I’ve been sending Adam pics to a few friends this morning with some thoughts about them. It’s my distraction to start my morning. This one got away with me a bit, but I thought it was worth sharing, even if amuses other fans. 

This one with the glasses actually makes me think of Clark Kent. It's a small smile, but so sweet. I can't see Adam as Clark/Superman, but perhaps Rey wants Ben to wear a Superman costume to a Halloween party, and he shows up in glasses and a flannel shirt and tells everyone that he's Clark still on the farm, dressed for a day (okay, actually just a few minutes, that's all it takes Clark) of farm chores, and thinking about how he looks without glasses. He's worn them since he was a kid, because his parents both needed them, it would seem weird if their supposedly biological son didn't. But soon he'll be in the big city of Metropolis, maybe he could start going without? Does he look okay without glasses? He's so used to them, his face seems strange naked. And thankfully he decides he'll keep them, so he can still use their removal as part of his disguise when he soon becomes Superman.

And admittedly, Rey is a little exasperated, because she'd almost come dressed as Lois Lane, but a sharp suit and a notepad had seemed like lazy cheating, so she's amazingly stylish as Harley Quinn, baseball bat and ponytails and all, with a special blond rinse, and she'd wanted to see Ben in tights, would that be too much to ask? Those man's legs deserved spandex clinging to them, and Rey deserved to see it. But he's so freaking adorable, wandering around with his glasses half-pulled down, earnestly and geekily telling everyone who will listen this elaborate backstory about Clark's thoughts so he could get away with jeans and plaid shirt, that screw it, they'll leave this party early and she'll climb him like a tree and totally forgive him as soon as he makes her come twice.

Maybe she'll talk him into tights next year.

I know these pictures have been all over Tumblr in the last few days, but they gave me bunny thoughts I had to share. 

Here's Ben, trapped in quarantine, gazing out the window, looking to see if Rey is approaching. He knows he should be grateful, he works mostly at the computer, and he's an important person, he has no worries about losing his job. He spends his day on his keyboard and Zoom in his comfortable apartment. But it kills him that Rey is an essential worker, and he finds himself often at the window, hoping that she'll come home early for some reason and he'll see her approach. She's careful, of course, she puts her scrubs in the washing machine and then takes a shower, but afterwards, she's his, to comfort from the stresses of the day, to cuddle and make slow, sweet love to her. She wanted to stay completely distant from him, but that was more than he could tolerate.

Sometimes he just drapes himself over the couch, when she hasn't been gone long and he knows it's pointless to look out the window. He can't focus on work any more, and needs a few minutes to be miserable and recoup, wishing that there were a few things in their apartment he could break. Since meeting Rey, he's been working on his anger management skills, but oh, he'd really love to smash things. Anger at the world's situation, anger at the risks Rey takes, anger that supporting her is all he can do, and that seems like such a small contribution to a massive problem. He can't find a way to release his anger, so he waits and mopes.

I made myself a bit sniffly about poor Ben in quarantine.
