Kak nisa how are you?? What's the plan for the year-end months?
Hi Nell! Thanks for asking! If you didn't drop something in my inbox, I might've forgotten that I should post some updates on my year-end productivity challenge :v So, thanks so much for ringing my bell! :D
I'm doing pretty well, thank you! Nothing too serious, but my period threw me for a loop this week :( I had some pretty rough mood swings, I think because of it. I was a total mess. I cried almost every night.
I haven't mentioned this, but one of my cats died about three weeks ago, and I couldn't stop thinking about him. One night, I had a bit of a cry remembering him. It was really tough keeping my voice down. Obviously, I didn't want to wake my dad up. I also cried while questioning my life lol >,< Now that my period is over, I can laugh at how funny it was when I cried.
As for my plan for the year-end months, I just want to end this year with fewer regrets 😅 I want to fix some bad habits and build good habits. I also want to focus on improving my job-related skills so I can gain confidence in my career 🤗
How about you?

Potato’s Year-End Sprint 2024 - Phase 1: Planting Seeds 🌱

Week 1 (Oct 1-7)

🌱 Wins & Highlights
Though I didn’t reach my weekly goals, I’ve built some momentum! I’ve gotten valuable insights to help adjust my approach for the coming weeks.
🌧️ Challenges & Setbacks
I woke up late every day, and it threw me off. With my schedule already messed up, I only managed to do one or two small things each day.
My period hit hard, and I had mood swings, crying almost every night. I couldn’t sleep until 2-3 AM.
I planned to catch up on my Buffer Day, but I ended up being lazy. Lots of overdue tasks remain.

Progress Breakdown
👼🏻 Personal Development
Japanese: Reviewed 10 mini-lessons, no new progress
3 CBT journal entries (+1 therapy session)
Learning about self & social dynamics from different resources
💻 Professional Growth
No UX writing progress :”)
Read some career-related articles daily
☪️ Spiritual
Murajaah: 2 pages
Attended 1 Quran study session
🕰️ Morning & Nightly Routines
Morning: I don't think I have a morning routine atp :v I only stare at nothing the first thing in the morning and ask "what should I do now (that I woke up late)?"
Night: Nailed 4/7 days of my routine—floss, brush teeth, wash up, skin care, and lights out.
🍃 Health & Fitness
Appetite and energy levels were low
Didn’t track water consumption, but I think I drank less
Slept too much, yet still felt tired

Strategy for Next Week
📝Backup Calendar & Reverse Log
Implement a backup calendar so I can adjust on late-start days
Identify 2-3 key tasks to complete, no matter when I wake up
Log what I’ve accomplished as I go
💻⚓Anchor Task & Morning Routine
Set UX writing as my “anchor task”—do it first! Even if I wake up late, I’ll reduce time but still prioritize it
Start mornings with small wins like 5-minute journaling or stretching
Mentally rehearse the night before what I'll do first when I wake up late
💪🏻 Health
Track water intake using a water bottle with measurement lines
Prioritize eating at least one meal before starting the day
october goals 🌰🍁🍂🍠 in my little witch girl era~
⏪ september goals recap

i shortened my list for this month now that i have a better sense of what i can accomplish in a month so i can focus on what i really want to do!
👩💻 implement engineering project!
🧠 keep enjoying my courses!
🇨🇳 Chinese handwriting and composition practice!
✒️ finish the first draft of my domodachi project!
🧶 crochet project!
💌: you might be wondering, why is “little witch girl” the theme for this month? well, it's because i'm convinced it's going to take a magic trick to get all of this done by the end of the month that's already started 😅 but also because i like the way it sounds like “little rich girl” i'm low-key manifesting a promotion in this economy ok? 😂
robot friend does not agree. 'failure' is inability to fulfill directive. human has no programmed directive. human evolutionary directive is to live. you are alive. everything else is bonus.
I’ve been saving this message in my inbox for a long time because it always makes me feel better. I needed it today. Thank you
Wooo~ 7/10 is pretty great, right? It could've been better but it's still something to be thankful for! I hope it can be 8 or 9 one day!
I think I get why you think being busy is healthier. My mom said that having nothing to do is stressful for her. I've also been a bit busier than usual lately, but it's been great!
Thanks for the tips, Zesty! >> Focus on just a few things to make it more manageable to do every day. :))
Zesty!!!! 💛🍋🌸💗
How are you? On a scale of 1-10, how satisfied are you with life lately? How do you feel about October?
I'm sooo sooo happy that you're still around! Can you please share your secret for staying so consistent?
cutie patootie!!!! 💛🥔🍠🌼 i'm so happy you're still around too 🥺💕
i've been busy, but i think it's healthier for me rather than having too much time on my hands 🙈 i think i'm at 7/10 currently, which i don't think is bad at all!
i'm very excited for October!! although i'm a bit behind in organizing my goals for the month, i'm really looking forward to everything i'll get to do!! 🤩
my secret to consistency lately is being a little inconsistent, actually! last school year, i've experimented with going all-in on all my goals, and while i achieved good results, i think it burned me out more than it should've, so now i'm just trying to focus on a few goals each month and i like that i can focus on just one thing at a time (more or less), then put it behind me, and still feel like i'm making progress through life in general, if that makes sense!
how about you? how have you been these days? 👀
the way I wrote end-year instead of year-end just proved that I'm not a native speaker! and i'm not embarrassed! it's literally not my first language, so it's totally fine to make some errors :))
✏️ how i’m starting a bullet journal
as someone who isn’t artistic 🙈

i've wanted to start a bullet journal for so long (i even asked @a-fox-studies for design recs months ago — thank you again for those!!), but i still kept putting it off.
i felt like it was something that would be time- and resource-consuming in an unfulfilling way for me because i would make unaesthetic mistakes that would make spreads unusable for me in the future without regrets, etc., etc.
so here's what i'm doing to finally start the bullet journal of my dreams 😍
step 1: go digital
i did a lot of research so you don't have to and found the best freemium free-form notes app (with customizable pens, a sane eraser and select tool, and that also supports text and images, etc.).
DrawNote by DragonNest has so many features for free and even more cool ones if you want to pay different tiers, but i was able to make the spread above with just the free version, so i'm already very satisfied 😌
step 2: play around with it
i tried out a bunch of different pens and styles and colors to see how they look and get familiar with the apl, i tried loading images, organizing my spreads into folders within the app, etc.
what i really like about the digital format is that i can make mistakes and it's like they never happened and i didn't waste a single overpriced stationery item 😅
step 3: only use it for one thing at a time
i'm only planning to use the October tracker above for my vitamins so far since that's what i need the most motivation to remember to do lately 🙃 and i think it's a small enough goal that i can be consistent with it for this month.
i already have so many other ideas for different spreads i want to do for other things in my life, but i want to make an effort to pace myself so that i can do this sustainably because it seems really fun and i'd hate for it to start feeling like a burdensome chore due to my own carelessness 🥲
💌: hope this helps anyone who also feels they're not artistic or aesthetic, but wants to start a bujo! 💛 let me know if y'all want an update at the end of the month on how it's going~

// hi again! / short re-introduction / productivity challenge soon? //

😻 Studyblr seems to be alive again! Is it because summer break just ended in the US (or maybe the western hemisphere?) and everyone’s back to school? Where I live, elementary to high school students only have two main breaks: December-January and June-July, each lasting 2-3 weeks. But it’s the start of a new semester at my uni too, so I’m back on studyblr! :)
🎓 I’ve got some good news. I got my first straight As last semester, woohoo! Maybe I got a little lucky since I only started studying a month before finals. But to be fair, in my program, final exams count for the majority of your grade, so it’s a bit easier compared to regular uni programs where assignments weigh more heavily.
👋🏻 Oh, and I noticed I’ve gained a few new friends while I was away. Should I reintroduce myself?
Hi, everyone! I’m Nisa, but you can call me Potato if you like, haha. I’m a part-time Communications student and freelance writer, but I’m aiming for a full-time job before the year ends. I’m also planning to start a personal productivity challenge soon to help me reach that goal. I'm also learning Japanese right now :))
Nice to meet you all!

11 - 12.09.2024
general surgery has started and im feeling tired to the bone. i think i still havent gotten over the mental exhaustion from being around people 24/7 during the almost 2 month duration of the volunteering project. on the brighter note, my volunteering supervisor praised me for "already showing your presence and duty as a doctor" and i will definitely remember that until i die.
it's rainy season, so i tried watching comedy horror movie m3gan when i got back from hospital and read some shirley jackson. give me horror comedy movies or horror books!
🎧 - pineapple slice, baekhyun
📖 - we have always lived in the castle, shirley jackson. merricat my most beloved 💖

aaaah nelyaaaaa you're my favorite too! thank you for dropping this to my inbox!
i'm not sure what songs I should list, though, hmm. i love chill music like lo-fi, cute games ost, rnb soul, or something with acoustic instrumentals. i just play random songs in those genres. i also listen to Stray Kids because I love the theme and message they convey through their music. they're the only K-pop group I follow right now 😅.
with that being said, hmm, I'll just list 5 most repeated songs on my Spotify recently (no particular order):
Feel Something - Fiji Blue
D (Half Moon) - Dean, Gaeko
It's You - Max, keshi
Movie - JUNNY
1 MINUTE - Yugyeom
*boops your nose* send this to ten blogs you think are lovely and deserve a boop on the nose
zestyyyyy thank you for thinking of me, though I've been away for a while :") you're the loveliest and you deserve to be locked up in the praises and comforts jail! HAHA. love you! <3

Catching Up // September 2024
I've been absent for quite some time now, being busy traveling with friends and family and recovering from my finals. During these months, quite a few academic goals of mine have changed - something I did not expect to happen.
⭑ I realized that I want to keep my career path a bit more open ~ so I decided to apply for psychology and medicine at University. This also means preparing and taking two admissions tests in May of next year.
⭑ I've switched from volunteering at a psychiatric ward to volunteering at the hospital in the area of pediatric oncology (cancer in children) for 11 months
⭑ I will not write the Cambridge C2 Proficiency Exam this November ~ but will try to prepare for it anyways at a slow, steady pace in order for me to take it in a few years time (when I might actually need it to apply for a year abroad)
Keeping my path open also means being highly ambitious with my life, approaching competitive areas with a certain audacity and grit. It means deciding what kind of life I want to live, it's choosing my struggles and prioritizing my own path before fleeting pleasures and relationships. It is setting myself up for success and ensuring that I reach the potential that I know I have.

Hey y'all, I'm back!
This time I'm preparing for my postgrad exams, and I just started a few days ago. It's going slow, but I'm picking up the pace. This exam is a multiple choice question type, so besides reading and making notes and summarizing, I'm also solving questions everyday. The syllabus is massive though, so there's some starting problems 😅 But I find that coffee and waking up early helps.
I'm someone who listens to music a lot, and music generally helps me focus on studying too, so I usually play lofi, or more recently, this particular song on repeat - I hope it boosts your productivity too!
Have a great day y'all! Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers. Much love to you all 💕
