How To Be Productive:

How to be productive:

Buy a notebook or clear a place on your wall for a chalkboard, pin board or whatever.

Write down everything that you need to do.

Now determine the importance of doing each of these things. Highlight or put a star on the high priority things.

Examine how you currently spend your days and decide what hours you can replace with productive actions. (eg I like to use my lunch hour productively so I can be lazy for a few hours after class)

Now divide everything you need to do over the week. Clearly mark your due dates so that you won’t forget them.

Work somewhere that will inspire you to work. A coffee shop where you don’t know anyone, a library, your kitchen. Don’t work in your room(on your bed) or in front of a tv.

Put your phone away while you work. You don’t really need to be checking your Instagram or Snapchat. And trust me, scrolling can take up an hour of your time without you even noticing.

Exercise! Exercise really does help you stay energized.

Drink water! Get your 2-3 liters in every day.

Eat healthy foods and in smaller portions. Healthy food fuels your brains and smaller portions mean that you won’t want to take a nap to recover.

Have a rewards system. Now listen up, to have a rewards system you need to get out of the habit of just giving yourself what you want. A reward only works if you don’t get the item all the time. Rewards will vary from person to person but they could be things like doing 2 hours of proper work = 1 episode of your favorite show. 1 week of productivity every day = going out on friday night. finishing that project= this snack. etc.

Constantly remind yourself of what you’re working for. Is it University acceptance, your dream job, personal stability, your dream body? Keep the reminder close.

Cross off what you complete! This sounds funny but studies have actually shown that people feel more satisfied when they see how they’ve progressed. So, instead of mentally checking off a list, physically check off a list. It’ll motivate you!

Keep quiet about your goals! Studies have also shown that a person lets everyone know what their goal is, that person generally congratulates them, causing their brain to feel satisfied, without them actually having to do the work. But, on the other hand, we tend to be harder on ourselves when people don’t know what we’re working on.

Try not to multitask. Trust me, multitasking means that no project is finished at the end of the day. That demotivates easily. So, instead of trying to finish all tasks, focus on one and let the satisfaction of completing it fuel you to work on the next few tasks.

Remember that you can’t do everything at once. You’ll burn out. So, dedicate time for your brain to relax. Read or journal before you sleep, stretch, listen to relaxing music. Go through your skin care routine.

If you feel that you can’t start the work and cut the bad habits at once then focus on cutting out a bad habit. Start with saying no to watching tv and youtube. Remind yourself to make your bed before you leave your room. Put your phone away for a few hours. Then, once this comes easily to you replace these things.

It’s not an easy journey, so forgive yourself when you mess up and don’t follow the plan, but don’t make excuses. Take full responsibility for your actions. (Yes, I have to finish my project in two days because I watched tv every day after school. Yes, I didn’t clean the house because I stayed up so late last night that I needed to have a nap today).  Also, don’t require excuses for taking a day off for your mental health. Sometimes we just need a good reset day.

Glow up tips/ideas

Here’s my little guide how to glow up in your life:

First, get your life together:

Organise and clean your home -Having clean home will make you feel better and lighter and therefore you will be more positive.

Have a life admin day -Write down all the stuff that needs to be done, all the appointments you need to get and everything that needs to be fixed. Then schedule in a day every month or every two weeks when you tick off these thing off your list.

Do your damn laundry

Create routines -They can be long and strict or short and very opened

Fight procrastination in all the ways you can

Take your mediaction and have regular health check ups

Now it’s time for mental health:

Make sure you eat and drink water regularly

Get a therapist if you feel like you need/want one

Practise your hobbies or find new ones

Listen to your favourite music

Meditate

Create a happy atmosphere for yourself -Buy plants and flowers, let your favourite music play in the background, let in as much ligh as you can.

Warm beverages

Be as positive as you can

Try to complain less

Don’t talk shit about people, especially not behind their back -You spread negative energy and hurt yourself in the process.

Say nice things to people, compliment them as much as you can -Being nice to poeple will affect your own mood for the better.

Talk about what you love, not what you hate

Get enough fresh air.

Glow up your mind!:

Read more books -Does not matter the genre

Watch movies and series

Learn new language -Even if it’s just a few words

Watch documents

Talk to people smarter than you

Try learning random fact every day

Find a new hobby

Think of ways to make your life better and help your surrounding -Minimalism? Zero waste? Vegetarian? It depends on you.

Find a new friend

Help people

And lastly the physical glow up:

Find out how much sleep you need and stick to it -Usually 8 hours are the norm

Play around with make up -You will fail and it might look wonky from the beginning. And maybe you won’t even like it. I want you to experiment.

Make sure to go make-up-less sometimes if you wear it often

Drink water -It won’t magically clear your skin completely but it will get better.

Wash your face in the morning and in the evening, but no soap if possible

Use as little skin products as you can -Sometimes less is more.

Lip balm

Eat vegetables every day -Every. single. day. It’s the best thing I have ever done for myself.

Eat oatmeal -It did wonders for my hair.

Stretch regularly

Exercise -Find something you have fun doing and do it as often as possible.

Avoid food with too much grease and sugar -You can have it but try to reduce it.

Prepare your outfit the night before -It gives you time to think about what you’ll wear and it’s nice to have it ready in the morning.

Get clothes you feel good and confident in

Get your dream hair colour! -Get crazy if you want

Learn to be comfortable with your body

Don’t shower every day -I know, I know… but listen… It’s actually much healthier for your skin to shower every other day and wash your hair even less. Plus it saves a lot of water.

Get a perfume -Have a scent

Get enough sun -You don’t have to be tan but getting sun on your skin is very healthy and it’s visible in other ways than tan.

Smile and spread joy

If you’re happy, show it -It’s contagious

Remember that beauty comes from within. That is why I put these tips in that order.

I hope I helped and have a great year!

How To Get A Job Fast As Hell

 @owenabbott

Apply to a  job, wait (1) day, then call.  Give them your first and last name. Tell them you submitted an application and that you’re very motivated to find [Enter field name] work. Let the conversation lead you wherever it takes. Be very polite. Say” thank you for your time, I’ll be looking forward to hearing back from you.” Rinse, repeat. This is to force them to be looking out for your application.

When you get to the interview, shake their hand firmly,  tell them your first and last name.

Describe your experiences  as “ two years transcription and data entry” if you have a desk job interview and “ [however many years]  costumer service, retail and stock” for your retail jobs.

Don’t use job “ buzz words” I stg they hear them all day. Say  things like, “ I’m detail oriented and am very good at taking instruction.”  “ I would like to work for a company with integrity and I feel that [ company name] would be a good fit”

When they ask you if you have “reliable transportation” say  YES. don’t tell them what kind of transportation, just say yes. (if you don’t do this, you wont get the job , I’m telling you right now).

Research the company. Know what they do, why they do it, how OLD the company is. WHERE it was founded, and what kind of position you’re intending to apply for.

When they ask you “ give us a situation where you had to blah blah blah” Make one the fuck up. Make yourself sound good as hell, and like you put your company’s needs slightly above the customer’s needs, but make the customer happy.

If they ask you about being outgoing, Say you “like to focus on your work so you can concentrate on doing things right” (which buys you out of having to act friendly all the time)

Questions for after the interview:

1.  Does this position offer upward mobility?

2. Do you enjoy working for the company? (if you’re not interviewing for a temp agency who will send you anywhere)

Then, shake their hand,  Ask them to repeat their name (REMEMBER THIS) say thank you for your time, wish them a nice day and leave. write their name down outside if you have to, just remember the fuck out of it.

AFTER your interview, send a card directed to the name of the person who interviewed you (I’ll give you them) that says “Thank you for the interview, I appreciate the opportunity. have a great day” This shows  that you have an understanding of professionalism, and will have them thinking of you kindly (or at least remembering you) when they’re shuffling through the choices.

DO NOT tell them you just moved to the city over the phone.  In person, tell them you just moved to the city. Make it sound like the only reason you need a job is because you moved. Not because you’re desperate.

Everyone warns you about red flags in a relationship but I want to hear about green flags

So here’s some. Add your own if you’d like!

* listens to you talk when you have issues and supports you through them

* stops doing things you tell them make you uncomfortable

* compromises when necessary

* never puts you down deliberately, especially not publically

* supports your ambitions
