a few things you should keep in mind when studying mbti
cognition ≠ behavior
yes, our cognition affects our behavior, and if you believe in mbti, it surely affects our behavior too. with that said, you should keep in mind that we are complex human beings and it's impossible for us to act exactly like our type all the time.
which takes us to the next one
mbti is also about motivation
it's not just about your first reaction to stuff or your mental process when making a decision. it's also about your motivation with your actions. you did that thing. why? what were you trying to do when you did that? what were you thinking to do that? were you trying to find an effective solution to your problems? or maybe you were just trying to understand how that worked and why it worked like that?
write down your mental process
this one, seriously, do it before you understand the cognitive functions!! write down your thinking process when making a decision, write down every single thing you can think about your personality. it'll be useful. also if you have the patience to do so, write a very detailed journal about your thoughts for a couple days but those tips will work only if you have self knowledge.
be careful about the sources you're using
this is so important, I can't say it enough. it's pretty rare to find a trustable source to study mbti besides the books so if you're checking websites, be extra careful please.
I'd recommend you to check this website https://www.typeinmind.com/ it's the most trustable source I found
don't trust tests
yes, there are tests that can help you to have an idea about your mbti (16p is not included for god's sake) like sakinorva or the mistype investigator test, but the only way of being sure about your type is studying the functions and having enough self-knowledge.

Threes are self-assured, attractive, and charming. Ambitious, competent, and energetic, they can also be status-conscious and highly driven for advancement. They are diplomatic and poised, but can also be overly concerned with their image and what others think of them. They typically have problems with workaholism and competitiveness.

At their Best: inspired and highly creative, they are able to renew themselves and transform their experiences.
Fours are self-aware, sensitive, and reserved. They are emotionally honest, creative, and personal, but can also be moody and self-conscious. some character developments i want to see more
the quiet one snapping
the bully realising their mistake and turning to a protector instead
the traditional one accepting a change
the cold one giving a soft hug
the angry one being most calm
the reckless one being most cautious
the chaotic one being calm in the most desperate situation
the hopeless one being the symbol of hope
the stupidest one giving the brightest idea
the selfish one giving their things to the needy
the disciplined one causing most chaos
the homebody travelling around the world
the winner losing a game and realising life isn’t always about winning or losing, it’s about enjoying the game

Yes. Just Yes.
“angry characters need to learn control” no, actually. let them be angry. let them lose their cool. let them take it out on the things around them. let that anger build inside of them until it has no choice but to be let loose or it’ll destroy them from the inside out. let them have such a visceral and intense outburst that it irrovocably changes the world in a way that can never be fixed. let them leave that mark on the world from nothing but their own rage. let them scar the world and let them feel it. let them be emotional. let them be raw. let them feel it and express it in the only way they know how. let them grow as a character, yes. let them thrive and develop and change. but for the love of god, let them be fucking angry.
