop in that time.
other tips:
look for an activity you would like to try
socialize more with your friends
keep your cell phone away from you or in a ādo not disturbā or āconcentrationā mode when you are engaged in an activity
spend more time in nature
uninstall or deactivate those apps that no longer benefit you, try it for a while.
don't take anything personally from what people may share there.
conclusions:
when you have a routine, things to do, you don't pay as much attention to being online all the time, so it's not such a hard task. i'm not saying stop using your phone but i'm writing this post for all those people who spend all day scrolling or really spend a lot of time watching tik tok or instagram, that's not healthy in the end.
of course you can still use social media but with knowledge and in a way that does not harm you or does not compromise your time too much. the most important thing is not to be glued to a phone watching what others do but enjoy your life.
donāt forget āthe wolf and the woodsmenā thatās peak funky woods!
I think that my favourite genre is āwhat the fuck is wrong with the forestā
"You were in my dreams last night" yeah our souls have been clawing through our chests to get to each other since we met but I'm glad you noticed
one dark window by rachel gillig is my favorite thing
i LOVE LOVE LOVE a good fantasy book. amazing world building, quests, and what not. and this book had it all!!
i loved everything about it (sans that one ⦠scene)! i think that the world was super interesting, great vibes, and i am obsessed with it.
i literally finished this book in 3 days, and read the bulk of it (326 pages) within the span of 18 hours. this book was o incredible and i absolutely loved it.
it definitely wasnāt anything groundbreaking. yes the concept is very interesting and the magic system is very unique, but this story is similar to that of so many other amazing fantasy books. so iām not upset!
my only qualm is that i felt some things were very repetitive, and some of the characters were quite flat, like they really only had āone thingā and didnāt change much through the story or werenāt super complex.
but besides that i have absolutely no notes, i loved this and now i have to read two twisted crowns.

lady macbeth was⦠something. (spoilers ish)!!!
i am a HUGE fan of ava reid. i have read all her previous books and LOVED THEM!! however, this is very much a lapvona by ottessa moshfegh situation. it is a well (?) written story, but i donāt think that this type of story makes the author shine.
i think that itās great when authors branch and write in new genres, however lady macbeth feels like taking one genre and trying to fit it into the style of reidās previous styles.
i read this book in two days, and i did enjoy it. i believe that the whole lysander/dragon thing was very predictable, but still an interesting plot point.
on the aspect of it being a shakespeare retellingā¦. this is where i start to tune out. i really didnāt feel like this was that, but at the same time that is all it was??
also, i hated the treatment of the scottish and scotland!!! very stereotyping and making scotland seem dull and bleak and grey when it is so beautiful!!!
i really donāt have any super cohesive thoughts on this. probably my least favorite ava reid book, but not the worst thing in the world.

just finished wild by cheryl strayed and oh boy!!!
it took me a minute to get through this one (betty by tiffany mcdaniel put me in the biggest reading slump of my LIFE! fantastic book!). however, i am glad i did. the ending was as rewarding as i was looking for, her section of being in oregon was minuscule compared to her time in california. but this was her life and her story and she is allowed to tell it however the heck she wants!! and i think she told it in a great way.
going into it, i didnāt really know what i was expecting. i have been trying to get into nonfiction recently, and i love nature and all things hiking, so i figured this was a good book to start with. i definitely am grateful for this story, and is truly very inspiring.
itās so raw and vulnerable. strayed admits to things that hurt herself and the people she loved. her drug use, adultery, etc, all show how real she is.
so many amazing anecdotes from this book that i will carry for years to come.
thank you so much cheryl!!

my bad for assuming everyone has critical thinking skills btw

age 16: the world isn't worth living in
age 24: been getting into greek yogurt & birdwatching lately
pioneering something called "gritted teeth optimism" where everything is gonna turn out okay even if i have to bite and claw and gnash my way through it
WAIT. Not to be controversial but. What if I just enjoy life for what it is right now instead of stressing about what Iāve yet to get out of it. What if I choose to enjoy this timeā¦ā¦I know that once it goes, I wonāt get it back from anywhere
i need this bad rn
