Thinking about Dorian again and the way he always asks for clarification ( "Tell us." "If you tell me exactly what to do." "Say it again but slower. What do I tell them?"), looks for direction ("I don't know why I keep looking at Orym." "I look to Orym like I always have for direction") and is so critical of every (actually very smart and helpful) move on the battlefield. Always sells himself short. Never dares to praise himself. Only when directly challenged in the heat of the moment. How he is so desperate for his father's trust and so so scared to mess up. Now more than ever. He had his whole life planned out for himself and now he is the only one left. A leader who has to be powerful and sure of himself. No other choice.

If i was smarter than i currently am, i would write a long and thoughtful passage about parallels between Caduceus and Fjord, the weight of responsibility on their shoulders, placed there from a very young age, about family (Via blood and otherwise) and its importance, involuntary loneliness and enduring hardship all by yourself, concluding with the fact that they discovered kinship and family within each other which is really no surprise after all. But sadly, i'm not, so for now i'm gonna lament amazing dynamic that they had, which seems to be lost and forgotten by most in favour of other more romance leaning relationships. A shame, really. Will always be one of my favourites, this one.
