me, telling myself that blamore with white eyelashes and eyebrows isn't a real thing yet, so i can't be making posts about it

at the time, giving this man a warning for daring to step near its property with his horrid fear-inducing toxin seemed like a good idea to blamore — but now blamore was beginning to question whether killing jonathan on sight would've been the better choice now. the look in the good doctor's eyes told the creature everything he needed to know about his character, in his mind: that jonathan would likely pull it apart and study it if given the chance.

and blamore had about enough of being viewed as an experiment for a lifetime. its eyes narrowed as they settled on jonathan's form, the stance he took clearly being done deliberately as it showed off every sharp angle and crevice of its spine. the end of the row of vertebrae was also curled in mid-air like a tail, showing blamore could move it towards jonathan if he so chose to. an incredulous laugh suddenly escaped its lips at the other's forwardness, ❝ well, any time someone transitions to becoming a higher being, it's a given that it's not going to be comfortable. not that that's any of your business... salaud curieux (nosy bastard).❞

that last part is said in a slightly lower tone, but still loud enough for jonathan to hear, blamore seemingly believing that was true. that he was better than someone like jonathan. the creature let out an amused hum at his next statement, as if he found it rich he should be saying that. blamore decided at that moment to summon a sharpened bone out of its hand to serve as a weapon. it then approached jonathan, now just a few inches away, and pressed the tip of the blade to the other's chest.

❝ funny. i am focusing on myself, épouvantail (scarecrow). you were lingering around my greenhouse like a little pest — no doubt planning to cause trouble. so, i highly suggest you leave before i run out of patience. ❞

the sentiment appears to go unnoticed, or at least unappreciated. crane's lips press into a thin line, and his unblinking stare focuses intently on blamore, gradually roaming over its various deformities. the good doctor is fascinated— morbidly so. regardless of how dangerous it might be. regardless of how much of a threat this conversation is intended to be.

❛ that looks painful, ❜ he muses, brows gently lifting. it's not entirely clear what, specifically, crane is referring to, but it almost doesn't really matter when blamore is so deformed. he wonders how long it will take before his entire body has become lost to its own foliage, consumed by itself. that would make for quite the sight. crane's voice remains deceptively soft. ❛ i suggest you focus on yourself... before you begin worrying about anyone else. ❜

i think that the idea of the plants that have now sprouted from blamore's body having a little bit of sentience to them, kind of like how you'd expect them to be in real life, is lowkey such a fun idea because like — although plants do not have a centralized nervous system like humans do, there has been multiple studies done on them that prove that they do produce electrical impulses. these can move them towards light using turgor pressure to help them during their development.

they also respond to their environment (albeit on a more 'primitive' level, i guess you could say) by growing their stems, roots, or leaves toward or away from stimuli through these electrical impulses. and one more important thing to mention is that plants can communicate with each other. though, not at overly long distances. which is something that i wanted to bring up because this means that blamore's plants can technically logically move in the presence of things that are perceived as 'threats' by them; like, for example, someone's hand.

thus, and i have actually done one roleplay on here that featured this with em, if you were to try to touch its plants in say its ribcage... then it's possible that they will move away to get away from 'danger.' though, as i mentioned before, plants don't have the same understanding of it as humans do / we do and so i guess you could say they're not really intellectualizing what is happening. they're just kind of depending on sensations like pressure in order to try to defend themselves and do this through the use of electrical signaling / sometimes hormones. however, i still think it's neat to think about LOL
