In my AU, he was born with the star on his forehead as one of his parents (his mom to be exact) was also born with one and he just simply carried the gene.

As for the staff, it and Pure Vanilla’s connection is way more in depth. In my AU, Pure Vanilla found a wilting Vanilla Orchid when he was younger and used his healing powers to revive it. As a result, the Orchid changed into his staff we all know today and as a bonus, the staff was also able to share some powers with Pure Vanilla. (Bonus Bonus: It has full sentience and PV gave it a name, Sunny.)
