Him
I LOVE SHADOWKNIGHT LAWRENCE SM THAT I STARTED DRAWING HIM WHEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING ON A COMMISSION SO HERE WITH LIL 30 MIN DOODLE
âwho will (MCD) Aphmau choose?? Laurance?? Garroth?? Aaron?? which side will win the ship warââ fuck that noise. this ainât about that. it ainât about which male wins the trophy, itâs about which love does Aphmau lose first. Itâs about the loss of who dies first, who isnât there, who is gone and who comes back. Who is there to hold her in the night, while they grieve and hope and wait for their husband to come home. How do the boys hold and love one another intimately and deeply.
How does Garroth cradle Laurance in his arms after he escapes all the torture he endured in the Nether, running his hands through his hair and telling him everythingâs gonna be okay. Itâs about Aaron losing his wife and feeling so hopeless, so depressed and traumatized, lost and full of bleak, self-destructive self-loathing, believing wholeheartedly that no one could ever love him like that again, only for him to find not one, but three (maybe even more!) whole people who love him and marry him and bring out the light in him again, making him smile all over again. Itâs about Aphmau trying to carry the entire world on her back, trying to do everything herself and fix every single personâs problems all by herself, so the other three boys come in and tell her âhey, itâs okay, you donât have to expend yourself like that, let me help you carry the burden for a while. rest, sleep, take care of yourself and slow down. Iâll take care of the dangers for a while.â Itâs about Aphmau coming into the world alone and coming out of it with a tight-knit community and a circle of love all around her, because she just holds that much overflowing love in her heart that she has to share it all. Itâs about Laurance and Aphmau teaching Garroth to love himself and build up his self-confidence after his family tore it down. Itâs about Garroth learning what true family means. Itâs about Laurance and Aaron recovering together at the end of it all, healing from the time they both turned into monsters because of cruel, godly forces out of their control using them like puppets. Itâs about Laurance bringing fun, light, life, and confidence into Aphmau, Garroth, and Aaronâs worlds, light they all desperately need. Itâs about Garroth being a soft place to land to Aphmau, Laurance, and Aaron, because they all desperately need the comfort and the stability that he provides. Itâs about Aaron finding home.
Itâs about healing from past mistakes and ridding yourself of guilt. Itâs about maintaining your humanity and your sanity through love and family and hope. Itâs about them working together as a team, because they need, need, NEED each other so badly. Itâs about the four of them all slowly dying and rotting while theyâre on their own, away from their partners, fighting time and space and the gods and the cosmos above to come back to them.
Itâs about Laurance dying first, so Garroth and Aphmau miss him dearly and desperately try to get him back. And then itâs about Garroth disappearing next, so Laurance and Aphmau and Aaron miss him dearly and do everything in their power to get their husband back. Itâs about Aaron still holding on to his self-loathing enough that when he sees Garroth loving Laurance and Aphmau, he thinks heâs so much better at loving them and so much purer of a soul than Aaron has ever felt that he genuinely believes that Laurance and Aphmau would be better off with Garroth in his place. Then itâs about Aaron dying, and all three of them are horrified and grieving, and then Aaron comes back as The Shadow Lord, and they have to fight against time and space and the gods to prove to Aaron that they love him so damn much, that he breaks free from the mind control and fights to come back. Itâs about undoing the scar that Shad and Ireneâs relationship left behind. Itâs about all three boys giving their life in self-sacrifice, each of thinking the others will be happier without them, and each being proven so damn wrong.
Itâs about all four of them reuniting at the end and getting their happily ever after together.
The "I fell in love with my best friend" Tribute was a peak in the timeline.
Chronic Zanemau misser.
Haven't touched anything Aphverse in a hot minute, and the only thing I truly miss is Zanemau. Wanna go back to the time when it was a popular ship again.
Mys Season 7 trailer reminded me why I love Zanemau so much.
I want to eat his hair

we are the same, you and i.
Zenix đ„ș

Every starting villager of Phoenix drop! Explanations and backstory ahead:
Brendan and Kiki are identical twins hailing from Tuâla. Their family moved to Ruâaun after discovering that Kiki had magicks. They became farmers near Brightport. Their canon backstory proceeded from there. Eventually, Brendan went across the channel to meet new people. Kiki followed him.
Kiki used to look more like Brendan, but eventually grew out her hair and dyed it to look more feminine. She always has a little something for her animals in her bag. Kiki doesnât stay in the village full-time, as she likes acquiring new animals for her stand.
Molly is a middle-aged woman who lives in the maiden house. Her partner, Dale, lives in the guard tower with their son Brian. For various reasons, they arenât married yetâ mainly, because marriage is incredibly expensive and living together unmarried is very dangerous in Ruâaun. But the two of them make the best of it. Theyâve been scrounging together money so that they can afford a priest from Brightport to bless their marriage. Brian loves his parents, and wants to be a guard like his dad. Dale hopes Brian gets stationed in a richer village, even if heâll miss his son. He wonât leave thoughâ Phoenix Drop is his home
Emmalyn was born in Phoenix Drop not all that long ago. In her 20âs, sheâs the youngest resident after Brian and Zenix. Her parents died to the undead when she was just a baby. But she grew a love for knowledge, and decided to pursue being a researcher. She left for Scaleswind to go to university, staying with her aunt. Now, she runs the library where she collects all sorts of books. Her current specialty is in curses and the various magical creatures of Ruâaun; however, she has many more books in her collection. Perhaps, even some from the time of IreneâŠ
Zenix was a boy found by Garroth at 13 years old. He was incredibly malnourished and scared all the time. He often used to attack Garroth out of fear. But eventually, he realized he was safe in the village. Garroth says he doesnât have to do anything at all, but Zenix decided to become a guard to pay him back for his kindness. His eyes turned permanently red at a certain point, but he seemed to have better control over his emotions. Garroth was glad to see he was getting better. He had no idea what Zenix actually did
Garroth is the mystery guard of Phoenix Drop that we all know and love. His cover story is that he grew up in Brightport with Azuraâ if anyone asks her, thatâs what she says. He doesnât like saying that himself as he feels bad lyingâ but will if directly asked. His number one priority has always been the safety of the village and its people. Heâs never asked anyone to work, instead believing that what needs to get done will because it must happen. So far, the village is scraping by. But as every day passes, more money hemorrhages from the villageâs savings and more people jump ship for a village that isnât dying. In desperation, he turns to a hired contractor⊠to hire her for the unaskable task of running the village.
Most days, youâll find Stephanie spinning wool into yarn. It was a good way to pass the time, and earn a little extra change for her eventual wedding. Sheâd been born in Brightport alongside her sister Meridaâ but she went across the channel after being charmed by Corey. Corey was from Scaleswind, and came to Phoenix Drop many years ago to look for emerald mines. Eventually, the meager ore deposits dried up. But he didnât return homeâ he was charmed by the young woman from Brightport that he met. So he stayed, and became the villageâs carpenter. Now he creates furniture, fencing, and whatever other strange thing the new lord needs
Lydia was born more inland. She was an orphan, kept in the orphanage. Her passion was for singing, and she had a beautiful preforming voice. However, there was no way for her to pursue this; singing was not considered real work, and she could not support herself. When she turned ten, as all orphans do, she was kicked onto the street. The only maiden houses in the village were brothels, or houses where the family of the woman pays for her stay. Because of this, she turned and left. Itâs a miracle she survived all those years of traveling. But eventually, she came across Phoenix Drop; a village that asked nothing of her, and she asked nothing of it but a home. Sheâs now fiercely protective of the village and of other women in her situation; she will befriend women and direct them into their village to get them out of their circumstances. Garroth is happy to accommodate them.
"WRONG LEVERRRRRRR!!!"
In a swapped mcd au where aphmau and co. are the bad guys and Zane and the jury of nine are the good guys.
i like to think that aphmau and garroth would have a yzma and kronk dynamic.

âThis is your daily, friendly reminder to use commas instead of periods during the dialogue of your story,â she said with a smile.
Mother called him zvanyalken, demonblood. She called him enkyaiken, Enkiâs blood. She calls them livyahken, frostblood.
âYou are Travis, son of Elsbeth,â Mother told him when he was young. âYou are a son of Galâruk, and one day you will protect its people from the forces of the Warlock Valkrum as I have been, and you will be one of a long line of warriors.â
Travis ran his hand over his motherâs embroidery project. This one was a new quilt for his bed. His old one didnât cover him completely anymore and blizzard season was coming. He liked the blizzard season. Mother didnât go out imp hunting as often, so she didnât get hurt as often. He liked watching her work, her stitches were so neat and straight.
âWas he always bad, Mother?â
She added another stitch to the arctic fox running across the hem. âIâve never known him to be, but there was a time before I knew him,â she said. âI thought he was a sweet man when we first met, but that wasnât really him.â
Travis was zvanyalken. He was a shape-changer, a skin-shifter. He was born with horns, with fangs and claws. He spent most days squishing his insides into human-shapes. He spent most days trying to look like Mother for as long as he could.
He did not look like Mother that day. That day, he had horns and fangs and claws. The points of his teeth caught on his lip when he spoke, his nails tore through his motherâs beautiful stitches like a knife if he wasnât careful, if he didnât dull them down.
âWas he a different person in the skin you knew?â Travis asked.
âNo, no. I donât think he was a different person at all. He was only pretending to be someone else.â
Mother set down her needle and embroidery. She tipped his chin up and ran a hand over his hair. Over one of his horns.
âYouâre not a different person when you shift skins either, Travis,â she said. âNo matter what form you take, snowflake, you are still Travis, son of Elsbeth. You always will be.â
His lip bled when he smiled, caught on a fang. It was healed by the time he licked the blood away.
âCome sit with me, snowflake. Iâll teach you how to make a fox.â
She guided his hands through embroidering a smaller, much worse fox trailing after the first. The conversation drifted from his mind, and when he woke up one day soon after in the skin of an arctic fox, she brushed his coat until it shined and made him a nest in front of the hearth until he shifted back because he wasnât big enough to reach his bed.
My new fav hobby is drawing faces on aphmau characters(zenix)

his tooth gap is VERY important to me. and it is cannon, jess told me personally

LAURENCE IS BACK.

Shad just wanted to be a fatherâŠ

But sometimes we canât always have what we want.
Right?
The fact we never got to SEE how all that played out will forever be the heartbreak of MY LIFE!!!
That is such a heavy and complicated lore drop! AND we never got all the details or relationships or even a full understanding on what the heck was going on with that! Just bits and pieces across different series.
I agree
What the hell, Irene!?!
I just learned why Shad hates Irene in canon and knowing what I do now about everyoneâs favorite the Matron, I can say with my whole heart,
What the hell, Irene
Thinking about how Laurence views his mortality after The Nether.
Cause obviously it can't be the same after becoming the irl corpse husband. And as we know Laurence is choosing to pass up immortality purposefully, so he has to to have considered what actually dying would mean for him, right?
Especially with his chosen career.
We know that Ru'aun has a sense of reincarnation. But we don't know how the realm of Ru'aun views the afterlife, if they have an idea of ideal afterlife at all.
But whatever they believe it has to be better than The Nether. Because that's all that's lined up for Laurence.
If I'm not mistaken, mortal Shadowknights become shadow-souls when the die? Which are the souls of former Shadowknights but like- kinda bound to the Nether (sometimes).
Has Laurence considered that? The implications of that?
That is so heavy! Despite all his fighting, all his battles, all his wins and losses, despite everything he has ever and will ever do in his lifetime. In the end, he will be right back to The Nether. For eternity.
Does he think about that ever? When he's fighting those shadow-souls does he ever stop to think, "one day I'm going to be an aimless monster"??? Like, sir thus is a Chillies đ°
He has to have thought about it, with all the time he has spent in The Nether, with his choice to not pursue immortality, and again, his life as a guard is to put his body on the line to protect others. The threat of death is not new.
But Laurence has it different in compared to other guards, Laurence has it different in compared to most people. He knows exact where he will go when he dies. And he knows that it isn't a good place.
And yet he risks his life anyway. Risks going back to that place, to The Nether anyway!
That is so intense.

TravisâŠâŠ.&!:!:!!!,,,,
almost everytime Aphmau interacted with him there was an option saying how bad she wants to kiss Travis or mention how hot he is, Laurence also commented on Travisâ looks briefly⊠what iâm hearing it that Travis is simply the prettiest in all the lands
anyways here is my mcd design for him
Wait, holâ up⊠Zenix got the SKs to hold off from killing Kiva, an innocent little girl? Whilst actively kidnapping a man?
Hm.
Maybe itâs just feminism at this point.
And Iâm joking when I say that, but like I do find it super interesting how Zenix does have these very moral extremes, often all at once.
Shooting Garroth on a patrol he refused to let Aphmau join because he was worried sheâd get hurt. Kidnapping Burt (which he was originally planning on doing, apparently) but telling the other SKs to leave Kiva be.
Itâs clear that he has An Agenda, his cruelty is to fit that, only only really that. Right now, his Agenda is killing Garroth, and he Shot him, and now his job is to make sure that sticks. How? By taking out the only available healer in the area. Even with injuring Brendan, you can kind of try and imply that it was some long-set plan, injuring him as a practice (the injuries are EXACTLY the same, apparently), and to use up the very finite resource of Citrus HerbâŠ
Because I do read this as being about Zenix, though obviously it can be ambiguous without more details. Just because he did have Burt when Aph sees him, Vylad doesnât talk, and Zenix is kind of known for sweet-turned-mean⊠which all characterise the âmasked manâ as Kiva describes him. The only inaccurate descriptor is âmaskâ because itâs a helmet, not a mask, and so it COULD be about Vylad, but I doubt it. I just think itâs Jesson inaccuracy, and also from the recollection of a child.. soâŠ
Small addition, after finishing the episode; he is also fleeing the Nether with a lasso I think itâs pretty obvious itâs him. Even if Jess does bait us with him and Vylad a lot and switch them in certain situations
Quotes, S1Ep18, without the typos:
âThe monsters were trying to use me as a sacrifice⊠but this masked man told them to hold offâ - Kiva, about her well-being
âThe lord! He was taken by the masked man⊠the masked man came and saw he was here and said something about ânot having to kidnap him, himselfâ⊠and took the lord with him⊠the masked man looked so nice at first⊠but he was scary.â - Kiva, about Lord Burt and a âmasked manâ
And now I am crying đ„Č
Tbh we give a lot of shit for the mischaracterization of Garroth in mystreet and while I definitely think there is merit to that idea because of how VASTLY different he is from his diaries self, but I actually enjoy it. Mainly because, I like the idea that given the chance, Garroth is a light hearted silly guy, who doesnât have to have his walls up 24/7. The idea that Garroth, not threatened by war or marriage, military and lordship, is just a happy go lucky idiotâ allowed to be who he wants to be. If things were different, and life was kinder to Diaries Garroth, heâd be the same guy he is in Mystreet.
Mystreet Garroth is totally different because he has a totally different life from Diaries Garroth. While I donât think anyone was really disputing that or anything, I rarely see anyone saying this, but itâs something that routinely rots my brain.
I imagine in my slutty-slutty-little-brain that Laurence Zavhl looks like "The Local Cuisine" from Arcane.
If you know, you know.
The amount of vivid dreams I have had in which Minecraft Diaries season 3 returns is custom mental torture sent straight from the adhd department in my brain.
I have some pent-up mommy-issues with that series fr.
I resent how everything got dumbed down bit by bit to accommodate for the growing (maybe-maybe not-predatory) brain-rot era taking over Minecraft content.
How every character slowly burned into a parody of themselves with one-note personalities and no depth at all. How the plot got more extreme but somehow more shallow. How every feeling, every character, every storyline had to be spoon-fed to the audience in palatable market-sized doses.
I can't help but feel insulted by that.
I know Jess' audience has always been young, and that her content of course has to accommodate that, but young DOES NOT equal dumb. Kids deserve complexities in their stories just as much as adults, IF NOT MORE SO. Stories have given kids a space to be entertained and be exposed to complicated situation for generations. They deserve the same dignity in the stories they consume as we do!
Heck, WE were kids when Diaries Dropped!
Even though I enjoyed Mystreet as it was coming out too, it always felt like a placeholder- a seat warmer to Diaries.
As a kid I remember specifically how "Emerald Secret" felt like the answer to my prayers and a slap in the face at the same time. There was a notable tone shift when that dropped. It felt like it was trying to be Diaries. And they are just not the same.
Diaries is an entire immersive world lore and world-specific characteristics.
Mystreet is whatever the Heck Jess says it is.
Mystreet lives in a vacuum and things just simply don't exist until Aphmau touches it.
(Like Kim, where did she come from)?
Mystreet, after "Emeral Secret" felt like it was chasing after the greatness of the sister-series, while still carrying the Mystreet-Hype audience. But that kind of storytelling didn't really fit with the easy-going world she had made around Mystreet.
Mystreet was just not ready for that kind of shift at the time, characters were one-trick-ponies, drama was in all honesty not-that-deep, there were no villains to slay, no battles to win. But it happened anyway. And it was a mess. A lot of things had to be shoved in suddenly without warning to raise the stakes and further the plot.
Now that isn't to say that because of the nature of the world-building in Mystreet that bigger plots than- say a furniture store- were not possible. Werewolf racism, complex, engaging and fits in the universe. That Ro'Meave vs Lycan family stuff was kinda juicy. Gene if we actually treat that seriously. Even some Magical Lucinda shenanigans are engaging and fit smoothly within the story provided.
But Emerald was a HIT! Regardless. You can say what you want about Jessica, but I do believe that she is a fantastic storyteller. Maybe not a good storywriter, but a good storyteller. I think of her as D&D adapting Game of Thrones vs GRRM who wrote the books. She understands pacing well enough and knows what fans want most importantly.
Unfortunately, with Emerald being a HIT that kind of set that awkward-messy-dramacore as the standard for future content. As long as its EXTREME and there is a whole lot of SUFFERING that means its very good (very much like Game of Thrones actually).
In summary the parody became a parody of itself again and again until we got Cocomelon-Core "Today On My Minecraft Server, Pregnant Mod!!!"
I am about to say something controversial, please donât come for me!!
I really really resent Mystreet.
Now listen, I donât hate it per say⊠But the fact that Mystreet came out after MCD, using MCD characters and was only meant to be like a funny modern au and then turned into all THAT honestly makes me really sad.
Just that fact that it got SO much more popular, to the point that some Mystreet fan donât even know the source material is really disheartening to me.
I know how silly this sounds, I mean even I watched Mystreet growing up and enjoyed it, and it helped Jess get even more popular. Like, I know itâs not that deep..
But now that Aphmauâs back and talking about how sheâll be bringing an old series back.. Realistically I know itâll probably be season whatever of Mystreet. I mean, that would be the logical move right? Bring back the most popular series. And I mean, thatâs what everyoneâs begging her to do right? But I honestly wish sheâd listen to the four of us MCD fans and continue the series that made our childhood and left that empty hole in my soul.
Does anyone else feel like that? Just me..?
I just really hate how Mystreet overtook MCD

Zane's most favored and devoted Juror
