Nooo, Norman

Damn I actually feel bad for Sammy

Can you do a zombie one with Norman and Sammy?

I’ll try my best! 😄

————

Hands shaking. Sweat beading. Sammy held back a shuddering breath as he approached the motel Norman and Wendy had been staying in. Norman had already told Sammy through voicemail that he had taken his little sister somewhere safe. So she wouldn’t have to watch him turn, and so she wouldn’t be in danger of getting attacked. He’d have to go looking for her once this is over.

Still. That didn’t make this any less difficult. Although it was comforting knowing that he didn’t have to do what he has to do know in front of that little girl. Staring down at his pistol for what felt like minutes.

‘I’m sorry Norman.. you didn’t deserve this..’ The former music-director thought as he got close to the door. It had the currect number. The same address Norman mentioned on the phone. God, this was so hard.. if he focused hard enough he swore he could hear what sounded like quiet moaning somewhere inside.

Sammy carefully turned the door knob. Avoiding too much noise. Bracing himself for the whatever waited for him on the other side. When the door opened, he was surprised to find nothing. Just a regular motel room. It definitely had signs of being lived in. Although no signs of any threat.

Until he spotted the bathroom. He could see light under the crack of the door, and a shadow moving. Oh.. Norman must’ve locked himself in there so if anyone came looking for him he wouldn’t immediately try to kill them.

That was heartbreaking to say the least.. knowing that he had to lock himself in there.

The former music-director crept over to the bathroom door. Quiet as a mouse, he grabbed some lock-picks from his bag. Having found a pack of them in a store earlier. He very carefully twisted the lock, trying to open the door as soundlessly as possible.

With a few more twists, the door was finally unlocked with an audible click. Loud enough to grab the occupant’s attention. Sammy heard a unsettling gurgling noise. Disturbingly similar to what he imagined would be the sound made when a person chokes on their own blood.

Slowly, the young man pushed the door open to find something truly saddening.

Norman was sitting on the floor of the bathroom. One of his hands are cuffed to the handle of a cupboard. No doubt that it was to keep himself from escaping and hurting people. His eyes were yellow, and black blood was dripping down his face like tears. More blood was leaking out of his mouth. His skin was deathly pale, and his veins were visible and dark.

The moment he saw Sammy he started to growl and tried to reach for him with his other hand. When that didn’t work, the zombie tried to get up. Although his growls quickly turned into enraged shrieks upon finding that he couldn’t move. It wasn’t fair. There was food right in front of him. It smelled so delicious! His body hurt so bad. This unnatural hunger being more painful than anything he’d ever experienced. The pain strangely not being strictly located in his stomach, but also in his head.

“Norman.. I know you probably don’t remember me. Or really know what’s going on.. but I’m here to make it stop.” Sammy forced himself to muster up all the courage he had lost on the way here. “I.. I’m going to help you rest now..”

Norman answered in the form of a an aggressive snarl. Clearly not understanding a word his friend had just said to him. Continuing to try and pull his other arm free so he could get up and sink his teeth into his flesh. Tearing it to pieces.

Sammy’s hands began to shake again as he grabbed his pistol from his backpack. He slowly pointed it at the zombified form of his close friend. Steadily aiming for the head. As he did so, he thought about the times they had spent together before the outbreak. They were both still so young. Norman had hopes, and dreams, a little sister who loved him dearly. That was all gone now he guessed..

“P-Please forgive me for this Norman!”

He pulled the trigger, and Norman was no longer moving. Sammy burst into tears right then. Closing the door and leaving immediately. Unable to look at what he had done. He had just killed one of his best friends.. this.. this is too much. Sammy ran until he couldn’t run anymore. Almost passing out when he arrived at a Safehouse.

Once he got a bit of rest, he’d try and find Wendy. He owed that to Norman..

————

Hey! Sorry this took awhile! I meant to finish this earlier but some stuff was going on at home. Sorry if this story isn’t very good either! It’s 1:02 AM so I’m a little tired. I tried my best to make it good though! I really hope you like it! 😄😅

There is such. A huge difference between the ending of HTTYD2 with Hiccup becoming chief and saying "Those who attacked us are relentless and crazy, but those who stopped them? Oho, even more so!" because that's a hopeful fucking challenge, that they will change the world, as compared to all of HTTYD3, where it's like "Oh wait this might be hard, let's give up."

No matter how hard or horrifying the world is, it'll never break a true friendship

Grant and Shawn run out of food!

Oooh! I’ll try to make this one good! 😄

————

Food was running low for Shawn and Grant. There had been way more zombie sightings outside the Safehouse and they were almost out of rations. This was bad. Shawn hadn’t had a real meal in two days, as he decided to let Grant eat more. Since he was weaker and needed his strength.

All they had left right now were two cans of bacon soup. Ironically it was the same brand as the studio’s bacon soup. They found it in a grocery store due to its growing popularity before the apocalypse started.

That same grocery store wasn’t far away from the Safehouse, and it was still loaded with food. The two men would’ve grabbed more at the time, but their bags were full. Backpacks could only carry so much.

“Grant? I think we’re going to have to go on another trip to the store. Two cans of bacon soup isn’t going to keep us alive for long.” Shawn said after much thought. Going back to the grocery store is going to take some planning. Some of the infected liked to hide out in there, and if he wanted to avoid being attacked then they’d have to be careful.

“D-Do we have to? W-What if there’s more food in this Safehouse and w-we just thought we ran out..” Grant worried. Yes he sounded ridiculous, but he just didn’t want to go back out there.. especially after they got ambushed a week back. They had gotten lucky that time. What if the next doesn’t end as safely?

“Grant.. you know I checked everywhere. There’s no hidden food stashes in this building. I wish there was.. but there isn’t. So we need to head to the grocery store again.” It was hard sometimes, making Grant come along wasn’t easy for the former-toymaker. In fact, he hated it. The boy didn’t deserve to have to go out into a zombie infested city just to find food.. but they needed to work as a team.

“Y-You’re right.. sorry. I-I just don’t want you to get hurt. I don’t want to get hurt either..” There was so much to be afraid of in this world now. Just one little mistake could lead to being bitten or scratched. Both were a death sentence, and Grant would be devastated if Shawn got attacked because of him doing something careless.

“I know buddy, but I promise you that will never happen. I’ll always be here for you. No one is going to get bit. Not me, and not you. Okay?” Shawn pulled Grant into a hug. Patting his back gently. He could hear tiny sobs from his friend. God.. he wished that he could do more to help the poor kid.

“Come on kiddo. Let’s go do a little ‘grocery shopping’ alright?” The older man joked as he let go of Grant. Smirking slightly when he saw him try to hold back a laugh.

“O-Okay.” The younger man finally agreed. His eyes a little red and puffy from crying, but he had a small smile on his face now.

Soon the two friends left the Safehouse. In search of more food. Leaving the safety of their little hideaway.

Hey! Sorry I took a day to write this! I was having a hard night yesterday, and today I just kept getting distracted! Sorry about that! Sorry if it’s too short too! I really hope you like this story! I tried my best to make it good! 😄😅

I’m going to try and finish some more tonight and tomorrow! 😄

Dogs are the best, I can imagine Grant just pours all of his love and belly rubs to the puppy while said puppy is making cute noises!

Zombie prompt- They find a doggy! :)

Awwww! This one will be nice! They deserve some happy stuff! 😄

————

Shawn was shocked. Completely and utterly stunned. The last thing he had been expecting to find today, was a puppy. An adorable tail-wagging little pitbull puppy. The thing was absolutely precious, and it seemed to be trying to play with the zombies.

Thankfully the undead just seemed mildly confused, and didn’t try to attack it. Shawn guessed that only human meat was on their menus. He sighed with relief in the alley he was hiding in.

A gurgling noise came from one infected man that got pounced by the puppy. Stumbling and accidentally falling on their back in the street. Several other zombies stopped what they were doing to watch. All slowly shuffling over to see what was causing such a ruckus.

The pittie puppy just let out an excited “woof” and tried to steal the zombie’s shoe. It was so cute that Shawn could barely stop himself from laughing. Another zombie tried to approach the puppy. It didn’t seem to be out of agression or hostility. More like curiosity. It tried to touch the little pitbull but yelped in surprise when the puppy tried to lick them.

‘I’ve got to try and bring that little guy home for Grant! He’d love it!’ Shawn thought to himself, happy with his adorable discovery. First he just needs to catch it. That sweet little puppy shouldn’t be out here on its own.

It took awhile for the zombies to leave. Most-likely an hour or two. They had left screeching and chasing after something, so the former-toymaker assumed that they had spotted an unlucky survivor somewhere. Shawn felt bad about not being able to help.. but there wasn’t much he could do anyway. Might as well focus on getting the puppy to the Safehouse.

With no one else in sight the puppy started sniffing around for things to eat. Fortunately for Shawn he happened to have a small bag of beef jerky on him. Just in case he got hungry.

“Here boy! Here boy!” Shawn said in a loud whisper. Wanting to be loud enough for the little pitbull to hear, but quiet enough to not alert any unseen undead.

The puppy stopped sniffing and saw the man. Immediately running over to lick his face. Tail wagging with glee. It found a human! This one seemed different from the weird humans and it seemed to want to play with it!

“Aww. Come on little guy. Let’s get you home. There we can get you all fed and clean.” Shawn smiled and chuckled as he scooped up the little puppy. Giving it a little kiss, which the little dog happily responded by licking his face.

“I think Grant’s going to love you.”

————

Hey! Thanks for this prompt! It was so cute and it was really fun to write! Sorry if it’s not that great though, and sorry I only wrote Shawn finding the puppy. I forgot to add Grant and by the time I realized it I felt it was too late to change it. Sorry about that. I hope you like this story despite that! 😆😅

Also I decided to go with a pitbull puppy, because I think those dogs deserve more love. 😄

Strategy and intelligence is important, and these two bois shows how important it is

Also who needs guns when you have rocks

For the prompt, maybe Grant and Shawn moving locations and getting ambushed?

Oh yes! This is going to be fun! 😆😆

————

As great as their current Safehouse was. Shawn and Grant knew they couldn’t stay there forever. More infected had been coming into the area and supply runs had been becoming more dangerous because of this. So they had to move.

Grant was obviously worried. Constantly looking over his shoulder once the two had left the safehouse. He wrapped a scarf around his neck and held his pistol for dear life. Shawn decided that leaving while the snow is still falling is their best bet. It seemed to distract the dead, and they were slower in the cold.

“Don’t worry Grant. The next Safehouse shouldn’t be too far. We can make it.” Shawn could sense his friend’s uneasiness. He wished he could do something to help, but he needed to put all of his attention into getting to the next Safehouse without running into trouble.

The younger man just let out a small whimper and nodded. Too afraid to even speak for the fear of accidentally attracting something with his voice, despite Shawn speaking just a moment ago.

After a few close calls with some wandering undead, the two managed to find a short cut in an alley. They could see the Safehouse. It was behind a fenced-off gate. It looked old and loose. Shawn shook it a little. Nothing, not even a budge. Someone must’ve locked it.

“That’s not good.. okay I think we need to find another way through.” Shawn sighed. Couldn’t things just be easy for once? He guessed not. “Come on kiddo, let’s get out of this alley.”

When the older man turned around he found Grant frozen like a statue. A look of absolutely terror on his face. He was pointing a shaking finger at the entrance to the alley. There was something standing there. It was bleeding from its eyes and mouth.. and it seemed to be sniffing the air.

Oh god.

The walking corpse continued to sniff the air. Slowly going down the alleyway step by step. Shawn grabbed Grant and hid behind a dumpster. In the process Grant accidentally let out a startled yelp.

Noise. Noise. There was noise. Where was it? It had to find it. Find and eat whatever made the noise. It stepped out of the alley and started shrieking to the other infected. Calling for help to catch this food. The dead preferring to work together to catch their prey. Moans and groans began to fill the entrance to the dead-end.

‘No.. this can’t be the end. There has to be a way out of this!’ Shawn thought desperately. His eyes darting around, looking for any places they could escape through. He saw that the brick building next to him had windows. Several broken. Wait. Broken?

A rock lay at his feet. Perfect for smashing the window further. There was a chance that if they broke the window and got through it fast enough they could get away. It was risky.. very risky, and the dead would definitely hear the glass shatter, but they were running out of options.

‘I’m not going to just sit here and wait for death. I promised myself I would keep Grant safe, and that’s what I’m going to do.’ Knowing what he had to do, Shawn grabbed the rock and chucked it at the window as hard as he could. Causing Grant to gasp in shock, and the zombies to let out an alerted shriek.

“Okay let’s move! Go! Go!” Shawn shouted. Pushing Grant through the window while he tried to hold the undead off. He fired several shots into their heads, but more kept coming. Luckily he managed to escape through the window before they got any closer.

By the time the dead had began to force themselves through the window, the two men had already fled. Successfully surviving the ambush, and leaving a few screaming zombies stuck in the window. The undead that weren’t stuck went back to mindlessly shambling around. Quickly forgetting that two survivors had even come through here.

Hey! Thanks for this prompt! It was really fun to do! Sorry if it’s not very good though. I’m just kind of tired. It’s 12:37 AM so I should probably go to bed soon. I still tried my best though! Thanks again! 😅

I live how the snow's ability to confuse zombies, yeah Winter can be really be useful against the zombies it can slow them down

Are first I expected to zombies will attack him but nope they did something better..... by shoving the snow in their mouth like him and oh my gosh yes! Winter is beautiful!

Yo Sammy! You can use the zombies to clean the raod from snow!

Prompt: snow zombies

Snow zombies. This is going to be fun. 😆😆

————

It was cold. Colder than usual.

For the dead this was strange. They were naturally cold beings.. but this was too much. Many zombies were outside when the snowing had started, and many survivors had taken to watching the undead react in confusion to the bizarre weather through binoculars. They couldn’t deny that it was pretty entertaining.

Sammy groaned. He didn’t like this. Being cold felt natural to him, but this is beyond freezing. Strange white things fluttered down from the clouds. Landing in his hair and on his face when he stared up at them. What were these things? They made him shiver more than usual and they seemed to be everywhere.

Several zombies nearby were huddling up together in a group. Trudging through the whiteness together trying to search for a meal. Sammy’s instincts instructed him to join the small band of wandering undead. During the walk he spotted what appeared to be some infected children, poking and prodding at the snow. Seeming just as bewildered about the strange white powder as he was.

Feeling his curiosity grow, he crouched down to try and touch the whiteness. His hand came back freezing and covered in the stuff. He groaned uncomfortably at the sensation and wiped his hand on his bloodstained clothes.

So touching it might not be the best idea.. what about eating it? It didn’t have a smell, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t food right? Maybe he’d have just a small taste. Scooping a pile up with his already frozen hands and shoving it into his mouth.

Nope. Too cold!

The former music-director spat it out. Way too cold. Definitely not food. That was a disappointment.. he was so hungry and he hasn’t seen even a single survivor today. It was almost like the food was hiding from him and the others..

There was a confused gurgle close by and Sammy turned to see that the zombies he had been traveling with had witnessed him try to eat the snow. They watched him curiously.

Apparently whatever he did, seemed to interest the rest of the undead. A few moaned questioningly while another few copied what he did. Shoving a small pile of snow into their mouths before spitting it out after realizing it wasn’t food.

Suddenly the rest of the dead started doing it too. Even the little undead children nearby started trying to eat cold, fluffy, white stuff that fell from the sky. What had he started? Sammy barely knew what any of this stuff was anyway.

Soon after everyone had finished trying the snow, they soon went back to whatever it was they were doing before. Huddling together and shuffling around searching for survivors. While Sammy continued to watch the mysterious white specks gently rain down. It may have been unpleasantly cold.. but for some reason Sammy found them to be pretty. Deciding to stay outside a little longer so he could watch them fall.

It almost seemed familiar.. had he seen these white things somewhere before?

Hey! Thanks for sending me this prompt! It was fun to do! Sorry if it isn’t very good though! I kept getting distracted by the TV in my room. Sorry about that! I tried my best to make this good! I hope you like it! 😅

Despite all of the chaos in apocalypse, some of the trace of the old world is still there.

Man I love this, so far my favorite, these two have gone through much Lord knows what happened to them but thank God they found this store to take a rest and take the break they deserve

For the prompt, maybe Grant and Shawn finding some small goody, like a candy bar or something. Just a small comfort they took for granted

This is going to be sweet! 😄 (Lol pun 😆)

————

There weren’t many positives about living in a zombie apocalypse. Generally because of the constant fighting to survive, and running from place to place. Although, if there had to be one good thing that came from this it would be that everything is pretty much free.

Grant naturally was against taking things from the countless abandoned stores that he and Shawn came across at first, but eventually Shawn helped him to understand that sometimes stealing was necessary. They did however, decide that stealing from other survivors was a no-go. Taking things from abandoned shops is one thing, but stealing from other survivors is another.

“S-Shawn! Look what I found!” The two men had been exploring an old drugstore, in search of medicine, bandages, toothpaste, things like that. When Grant had discovered the candy section. Shawn laughed softly and walked over to his friend to check it out.

Sure enough, the aisle was filled with different types of candy. Sour gummies, chocolate bars, caramel sweets, cookies, even chip bags, several flavours of pop, marshmallows, basically the choices seemed endless. The former-toymaker smiled warmly. He couldn’t help but be reminded of Henry. That boy always loved candy. Hopefully he was safe.. wherever he was.

“S-Should we take some with us?” Grant asked. Even he was smiling a little. Seeing that made Shawn happy. The poor kid hardly smiled anymore.

“Sure. Grab as much as you want kiddo.” The older man nodded. Letting his friend start putting candy into his bag. In only a few minutes the backpack was then filled to the brim with sugary sweets.

It was a small fortune that they had discovered.. and yet Shawn could see how much this meant to Grant. He wasn’t obsessed with candy like Henry was, but still, he could see the look of hope in his friend’s eyes. Even just the smallest or positives meant the world to the boy.

“T-Thanks Shawn..” The young man said as he quietly ate some cookies and chocolate. They were so lucky to have found this drug store. It had all the supplies they had been needing, and the discovery of candy made this trip all the more sweeter.

“You’re welcome buddy.” Shawn ruffled Grant’s hair before getting up to sample some candy himself. There were so many to choose.

Maybe their luck was starting to finally turn around for the better.

————

Hey! I really hope you like this story! I tried my very best to make it good! Sorry if it isn’t that great though. I had a lot of fun writing this one! It was a really nice and sweet prompt! Thank you so much for sending it! 😄😄

Aw heck yes! The suspense! The narration builds it up so well!

Also fight me because Norman is precious! This is the Norman I prefer!

Hi! I finally got a small idea for a prompt! In a story you wrote for a prompt, you mentioned how Shawn and Grant had gotten a call from their friends before. Maybe you could write about them hearing from a friend? If not, that's okay!

I’ll try my best to make this one good! 😄

————

It was midnight when Shawn finally got an answer from one of his friends. One he had been especially worried about since the apocalypse had started. They weren’t close friends, but that didn’t matter much. A friend is still a friend.

The message was from Norman. Replying to Shawn and Grant’s worried voicemails. Hearing that boy’s voice filled him with relief. Thank god he was still alive. Grant was still asleep, so the man went into another room to play the voicemail Norman had sent back.

‘Hey Shawn, hey Grant.. Wendy and I are okay. We’ve been hiding out in a motel near the studio. Wendy’s asleep right now. She doesn’t know I’m on the phone. I’m sure if she did, she’d come running to talk to you guys.. but it’s probably for the best that she’s sleeping. I don’t want her to hear this..’ There was a long pause. Shawn had chills running down his spine the moment he started to fear where this message would go.

‘I.. I’ve been bit. It was while I was exploring the motel. I needed to make sure it was safe for Wendy.. apparently it wasn’t. One of the rooms had a zombie in it. It must’ve spotted me before I spotted it, because by the time I managed to shoot it had already bit my arm.’ Shawn almost dropped his phone. No that isn’t possible. There’s just no way. This has to be some kind of sick joke. He couldn’t have been bitten. The boy was just kidding. Right?Norman had a little sister to take care of. He couldn’t get bit! Wendy would be all alone!

‘It happened an hour ago.. and I’m not sure how much time I have. Wendy was scared.. but I told her I was fine. I just didn’t want her to worry.. but now I’m not sure what to do. We only have each other. I have to be there for her. W-What will happen to her if I’m gone?’ Norman’s voice grew shakier as he spoke through the voicemail. On the brink of sobbing.

‘S-Shawn? G-Grant? I-If I turn.. will you please take care of Wendy? I-If I can’t be there for her anymore.. I at least want to take comfort in k-knowing that she’ll be safe..’ Tears started running down Shawn’s face as he listened carefully.

‘J-Just please.. promise me that you both will do this.. It would mean so much to me..’ There was another pause. Smaller this time, there was the sound of someone yawning in the background. ‘I-I have to go.. Wendy’s waking up. Please.. remember what I said.’

His voicemail ended with a beep. Leaving Shawn staring at his phone with tears streaming down his face, and trying desperately not to sob. Norman had been bit.. and so far no one has been able to find a cure.

Shawn knew what he had to do. He dialed back Norman’s number. Promising to look after Wendy if Norman starts to turn. They wouldn’t let that little girl be alone, and Norman deserved to have some kind of peace in knowing that his sister would still be alive after he passes.. but still. It hurt so much.

A friend was going to lose his life.

“W-What do I tell Grant?” The man whispered. Curling in on himself and crying into his knees in the darkness of the Safehouse.

————

Hey! Sorry if I made this too sad! I was trying to come up with what to write, and I was planning on doing maybe a silly-ish light-hearted thing with Henry, but then this idea came into my head. Also sorry if this isn’t good either! I’m just sleepy! I had a lot of fun writing this though, and thank you so much for the prompt! Sorry again for being tired though! Hopefully tomorrow I won’t be so sleepy! 😅

To celebrate the Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day on August 21st, and following this post, here’s what you can do to show your favorite fanfiction writers how grateful you are for their work!

Whether you are just a reader or a writer as well, on August 21st:

Go on AO3, FF.net, Wattpad or any other fanfiction website, even Tumblr, and leave comments on your favorite fics. It doesn’t matter if you’ve already reviewed them, just do it again. It doesn’t even have to be a long comment, just show your appreciation. Tell the writers how much you love their fics. Let them know what they mean to you.

Since you’re there, give kudos, favorite their fics, vote, like them.

Send your favorite writers an encouraging message. Tell them how much you love their work. Tell them which of their fics is your favorite and why. Tell them why they’re important to you.

Make a post recommending some of your favorite fics to your followers so that they have a chance to read them as well and share them with others. Spread the word.

Make this a very special day for your favorite writers, but remember to nurture them often. They spend countless hours working on plots, developing characters and creating worlds that wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for them. And they do it for free, of their own accord and frequently during their free time. It takes hard work and commitment and love for what they’re doing. And they do it for them just as much as they do it for you, so appreciate it.

They give you infinite ways in which your favorite characters find love, go on adventures and get to experience different lives, new challenges. They give you unimaginable versions of your favorite stories that you’ll just never get to see in the official storyline. They give you the opportunity to fall in love with your favorite characters all over again. Be grateful for that and don’t be afraid to express it.

Show your favorite writers how much you appreciate them and you might just make their day. And a writer who knows that their work is loved is a happy writer. Never forget that. Always share your love :)

Rise of the Guardians is about war. About the casualties that amass when a world is locked in anger. It’s not just a silly movie of a dead kid who´s neglectd by a giant rock in space. It’s so much deeper. So much darker. It’s raw and real regardless of its fantastical settings
