Sometimes it’s important to know that not everything is as it seems.

Aphria will never see this. She doesn’t need to. However, my dearest reader, that does not mean that I will withhold this information from you.

You see, miles away, as Garroth Dorian holds baby Levin, he starts to cry.

There’s seemingly no reason to do so. To an outside observer, and to Garroth Dorian himself, it was worthless, these tears. They meant nothing. Held nothing. It made him ashamed of being so emotional for a reason so unknown.

Yet, I cannot even begin to fathom the feeling he is and will be experiencing for the rest of this story. How devastating it must be to become a father and never realize that the child you are holding and the mother you don’t even remember were supposed to be such big parts of your life.

In another world, this story could have gone differently. Zenix could’ve been stopped and the Lord replaced with a reluctant Garroth Dorian who’s crime was loving a married woman who would have been pushing him to the path of Lord. In another world, he would have witnessed all of Levin’s firsts. He would have done everything he could to keep his wife and son happy.

But this is not that world. In this world, all Garroth Dorian will have is that absent, forgetful, guilty feeling. As if he’s missing something.

Not to be angsty on (kinda) main, but you ever be so loud, yet always ignored? Like, it doesn’t matter how loud you are, how much you try to input your opinion or thoughts you just… can’t get a word in. And it doesn’t matter how loud you are because when you are listened to, it’s always the wrong thing to do. To say. No one laughs with you. No one sees your tears. No one hears your cut off sentences. No one hears you. No one cares. And you just wonder if maybe you’re better off being silent. If no one listens anyways, then why keep trying? Why keep doing this?

But it’s fine. It’s always fine. Because if it’s not fine…………

What if I made Laurance significantly deadlier in Marigold?? What if he takes more lives?? I probably won’t do this, but I was listening to music and letting it affect my brainrot. And I came to the idea of Laurance being referred to as “Lady Aphria’s Bloodhound” or something along those lines because he will hunt and maim her enemies on command, no hesitation. Again, probably won’t do this but it’s fun making my favorites more unhinged than necessary.

Okay, but like, I’m actually really excited about doing the dance scenes because even though I struggle with writing them I’m romanticizing dance and I’m hyped - 🦝
