As Of Right Now I Am A Firm Believer Of Having A Secret Side Project That You Can Pour All Your Frustrations
as of right now I am a firm believer of having a secret side project that you can pour all your frustrations / things you also want to write about into while also focusing on your main project
because there is something so cathartic about knowing that this project is just yours, and that you actually won't be judged for having a good time and writing whatever. whether this is journaling or making a silly little adventure/romance side quest, or writing a fanfic, I love knowing that sometimes I'm not stuck in my writing, or having to figure out a plot.
and honestly I just used to focus on one wip at a time, but doing that has really lowered my confidence a lot, because writing fantasies and plotting are very meticulous. so to have something that's both a quick release and a reminder that I can write is something that has really boosted my confidence and healed me to love writing again. <3

you're getting distracted again. focus.
drink a cup of water, tie your hair up, pull on your comfiest clothes, get your desk clean and ready, print out past papers, set your notes out, turn your laptop on, turn off all distractions, take out your stationary, open your books, take a deep breath, and just start.
character development

if you are developing a character and need to figure out their desires, their fears, and their flaws, I highly, highly recommend this because the eneagram essentially goes / does a deep dive into what the character truly craves, and I think it's so useful when writing !!

LITERALLY MISS THIS. also reposting bc there are never enough writing resources.
It’s finally here!

My favorite time of year… time for spreadsheets and statistics! This is my second year sending out this spreadsheet for people to use, and it’s got just about everything I could think of (until I think of something new). You can use this sheet to keep track of:
Annual stats
Monthly stats
Project stats
Project stats
(New!) Publications submissions
And most of it is automated to make everything as easy as possible! It’s free to use but my Ko-Fi is linked in case anyone wants to contribute to my little writing fund. You can copy the template to use for yourself, and let me know if you have any questions!
