I was getting extreme dejavu today that I actually went back to re-read earlier seasons of Altea’s route before making these posts about Helena’s season 5 release today. I didn’t really get into Altea’s route until around Season 6, so I missed a lot of details prior. Going back to re-read it is like…mind blown, seriously all that foreshadowing?! 

“I have already tethered myself to this fate. Perhaps in another world, I could have found someone like you.” (Helena dialogue, Altea S3 EP11)

Uhm, if you tell me you didn’t get a chill through your bones reading that line of dialogue where Helena talks about fates and different worlds via Altea’s route, idk what to say. My mind is completely mush right now from all this information.

For the release today, I really enjoyed this scene in the crystal cavern, it provides a lot of information and I think it’s worth the hearts if you can afford it. I did a Photoshop thing where I changed the colors to match the crystals to go along with the MC’s narration. And, omfg…it emotionally hurts so bad just thinking about Altea’s season 6 where they ran into Helena at the capitol cause it gets implied in the crystal reflection scene.

Something about Alain’s scenes reflected in the crystal makes me happy cause all three of them are together, smiling, away from the witch queen’s castle. Then, I realized…Alain’s possible death in Helena’s route will probably be the emotional end of me. 

I’m okay. I’ll just pretend everything is fine. Yes, brain…Everything is perfectly fine. Just keep swimming…just keep swimming~

Just as Zain’s route the first male character route to acknowledge the MC was bisexual and had a girlfriend in the past, I think Andi’s route is the first time I’ve encountered the issue of bi-erasure be addressed. (Antonio’s route offered some funny bi jokes, but I don’t think it ever mentioned the MC having a girlfriend.)

I mean, the entire truth/dare heart scene was all fun and games and I was laughing pretty hard irl, but then I got to this scene and it just made me feel good that the writers at Voltage, whether it was part of the story plot or not, are addressing some important LGBTQ+ issues. I haven’t read all the routes in Lovestruck yet, but the only other instance I remember of a small discussion was when the MC in Helena’s route explained the flag colors to Helena and how people had to fight for their rights. 

By coincidence, I was researching some stuff last night about how bi people are usually not accepted by both sides and it’s kind of depressing. It’s difficult as it is to come out, but when people mock you and say that being bi isn’t real and that it’s just a phase…you kinda’ just crawl back into the closet and just date guys your entire life.

Idk, but I’m shook again at today’s release. Not really sure what to think anymore other than I need a hella lot more boba tea tomorrow…
