My hot take on the AI vs creativity debate. For context I'm a filmmaker and mess around with all creative aspects of bringing something to the screen.
It's the same argument with automation. Growing up in the 2010's you couldn't go long without being asked to consider whether robots replacing human jobs was ethical or not. Short answer was no, since it's replacing unskilled labour and would lead to millions of people around the world losing their income. But back then the jobs in question were specifically unskilled labour, something NON INTELLIGENT.
The first wave of AI being creative as I remember it was the shitty generation of landscapes and around 2020 ish. Same thing as today where it would create images based off of prompts, but it was really shitty and would only barely resemble what you had in mind, and couldn't even do anything specific. It was closer to a gimmick than anything.
The second wave in my memory was when Nvidia and a bunch of companies made software that could generate landscapes based off of prompts or some unique software with brushes and stuff. The stuff was, all things considered, usable and decent looking.
And the third wave is what happened as soon as chatGPT came into existence, and the modern debate. The weird thing is that (as far as I remember) people weren't raising hell during the first two waves. It was only until after the art became good and the technology became able to understand more advanced prompts did we complain. We recycled the arguments from automation because it was essentially the same thing, but now there was an argument that AI art has "no soul".
That last argument really stands out, because I genuinely don't believe a majority of people have what I consider a soul, not even creatives. I think it's something that has to by the individual through discovering and defining their meaning of life. Yet, even the soulless are asking for AI to be limited or stopped being developed because it may stifle their creativity or employment prospects.
How I see it? Knowing that it could very well prevent me from being able to make a living from doing the thing I've decided to dedicate my life to? I say bring it on. I think this is the defining struggle of creatives of our generation, to be able to prove their worth against frankly superior soulless artists.
Want to be employed for being creative? If you can't beat AI then you probably weren't going to make it too far anyways.
Want to express creativity for yourself? No one's stopping you, create your magnum opus.
I know about AI being trained on existing artists art and how it's going to just further the evil capitalist machine but as it is this is where I stand.
There is something poetic about the fact that AI art can't seem to get hands right. Yet handprints on walls are some of the oldest art we have.

You know how I know that AI will never be able to create like a human? Whether that be painting or writing or film-making?
Because no computer, no algorithm, no matter how good, can tell a story like a human can.
Shakespeare wrote his most famous tragedies from the mire of grief from losing his son to the plague. Oscar Wilde's "A Picture of Dorian Gray" had such overtly homosexual themes that the book was literally used against him when he was on trial. The shock and horror of 9/11 inspired My Chemical Romance to come together and capture the sense of disillusionment of young people at the time. Hozier today writes his songs expressing what it means to be an increasingly fascist world while still holding an enduring love of humanity. Arthur Miller wrote "The Crucible" using the witch hunts as a thinly veiled allegory to criticize McCarthyism in the 50s, a play that did, in fact have him persecuted for "contempt of congress". An entire period of Picasso's art was noticeably influenced by the suicide of his friend, but he also had other works that were inspired by his various love affairs.
If you still think AI could eventually create like that, you're missing the point. You think it's about skill, you think it's just about craft. We're aware that AI can learn any skill, excel at craft. But a story isn't the words you use, or the events that happened; a story is the person that tells it and the beauty they felt that they share with you when you experience the art. Because art itself isnt about the perfection of its presentation, its the messiness of the human experience. Your AI has no life, it has no story, it can make as many esthetically pleasing works as you want, but it cannot make art.

my controversial take is I don't think Achilles and Patroclus are gay
let me clarify by saying it is fine if you think that they are, I understand their relationship not only inspired the term 'achillean' as a mlm term but also is widely accepted as such
But I didn't read their relationship as gay at least in Homer's Iliad. Patroclus is Achilles' 'dearly (/most) belovéd' and it might just be from my romance repulsed view that that is a strong friendship, and Achilles' grief can still be acceptable if you take it in that context.
I think my main issue is that with many popular mlm couples- wether they are gay in the og text or not- one is often feminised. And this happens across all media but I think in the context of Patroclus and Achilles both are very burly, butch warriors, who are powerful in their own right.
So the people who go 'aw, Patroclus little baby' are just as infuriating as the people who go 'sweet summer child Achilles who has anger pwoblems..🥺'.
And while I think in part Song of Achilles is responsible for this view on either of the characters, it is NOT Madeline Miller's fault.
She is an incredible writer who utilised Patroclus' biased narration to display Achilles as this wonderful hero. Because Patroclus, despite being a great warrior, is still second to Achilles.
And it's worth mentioning I hate Achilles on a level I can never explain but I understand his grief. He's lost everything, and losing Patroclus, wether they are lovers, best friends, even cousins (Troy I'm looking at you) is the final straw for him and I think that is written beautifully by Miller.
The issue comes when people don't use their critical thinking skills and go 'Patroclus is a greek warrior fighting in a decade long war' and immediately jump to making him overly feminine which clashes with his character. So both Achilles and Patroclus' complex characters (in the context of both the Iliad and TSoA) are washed out.
I realise I'm being very snobby and not accepting of other readings but I think it's incredibly unlikely Miller would write characters that clash with the original so much the only option is to make one hyperfeminine, and is much more likely an en mass reading of it.
This started as a 'partroclus and Achilles aren't gay' post and turned into 'hyper feminisation is a real issue we need to discuss with mlm relationships' post, but it drives me up the wall.
So, Achilles and Patroclus could've been gay, and it is a perfectly acceptable view to take/have. However, making Patroclus a 'little baby who only trained as a medic and can't really fight' is in my opinion, infuriating and incredibly juvenile.
Or maybe I'm just romance replused and want more strong platonic relationships.

writing anything about vagabond is genuinely so insanely tough because, vagabond is just so intimate with its character writing. more so, just the general handling of the whole story. each and every chapter is hand crafted with a care inoue adds in every brush stroke or text bubble. its simple yet intricate, every illustration⸺changing and shifting with the washing tides of vagabond's storyline. the art style is unmatchable, the arcs, beautifully gory just as they need to be. the ripple of a lake, the slash of the blade, a rare smile amongst the lonely woods. vagabond can be small and intimate, then explosive and physical. a blade can be something to admire, to compare to the mastery of a samurai⸺then stripped to an item to kill. vagabond is so simple, the chapters in the life of a man and the fight against death. there's something so supernatural the way musashi has avoided death for years, but each and every piece to his survival falls in so right. to become invincible under the sun, a statement that twists and turns as musashi evolves. it holds weight, but by the end it's simply a wish of a much more younger man. things change, and change, then comes the spell of regret. but the morning sun comes up and the world will never wait, so comes dawn on kokura.
vagabond is filled with spiritual themes and intense writing that is new as it is antique. inoue knows how to use his art to improve every plot point and he knows how to write a story as impactful as his art. it's no wonder vagabond has been on hiatus for nearly a decade. this tale of the samurai musashi miyamoto is dear, beautiful, intimate, thoughtful, deadly, visceral, but most importantly, breathtaking.
when writing my thoughts down about a series, i look at the media and take a grasp at the things it tries to say, to communicate, maybe. i take my soul and ask it what has this done? and how badly has it ruined me? but when writing about vagabond, i simply can't begin to start about the beauty in this story and how much it has left me with. when i try to recollect the chronicles of this lone ronin from miyamoto village, i get lost in thoughts and pieces of it that i can barely connect. i lose so easily to this legend, from a long far off land, many, many moons ago. every arc, chapter, and even page, holds more things to unpack and rethink. it's so hard to understand in full the epic that is vagabond, to make sense of the winding brush strokes that inoue places⸺as messy as the life of these dear children of twenty-eight years old. when shounen mainstays like jjk or kny have a collection of themes you can pick apart and savor, vagabond has a ballad unreadable but ever so beautiful. how i want to understand it.
Finally, a historical series where the soldiers are using correct tactics for fighting against armor. As much as I love Wuxia and Xainxia, I get really tired of seeing the sword wielding heroes slash across the armor of their opponents. It makes the historian in me scream, "That's not how armored people fight!" This one gets it right, slashes at the neck in the gaps between body armor and helmet, thrusts to the armpits when the opponent is raising their arm for attack, and slashes at the unprotected tendons at the back of the knees. Vicious, but realistic.

omg I just found this outfit from gourmet's journey and I instantly know what I should do.

The original set of this outfit has a half-up and half-down hair, but I don't like the bang, so this hair it is.

🌙What moon signs need in relationships🌙
Aries Moon-you need a relationship that is adventurous, energetic, brave, combative. In a relationship, you need someone who is fearless and will do the crazy thing, and that in person will really appeal to you. Someone who will bring out a more fiery and courageous side of you. Someone with whom you can be crazy but at the same time feel like you can be you.Someone who will always encourage you and make you feel that you can do it, but at the same time someone who will make you feel that you don't have to do everything yourself.
Taurus Moon-you need a relationship that is stable, safe and secure. Someone with whom you will share money, luxury and enjoy the material things of life. You need someone who will hug you and show you love through touch, which is one of the most important things for you. If you don't touch a person, then you don't feel a connection. Someone to cook with and someone to cook for you. Good food is also very important to you. Someone who will make you less stubborn and someone who will persevere and not give up on you.Someone who will make you feel that it's okay to just enjoy and exist.
Gemini Moon-you need a relationship that includes a lot of communication, stimulation, interesting things, new things. Someone you can talk to for hours. Someone with whom you will share an intellectual side of yourself. It is important to you that the person has a good mentality and intelligence. Someone who is sociable and gets along with his relatives, or at least includes that in your life. Someone to watch funny videos with and comment on things. Someone with whom you will go shopping or do some daily activities.Someone who will always make you feel like you can talk about how you feel no matter what it is.
Cancer Moon-you need a relationship that is emotional, gentle, safe, caring, above all, that someone fulfills you emotionally and gives you the feeling that you can freely express your emotions. A relationship that will represent your home. It is important for you to share a space with a person you have in common and to create an environment that is only yours. You play cards and watch movies under the covers. The relationship can be warm and comfortable. A person who makes you feel at home. With Cancers, it's not even that important to include family (although many people think so), they want to create their own family with that one person. You need someone who will know all your feelings and know exactly what you need without expressing it. Someone who will be with you through thick and thin and will never leave you. "Save me and I will save you"
Leo Moon- you need a relationship that is teenage, playful, warm, full of surprises, even childish (to bring the inner child into your life). You want someone to give you a feeling of childhood, nostalgia. You need romance and maybe children too. Children can be a big contributor here. So you will be emotionally looking for a person with whom you will have children or see her potentially for this. You need someone with whom you can share hobbies and do more things. Also a lot of attention, a person who will put you first. A relationship that will bring sunshine into your life. Someone who will always make you feel that you are young and that you can be a child forever.
Virgo Moon-you need a relationship that is healthy (literally healthy - in the sense that you don't want a toxic relationship, drama and things like that) I think this is also the only moon that really hates it and they will always look for a partner that will be healthy for them. A relationship in which you will have some benefit, that you will do something for yourself together, such as exercise, body care, healthy eating, etc. You like to take care of others and you like to be of service to others, so also a relationship in which you can do a lot for the person but at the same time the relationship, which is practical and gives you the feeling that the person also gives a lot to you. Someone who will give you a sense of peace and calm.
Libra Moon- you need a relationship that is romantic, a little dreamy, harmonious, balanced. A relationship in which you will feel beautiful and admired, that the person will give you the feeling that you are beautiful and that you have a beautiful style. You need love, and this will also be one of the important things for you to have a relationship that is really focused on the two of you. Someone who will buy you nice things, give you lots of compliments. A union that will be peaceful and just. Also which includes a lot of communication especially about you two. That you can find some intellectuality in the relationship. A relationship in which you will always feel okay and that regardless of the conflict, you will still stay together. To do things together and share things.Someone who will always pick you up and never stop admiring you.
Scorpio Moon-you need a relationship that is intense, deep, emotional, self-sacrificing, faithful. Loyalty is really important in your relationship and that you can completely trust your partner and know that you are the only one. Maybe even someone who is a little more dominant and in control of things, so that you have the feeling that he is really interested in you. Depth is really important to you and you want to connect with someone on a really deep emotional level, to know everything about your partner and to tell you all the secrets. Maybe also a relationship that is hidden from others, that you emotionally like it when the two of you have secrets that others don't know. Intimacy is also one of the very important things to be able to connect with a person, so that your partner can fulfill you here. Sharing finances and soul. Someone who will see your dark side and still love you.
Sagittarius Moon-you need a relationship that will bring you growth, optimism, a journey where you can learn something, fire, passion. You need someone who will emotionally fulfill the passion you long for. You need the drama of someone who will be a little crazy and do crazy things with you. Someone who will never leave no matter what the situation is. That the fire will always burn. You need a relationship that will give you new perspectives on life and bring you enthusiasm. Someone you will want to marry and share the whole world with. Marriage is very important to Sagittarius (rules over the 9th house - which also shows this). You need activity and events so that you and the person can do a lot during the day. You need a person who will put fire in you. A relationship in which both of you will feel that you want to discover the same things and also with someone with whom you share spirituality and the same belief. Someone with whom you will not feel like a stranger, but at home. Someone who will share the journey with you and make you feel that you are not alone.
Capricorn Moon-you need a relationship that will open you up emotionally, give you support, stability. Someone you can build a future with. You always look at whether a person can fulfill you emotionally in the long term and how much they can bring you. A relationship that will give you the feeling that it is important and serious. A relationship that pays off. Maybe even a relationship that will be good for your career and reputation. That the person will bring you some benefit from the work and that you will be able to invest in this work with the person. It is important to you how others accept the relationship you have (which is why you may sometimes be unsure about whether you really want it or not). Especially how the parents view the relationship can be an important factor here. You need someone who will give you the feeling that he is responsible, serious, mature, disciplined, has ambitions and goals and is determined. Someone who will build with you and will never tire of building.
Aquarius Moon-you need a relationship that is unique, different, friendly, visible. A relationship in which you will feel that you can be you and that the person accepts you and accepts your feelings. A relationship that will give you a sense of freedom but also stability. Someone who shares the same interests and views as you. Especially when it comes to society, you want someone who looks at the system of society in the same way (someone who is too average and thinks the same as others or does something other than others quickly puts you off). Someone who stands out with their looks and personality. It is important that the person takes you over and that there is something completely different about this person than others. Someone who will make you feel that it's okay to be different and choose a different path.
Pisces Moon- you need a relationship that is fantasy (emotionally fulfills your emotional fantasies), spiritual, gentle, emotional, self-sacrificing, without ego. A relationship in which you will feel emotionally okay and that the person will give you the feeling that you can pour out your emotions without hesitation. A relationship that will not contain ego but will be really true without reservations is stubborn. Maybe a relationship that is magical but at the same time brings stability and reality to your life. That everything you emotionally want will come. You feel things profoundly and are highly attuned to the emotions of others. U need relationship that will give you unconditional support, understanding, and a touch of the mystical. Someone who will make you feel that illusion has no limits and will dream with you.

How to Analyze your Man ♃ (For Woman)
Knowing about the man in your life is quite simple. Many people suggest using Mars for your man.
While Mars can indicate the type of men you find hot for sex or one-night stands and his longevity, when it comes to a traditional setup of family, marriage and especially raising children, Jupiter has more weightage because your man is supposedly instrumental in the birth of children (Jupiter rules children). So, whomever you co create with becomes your Jupiter.
Check your Jupiter sign and conjunctions and aspects to Jupiter. Jupiter stays in 1 sign for about a year. So, the conjunctions and aspects to Jupiter can differentiate your man from other Jupiters. If your Jupiter is in Libra but conjunct Mars, this can be very different from just having Jupiter in Libra alone.
Check for aspects to Jupiter. If Sun squares or Mars opposes Jupiter, this can mean a more masculine partner. If Moon or Venus aspects Jupiter, this makes for a more feminine partner. So accordingly check for all aspects to Jupiter. Aspects make the most subtle difference.
Check the houses Jupiter rules. This is very important as this is dependent on your ascendant. Example for Capricorn ascendant, Jupiter rules 3rd and 12th house. So, your spouse will have qualities of Gemini and Pisces. IMO, this is single most important factor as the sign is pretty much the same for all women born in that period. If you are Leo rising, husband will activate houses 5 and 8 meaning qualities of Sun and Pluto. your husband will bring themes of these houses in your life (children and sexual bonding here for Leo)
Check the house placement of Jupiter. This is again important to differentiate. If Jupiter is in cancer but in 10th house, then your spouse may not be so nurturing but also have some Saturnian qualities.
Check if you are running the major period of Jupiter. This can be significant if Jupiter runs anywhere between ages 20 and 60.
Check the house distance between Moon and Jupiter. Jupiter in 6,8,12 from Moon can mean a difficult relationship with your Man (6=Addictions, 8=Transformations, 12-distance).
Check if Rahu or Ketu or Pluto conjuncts Jupiter. This can impact your marriage deeply.
Finally check placement of Jupiter in D9 and D7 (if you are aware of these harmonic charts). You should check the conjunctions, aspects, house placement and house rulership as we did above.

Red Velvet Deep Dive #2/2: Ten Years Of K-pop Outside The Box

Here are my credentials (again): Red Velvet was the first k-pop group I ever loved, even though Blackpink was really my introduction. I became a ReVeLuv in 2019, because of Russian Roulette, and I’ve been a fan since, including of the members’ solo careers (Wendy in particular). But as I’ve gotten more into k-pop and since they come back so infrequently, I haven’t really been keeping up with them and I feel like I’m less of a fan than I once was. So, I’m super excited for their comeback, and I’m hoping that through this deep dive, I’ll fall back in love just in time for the new EP.
Part One:

The way TB calls TG misogynist just because we point out Feudalism and how Westeros works! Trust me we would love to see a woman sit the throne. but said woman who you worship has 3 bastards, has 'killed' her husband which makes people scared of her for the wring reasons, knows nothing of warfare but acts like she's a genius cause she read up about Visenya, knows nothing about duty and thinks just cause her daddy said so she can do as she pleases.
Our options aren't good either way, but TB doesn't care and throws all of Rhaenyra's flaws in a dark closet and hope no one notices. I'm tired of it, truly, TB calls TG names but if we do were monsters and misogynistic.
why does Rhaenyra get nuance when she’s disinheriting other noblewomen to shore up her own position, but when Alicent does it she’s a misogynistic bitch, hmm? Maybe let’s think about that.
"Love triangle this, love triangle that.." What about Takayoshi?!

Look at them. Have never seen such amazing potential of becoming a great girlboss and malewife couple like those two have.
the lyrics of this song by The Crane Wives remind me of Nam Seon-Ho by Woo Do-Hwan from My Country The New Age. Please give a fanfiction or Headcanon where he can find love and care away from every character of that korean drama, none of them can see and read trough him and be thank full and appreciate his existence

never not thinking about this song

The comment:

And not just international, when i saw mctna clip on youtube, the Koreans also gushing about how pretty he is 😭😭😭 I mean yeah, him being so pretty in it is undeniable, but the fact that it was a universal experience while watching this show is sending me.
Nam Seon ho and his stupidly beautiful face.
