we had to pretend everything was fine in front of the capulets and my family (since paris is sort of a capulet himself now), for if they knew literally any of the things that we do behind their backs, they would punish tybalt and kick us all out (for example, if they knew about juliet and her... secret boyfriend. or if they knew I am on the montagues' side and, um, accompanied by one at the party. good thing they like masquerades and we get to go all together... (kind of symbolic, now that I think about it 🫢)
