Strategy And Intelligence Is Important, And These Two Bois Shows How Important It Is
Strategy and intelligence is important, and these two bois shows how important it is
Also who needs guns when you have rocks
For the prompt, maybe Grant and Shawn moving locations and getting ambushed?
Oh yes! This is going to be fun! 😆😆

As great as their current Safehouse was. Shawn and Grant knew they couldn’t stay there forever. More infected had been coming into the area and supply runs had been becoming more dangerous because of this. So they had to move.
Grant was obviously worried. Constantly looking over his shoulder once the two had left the safehouse. He wrapped a scarf around his neck and held his pistol for dear life. Shawn decided that leaving while the snow is still falling is their best bet. It seemed to distract the dead, and they were slower in the cold.
“Don’t worry Grant. The next Safehouse shouldn’t be too far. We can make it.” Shawn could sense his friend’s uneasiness. He wished he could do something to help, but he needed to put all of his attention into getting to the next Safehouse without running into trouble.
The younger man just let out a small whimper and nodded. Too afraid to even speak for the fear of accidentally attracting something with his voice, despite Shawn speaking just a moment ago.
After a few close calls with some wandering undead, the two managed to find a short cut in an alley. They could see the Safehouse. It was behind a fenced-off gate. It looked old and loose. Shawn shook it a little. Nothing, not even a budge. Someone must’ve locked it.
“That’s not good.. okay I think we need to find another way through.” Shawn sighed. Couldn’t things just be easy for once? He guessed not. “Come on kiddo, let’s get out of this alley.”
When the older man turned around he found Grant frozen like a statue. A look of absolutely terror on his face. He was pointing a shaking finger at the entrance to the alley. There was something standing there. It was bleeding from its eyes and mouth.. and it seemed to be sniffing the air.
Oh god.
The walking corpse continued to sniff the air. Slowly going down the alleyway step by step. Shawn grabbed Grant and hid behind a dumpster. In the process Grant accidentally let out a startled yelp.
Noise. Noise. There was noise. Where was it? It had to find it. Find and eat whatever made the noise. It stepped out of the alley and started shrieking to the other infected. Calling for help to catch this food. The dead preferring to work together to catch their prey. Moans and groans began to fill the entrance to the dead-end.
‘No.. this can’t be the end. There has to be a way out of this!’ Shawn thought desperately. His eyes darting around, looking for any places they could escape through. He saw that the brick building next to him had windows. Several broken. Wait. Broken?
A rock lay at his feet. Perfect for smashing the window further. There was a chance that if they broke the window and got through it fast enough they could get away. It was risky.. very risky, and the dead would definitely hear the glass shatter, but they were running out of options.
‘I’m not going to just sit here and wait for death. I promised myself I would keep Grant safe, and that’s what I’m going to do.’ Knowing what he had to do, Shawn grabbed the rock and chucked it at the window as hard as he could. Causing Grant to gasp in shock, and the zombies to let out an alerted shriek.
“Okay let’s move! Go! Go!” Shawn shouted. Pushing Grant through the window while he tried to hold the undead off. He fired several shots into their heads, but more kept coming. Luckily he managed to escape through the window before they got any closer.
By the time the dead had began to force themselves through the window, the two men had already fled. Successfully surviving the ambush, and leaving a few screaming zombies stuck in the window. The undead that weren’t stuck went back to mindlessly shambling around. Quickly forgetting that two survivors had even come through here.

Hey! Thanks for this prompt! It was really fun to do! Sorry if it’s not very good though. I’m just kind of tired. It’s 12:37 AM so I should probably go to bed soon. I still tried my best though! Thanks again! 😅

Despite all of the chaos in apocalypse, some of the trace of the old world is still there.
Man I love this, so far my favorite, these two have gone through much Lord knows what happened to them but thank God they found this store to take a rest and take the break they deserve
For the prompt, maybe Grant and Shawn finding some small goody, like a candy bar or something. Just a small comfort they took for granted
This is going to be sweet! 😄 (Lol pun 😆)

There weren’t many positives about living in a zombie apocalypse. Generally because of the constant fighting to survive, and running from place to place. Although, if there had to be one good thing that came from this it would be that everything is pretty much free.
Grant naturally was against taking things from the countless abandoned stores that he and Shawn came across at first, but eventually Shawn helped him to understand that sometimes stealing was necessary. They did however, decide that stealing from other survivors was a no-go. Taking things from abandoned shops is one thing, but stealing from other survivors is another.
“S-Shawn! Look what I found!” The two men had been exploring an old drugstore, in search of medicine, bandages, toothpaste, things like that. When Grant had discovered the candy section. Shawn laughed softly and walked over to his friend to check it out.
Sure enough, the aisle was filled with different types of candy. Sour gummies, chocolate bars, caramel sweets, cookies, even chip bags, several flavours of pop, marshmallows, basically the choices seemed endless. The former-toymaker smiled warmly. He couldn’t help but be reminded of Henry. That boy always loved candy. Hopefully he was safe.. wherever he was.
“S-Should we take some with us?” Grant asked. Even he was smiling a little. Seeing that made Shawn happy. The poor kid hardly smiled anymore.
“Sure. Grab as much as you want kiddo.” The older man nodded. Letting his friend start putting candy into his bag. In only a few minutes the backpack was then filled to the brim with sugary sweets.
It was a small fortune that they had discovered.. and yet Shawn could see how much this meant to Grant. He wasn’t obsessed with candy like Henry was, but still, he could see the look of hope in his friend’s eyes. Even just the smallest or positives meant the world to the boy.
“T-Thanks Shawn..” The young man said as he quietly ate some cookies and chocolate. They were so lucky to have found this drug store. It had all the supplies they had been needing, and the discovery of candy made this trip all the more sweeter.
“You’re welcome buddy.” Shawn ruffled Grant’s hair before getting up to sample some candy himself. There were so many to choose.
Maybe their luck was starting to finally turn around for the better.

Hey! I really hope you like this story! I tried my very best to make it good! Sorry if it isn’t that great though. I had a lot of fun writing this one! It was a really nice and sweet prompt! Thank you so much for sending it! 😄😄
Aw heck yes! The suspense! The narration builds it up so well!
Also fight me because Norman is precious! This is the Norman I prefer!
Hi! I finally got a small idea for a prompt! In a story you wrote for a prompt, you mentioned how Shawn and Grant had gotten a call from their friends before. Maybe you could write about them hearing from a friend? If not, that's okay!
I’ll try my best to make this one good! 😄

It was midnight when Shawn finally got an answer from one of his friends. One he had been especially worried about since the apocalypse had started. They weren’t close friends, but that didn’t matter much. A friend is still a friend.
The message was from Norman. Replying to Shawn and Grant’s worried voicemails. Hearing that boy’s voice filled him with relief. Thank god he was still alive. Grant was still asleep, so the man went into another room to play the voicemail Norman had sent back.
‘Hey Shawn, hey Grant.. Wendy and I are okay. We’ve been hiding out in a motel near the studio. Wendy’s asleep right now. She doesn’t know I’m on the phone. I’m sure if she did, she’d come running to talk to you guys.. but it’s probably for the best that she’s sleeping. I don’t want her to hear this..’ There was a long pause. Shawn had chills running down his spine the moment he started to fear where this message would go.
‘I.. I’ve been bit. It was while I was exploring the motel. I needed to make sure it was safe for Wendy.. apparently it wasn’t. One of the rooms had a zombie in it. It must’ve spotted me before I spotted it, because by the time I managed to shoot it had already bit my arm.’ Shawn almost dropped his phone. No that isn’t possible. There’s just no way. This has to be some kind of sick joke. He couldn’t have been bitten. The boy was just kidding. Right?Norman had a little sister to take care of. He couldn’t get bit! Wendy would be all alone!
‘It happened an hour ago.. and I’m not sure how much time I have. Wendy was scared.. but I told her I was fine. I just didn’t want her to worry.. but now I’m not sure what to do. We only have each other. I have to be there for her. W-What will happen to her if I’m gone?’ Norman’s voice grew shakier as he spoke through the voicemail. On the brink of sobbing.
‘S-Shawn? G-Grant? I-If I turn.. will you please take care of Wendy? I-If I can’t be there for her anymore.. I at least want to take comfort in k-knowing that she’ll be safe..’ Tears started running down Shawn’s face as he listened carefully.
‘J-Just please.. promise me that you both will do this.. It would mean so much to me..’ There was another pause. Smaller this time, there was the sound of someone yawning in the background. ‘I-I have to go.. Wendy’s waking up. Please.. remember what I said.’
His voicemail ended with a beep. Leaving Shawn staring at his phone with tears streaming down his face, and trying desperately not to sob. Norman had been bit.. and so far no one has been able to find a cure.
Shawn knew what he had to do. He dialed back Norman’s number. Promising to look after Wendy if Norman starts to turn. They wouldn’t let that little girl be alone, and Norman deserved to have some kind of peace in knowing that his sister would still be alive after he passes.. but still. It hurt so much.
A friend was going to lose his life.
“W-What do I tell Grant?” The man whispered. Curling in on himself and crying into his knees in the darkness of the Safehouse.

Hey! Sorry if I made this too sad! I was trying to come up with what to write, and I was planning on doing maybe a silly-ish light-hearted thing with Henry, but then this idea came into my head. Also sorry if this isn’t good either! I’m just sleepy! I had a lot of fun writing this though, and thank you so much for the prompt! Sorry again for being tired though! Hopefully tomorrow I won’t be so sleepy! 😅
He killed it
