Call for Submissions - Spring 2014

It’s that time again, Woolves! We’re getting ready to put out our first zine of 2014, we hope lots of you will contribute! The deadline for the Spring issue is 28th February.

As usual we’re looking for articles, reviews, comics, illustrations, recipes, poetry and creative writing, puzzles, how-tos, questions for Poppet, anything you’d like to see when you pick up a zine! As this is the Spring issue, it’s a good time to submit anything Spring-related, or otherwise in keeping with the season. However, there is no set theme, so we will still consider non-Spring-themed submissions!

The format is A5, black and white, 300dpi jpeg files. Please remember this zine is lady-types only, so we will only be accepting submissions from women, girls or other lady-types.

Please send your submissions to whatsthetimemrswoolf (at) gmail (dot) com by the 28th of February.

I am single-handedly attempting to revive both letter-writing and the use of sealing wax.

I also stamp a dancing skeleton next to the address on the envelope, but that's a story for another time.

One of the lilies at work is only half-open. I think it looks nicer that way.

I was trying to do something with shading instead of lines. Although I did this in the dark so I'd get better contrast, which might have been silly. I've drawn by candlelight before and not found it too hard, but drawing the candle by candlelight turned out be a bit tricky.

It's still too cold for outdoor drawing (I don't mind the cold, but my hands seize up really quickly) so I dug out my Treasure Box on the hunt for interesting objects.

Here's an old seashell I used to use as a candle-holder, complete with candle stub.
