This Guy Gets Funnier In The Comics Because We Got To Learn There That The Main Reason He Helps Zim Out
This guy gets funnier in the comics because we got to learn there that the main reason he helps Zim out on MULTIPLE occasions like this is because Zim is literally holding his adorable Vort children hostage.

As if you needed any more reason to like Prisoner 777 just know he is a whole dad and it’s heavily likely that he’s met Lard Nar at some point. The two never reference/mention each other but “The Trial” confirmed Lard as another one of The Massive’s main architects.
Even more interesting context:
Now Zim wasn’t someone who helped create The Massive, but he was stationed at the same research station for a time along with Nar and other Vortian scientists while he was working on his own project. Somewhat safe to say he was the only Irken working in their team as well.

But the important takeaway here is that Zim and Lard were literally in-person coworkers for some length of time, back when Irk and Vort were still allied factions. This means there’s a non-zero chance that Zim and Prisoner 777’s history goes back well before Operation Impending Doom, all the way back to Almighty Miyuki’s reign, and might even be part of how Zim knows which Vortian prisoner(s) had the insider knowledge that was useful for him to extort.
What goes above and beyond fascinating to me though- Zim. Considers. This guy. A Friend.
And that’s not even an inference that’s just taken from his own freaking words.
Same Zim not afraid to diss on Vortians as a whole as “filthy” while talking to GIR. Same “an invader needs no one” Zim who 97/100 times would shun social connection as utterly beneath his priorities and 2/3 times would still refuse to EVER admit to the exceptions.

This Zim.

I told you he got funny as hell.

Only one more thing that I can’t forget to mention ! He’s likely partially responsible for Minimoose existing. Checked the “Nubs of Doom” transcript. Like many of Zim’s most powerful devices and weaponry, the absolutely OP power inside of Minimoose came from Vortian design, what MIGHT have turned out to be Prisoner 777’s design, specifically.

He even knew Zim’s favorite color was purple !
The Tallest’s command ship? That would be wroooooong! It’d infuriate the Armadaaa!
I designed that ship, you know.
Here you go :)

I think it's interesting how Johnny is invincible when he's acting under the Doughboys, yet when he becomes free suddenly he no longer has that protection. Once his actions are solely his own, he must face the consequences of them.
I think it's SO interesting how this works pretty well as a metaphor for accountability. If you're under the influence of something you can argue ur actions aren't your fault- but once you get clean you have to admit they are.
“Invader Skoodge more like Invader STOOGE am I right?!”

My cousin kinassigned me Mr. Crocker, and I haven't recovered since, but I get it.
