12: trope you’re really into

One I absolutely adore is parallel endings. It’s just my favorite way to end a story. Parallel endings (at least that’s what I call them, idk the official term) is when the end of your story is a direct parallel/call back to the beginning, maybe by using some phrase or situation, but now everything’s different. I just love that stuff.

19: most interesting thing you’ve researched for a story

Oh wow, I have no idea. I will say that I found this picture I took that I sent to some of my writer friends that’s gotta be up there

Someone sent me a request for a modern AU foster fic, so I started on that a couple days ago. It’s called ‘Frightening Fishes’, based on the ‘Shrinking’ theme song. It’s pretty angsty, believe it or not…

Also, I have a ton more for original WIPs, but I wasn’t sure if anyone wants to hear about that haha. Drop me an ask for original WIPs if you do!

I keep seeing people talk about how hard Joel was trying to cheer Ellie up, and you're right, but can we also talk about how hard Ellie was trying to be her old self for him. How she was desperately trying to make herself sound happy, apologizing for being quiet, trying to smile for him even when she probably didn't think she could.

They were both just trying so hard for each other.

🍧: Hmmmm. I’m not sure, honestly. I mean there are a lot of places where I take out my phone and jot stuff down in my notes, so I guess like… probably a grocery store or smth lol

☁️: Hmmmm, so many lol. For fanfics I have like, a hundred ideas jotted down but I’ll go with some of my favorites:

Turnaround (plotted already and I’ll probably write it at some point. Basically it’s what would happen if Ellie never turned back in the mall with Riley and never got bit) (Angsty)

In the Ring (Joel goes to meet a buyer at this underground fight club in the QZ, and Ellie is one of the fighters) (Angsty)

Name TBD (Ellie is this infamous criminal who gets captured, and Joel is a closed off no-nonsense FBI agent who decides to work with her to take down a criminal organization) (Weirdly the least angsty one on this list…)

Snow (Ellie stumbles out of the statehouse and is… alone. Joel doesn’t make it to her in time and she has to fend for herself in the Colorado wilderness for a while before he finds her) (ANGST ANGST ANSGT)

Cinema Circus (Hollywood AU. Basically, Ellie is this big up and-coming actress who just got an Oscar nom and Joel is a director, and they team up to make a movie) (actually probably the second most angsty on this list because nothing’s ever easy with me) (it’s a miracle AbelCode has stayed relatively light so far lol) (so far…)

🐠: Leigh Bardugo! I love her books SO MUCH!! SoC was the first book I ever wrote fanfic for, I’m pretty sure. I feel like you can probably see a lot of the influence her writing has had on me, especially in my angstier fics like Skin.
